Just wanted to share a picture of our room decorations from last week. I miss POP. :sad1:

I took the picture before I flipped the letters around.:)

Here are our door magnets.

Did you make these with a Cricut machine? You did a great job!:artist:

Thank you. :goodvibes Yes, I did use my Cricut.

For the door magnets, did you use magnet sheets? Can you cut that with Cricut? Or did you just attach magnets to the back. I am thinking of using my Cricut and Disney cartridges to make some door decorations for my November trip, but we'll be staying at Saratoga Springs, so the door is outdoors but under cover, many of them are in a hallway like area. I want to make sure my door decorations are water resistant. There is no windows facing the walking areas near the doors like at Pop. However, we will have windows in bedrooms and there is a sliding patio door and a balcony.

I think you can cut magnet sheets using the Cricut but I have never tried..I just cut them out of cardstock, used laminating sheets to weather proof them, and then glued small dot magnets to the back. :)

Ahhhhh, finally here!!! I couldn't remember if it was this thread or the other, so I'm posting in both...sorry!

The refurb room is great! I'm in 50s building 3, 3rd floor, facing fireworks. Got everything I requested except ground floor. Only had those in body 2-not returned.

For those who were asking about the medical fridge for insulin, it's dorm room size-about 2 feet by 2 feet.

Oh, I can do that!!:hippie::hippie:

Same here. I even Tired CBR and it was a no go. DD loves the POP pool.

My DD said "we always stay at the Pop, its our home there" we do love it even if its not the fanciest place, its comfortable and has everything we need. Besides we rather have more $$ for food, extra days at the park and I got a really good deal on my airfare...we are flying first class for the first time!!

What areas of Pop have been refurbed/ I know the 70's section has and, from TammiDZ's post, it sounds like the 50's too. Any others?

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear that you got a refurbed room in the 50's section. I wonder if all the rooms in that section are done being refurbished. Have a great time!

They hand you your coffee at boardwalk? They make it for you? How is this set up? At Pop, its a food court. The beverage stations are on an island on the seating side of the check-out lines. You fill your own mug with whatever you want. My kids like to mix soda flavors. I mixed some hot cocoa (which they don't have at Deluxe resort refills) into my coffee and it was extra yummy. People also refill old and out of date mugs. I'm not passing judgement on those people, I'm just saying they do it. I've NEVER seen anyone get busted. Now, at Saratoga Springs, which is DVC, the refill station is in the cafe, which is not food court like. Its next to the check out. There are far fewer beverages to choose from too. There are also beverage stations at the pools at SSR and GF, but they're next to the bar tender, so he can see what you're doing.. not that he's necessarily watching.. but he could. Pop doesn't have beverage stations at the pools and also doesn't have food at the pools like they do deluxe. Maybe because the pool is so close to the food court. But Petals Pool Bar has the same drink menu as Saratoga and Grand Floridian. That said.. whether or not you bring your mug, if you fill a disposable coffee cup at the station, nobody is likely to even notice. You're entitled to the refill as long as you have/have paid for the mug. If you'd be more comfortable, keep the mug receipt in your pocket or purse!

Yes, at Boardwalk you walk up to the counter, show your mug and just order what you want, and they give it to you in a disposable cup. It's the same way at the pool bar, they won't put the drink in your cup for sanitary reasons (???). It's actually a pain to do it that way (plus I feel like I need to tip the bartender which kind of negates the value of free refills), and I'd much rather they have a fountain station where you can just get your own drinks!!

I love the idea of just keeping the receipt for the mug in my purse!!! I think I'll do that when I want to get drinks to go in a disposable cup! It doesn't sounds like anyone will question me, but if they do, I'll be prepared!! LOL!! Thanks so much for the suggestion!!

From the latest reports, the refurbs remain to be completed in these buildings: 60s building 4 and 50s buildings 1 & 2. All other buildings are expected to be done.

Oh yeah, that reminded me. My DD had brought her refillable Build-A-Cup to get a frozen coke at Goofy's Candy Co. We took it there, and they gave us a refill but in a plastic throw away cup. He said he was told they were not allowed to refill the actual mugs because of "sanitary reasons". He didn't understand any better than we are how it is unsanitary. Believe me, my husband is a biochemist. Its not unsanitary! Why they came up with that one, who knows? Afterall, the refill stations you're refilling right into the old mug? :confused3 If they think the CM is going to get germs from the mug, then certainly gloves are an option. The bakery workers wear them anyways. I wonder why Boardwalk would be different than the other deluxes? I refilled at Beach Club on my way to Beaches & Cream, and I didn't have to hand it to anybody.

In my opinion, it is very wasteful and just adds to the volume of solid waste to use disposable cups when a refillable one is right there!! In fact I'm beginning to think that the whole disposable mug thing isn't green enough. We bought new mugs for our recent trip because our old mugs were out of date. Yet perfectly good!! Now, at home I have 11 Disney resort refillable mugs, 5 Royal Caribbean refillable mugs and 3 Colonial Williamsburg refillable mugs. How many refillable mugs do I need? Where does it end? I think it would be great if I could just return with my old mug... pay the $13.00 fee or whatever, and get a sticker for my mug with the current year on it.. or something like that. The way they put stickers on license plates every year instead of making new ones. Now... where's the suggestion box?

Nice! Sounds like I stand a decent chance of getting a refurbed room then!

Thanks. I'll request bldg. 3. I wasn't worried about the upgraded rooms but I want a newer mattress. I've been reading the bed bug threads and getting :scared1:

I had the same concern, but of course, bedbugs like a new mattress as well as an old one. Just be sure to check. :thumbsup2

I totally agree! I don't know why they couldn't come up with some kind of sticker for the mugs. I wouldn't mind paying the fee again and keeping the mug. Much better all around for the environment.

I am here now. My daughter was so exhausted, we came back to POP early today and I walked the whole property-well most of it! Based on open doors and windows....

Bldg. 1 (I didn't go to floor 3 or 4th) UNTOUCHED
Bldg. 2 UNTOUCHED
Bldg. 3 COMPLETE
Bldg. 4 - flr 3&4 COMPLETE/flr 2 done except for 1 wing/ground floor UNTOUCHED
Bldg. 5 - COMPLETE
Bldg. 6 - COMPLETE
Bldg. 7 - COMPLETE
Bldg. 8 - COMPLETE
Bldg. 9 - COMPLETE
Bldg. 10 - COMPLETE

This may be a silly question.. but how do you tell which buildings are which.. I know the years, but don't know how to decipher between which is building 1 or building 10, etc!? Thanks so much!!:confused3
