So, I am curious about ice machines. We have paid for a preferred room and are requesting building #4. Are there ice machines available close to those rooms, and/or throughout the resort? And can anyone give me their opinion of the quality of the ice; i.e., is it clean, and safe to use in drinks? Or, does anyone think it has an odd taste?

There are ice machines on every floor in every building near the elevators. I never noticed that the ice tastes odd. I believe it's clean and safe to use.

Thank you! :goodvibes That was my assumption, but I just thought I'd check. We plan to bring our favorite water bottles to the park everyday, full of ice, so I would need to plan something else if the ice had a "bad reputation!" :rotfl2:

I ate the ice cubes like candy one night when I burnt my tongue on hot chocolate! No ill effects whatsoever, and no weird taste either.

Personally, I would not use the ice from the buidling ice machines because people tend to just dunk the buckets or their hands in them to get the ice so whatever bacteria etc are on the items get in the ice. I would prefer to use the ice from the ice machine in the cafeteria for water bottles. The choice is yours though.

?? I don't remember the ice machines being like that at POP ??

I remember the ice machines as being dispensers. You put your ice bucket under the dispenser and push the button.

Unless things have changed the ice machines at Pop are dispensers. You press a button to fill up your bucket. I don't think people can touch all the ice in the machine.

The machines at Pop are the dispenser type like you'd find on a soda machine, rather than the scoop style.

Yeah! That will work perfectly for us. :woohoo:

The ice machines in the buidings are similar to the machines at the food court - just larger. The ice comes out fresh from it when you push the button - there isn't any ice to dunk buckets or hands in.

2 weeks and 3 days till we leave for POP! I'm getting excited!!!

Good to know on the ice machines. We're keeping some drinks in the room this time because Disney's lack of Dr. Pepper on property is an issue for me. LOL I was thinking I'd have to trek to the food court if I needed fresh ice for my cup.

I leave for Pop in the morning! Wooo!

My sister just asked me a question I don't have an answer to, as we always bring our laptop with us - is there any place at POP for her to go online and check her email while she's there?

At all the Disney resorts I have stayed at have ice machines that dispense new, fresh ice each time you use them :thumbsup2

Disney does not have wireless and I am pretty sure the fee is $10 a day for Internet service.

BTW enjoy your trip...we just returned from a 7 night stay at Pop and had a great time!!

The Last Minute Fridge Swap has July 9-15th, July 28-Aug.6th, Oct. 23-Nov.13th, Nov. 21-27.

Unfortunately, no. It's $10 for every 24hr period. There is an Ethernet cord located in the room.

It's definitely a bummer! I take online classes and am required to make posts 4 days of the week. So, I have to pay to do my homework :sad2:

We have to wait till September! Wish we could go down there now! But we like the MNSSHP and the food & wine festival so we have to wait. i just hope the weather isn't as hot as it is now there. Have fun!!:cool1::surfweb:

We just booked our first trip (as adults) to Disney! I think I am more excited than my two kids. LOL. Thank you so much for all of the chit-chat on this board. I really appreciate it. Can't wait for POP!
