Just called to make a room request. I asked to be on the top floor near classic hall. It makes me nervous to have done so. I did mention that my mother is elderly and so I didn't want to have a long walk to the classic hall. The cm then told me I could switch over to a preferred room. (so they are still available) I really don't want to be facing the pool..and I didn't want to pay the extra $100 cash to guarantee that we would be close.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what we get. Anything will be fine..just would prefere a top floor close to classic hall.....still crossing fingers....

Would never NOT do preferred while at a value because last time we were at ASMu and were stuck so far in the back the walk to the food court was crazy. We had to walk past 2 pools and that just upset my daughter because everytime she saw a pool she wanted to go in it. I saw a family staying in the very first building (Calypso) and said how lucky they were to be there and that is when I learned of the preferred rooms for only $10 more a night. Well worth it to not have to deal with the BS of being placed in a building past Cambodia!

I saw a family staying in the very first building (Calypso) and said how lucky they were to be there and that is when I learned of the preferred rooms for only $10 more a night. Well worth it to not have to deal with the BS of being placed in a building past Cambodia!

Let me guess, were you in country music? I was and it was so bad I vowed never to go to ASMu again. I don't think there is a room on any property farther away from the central hall

This early realease of free dining is killing me. I just paid off my pop package 2 weeks ago. I only have 100.00 in next year's vacation fund. I so want to book now. But I guess I can wait til Thursday. I did get a price of 1985.00 for the 4 of us for the same dates with the QSDP.

Dh just asked me if we could maybe upgrade our dining plan also for next's month's trip. I was like you wanted the QSDP. So last night after 2 hours I got some good adr's with character meals for the kids. Does anyone know if my 45 day mark went by can I still upgrade my dining plan with no fee? I know this isn't a pop question but I asked on the dininig board and no one has answered. Probably because they are all making there free dining reservations.

I had the same exact question. I called Disney and they said you can upgrade up to 72 hours before the trip. You have to pay when you upgrade. It costs $10/day per person so for my son and I $120.00 for 6 days. I was going to book only a few ADR's but now we are doing one every day. The price difference is worth the cost if you want to do sit down meals every day. Will will be there about the same time as you I think-Sept 18-24.

We may have a couple of reservations for early in your trip you could use. We are leaving on the 21 and have some doubled up so depending on what you want we maybe able to help

You might want to check if you still have them if they are for the same meals.
CM's can and do cancel ADR's if they notice you have two places for the same meal.
(Plus it's sort of mean if they are places people can't get into because you are holding the table.)

Has the 50's section had the refurb yet? Requesting 50's (buildings 1, 2 and 3 from memory, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

We always do preferred too although in January we were in preferred at CBR and the room was still far our. We've always had good luck at Pop in preferred. Last year we had a great preferred room, requesting the same area next month.

If you want to reservation at a nice sit down restraunt you must book at 180 days out. And I'm not always sure what we're going to do that far in advance but if I don't book it I don't get it at all. So yes I do double book a couple of places, then cancel the ones we don't want when we check-in. If you think I'm the first your, sadly mistaken about that.

From what I've been reading here, it looks like they are currently working on Building 3 in 50's, and no other 50's have been done yet. But, I could be wrong.

At 180 days, I booked Cinderella's castle for 3 mornings, the Norway Princess dinner for 2 nights and Chef Mickey's for 3 mornings (these are the ones my daughter likes the best and the hardest to get). Once the date gets closer, we figure out what we want to do and cancel the ressies we don't want. Last month, I cancelled all the duplicate reservations except for the Princess dinners. I saw the previous post that said Disney can cancel duplicate reservations, so I called Dining this morning and asked them and they said ABSOLUTELY NOT. They cannot cancel ANY reservations unless they are told to do so by the guest. You can go to the same restaurant every day of your vacation if you so choose, or go to dinner twice in one day at two different locations if you feel like it. (I'm pretty sure that's why they take credit card information for some meals - you don't show, they charge you).

I try to plan out my days 6 months in advance so I can make the ressies I pretty much know my preferred touring days at which park !! Then I tweak a LOT!!But I know I have the original ressie so if I can't change it I go with it !!The one I have trouble with is MM for the Fantasmic Package I made one for H &V last time and kept trying but NO luck !!Maybe I shoulda checked when I got to Disney !!!MMMMMMMM!!

I agree, I always book my reservations 180 days in advance. I check out the park hour schedules (courtesy of the The DIS) so I know which park I will want to be in on any given day. I am big on Magic Hours and getting the most park time for my money.

Based on the hours/parades/show times, I then know in which restuarants I will want to make my ADRs. I too have double booked ADRs just in case...this is very common. I have also canceled reservations while walking around the park. It's great to keep those important Disney phone numbers in your phone - although, it is super easy to remember 407-WDW-Dine.

I am known for my super advanced planning and by the time I get to Disney with my family/friends in tow - we all know the game plan. We know which park, on which day, which parade and which restuarant. No stress!

Yes, there are certain meals that require a credit card in order to reserve your place, namely, Cinderalla's Royal Table. It is very popular and they can't have people booking and not showing up. That is precious table space that can be used for another family. Make certain, if you have given a credit card to reserve an ADR that you show up or cancel in good time in order to avoid the charge.
