Hi! I will be staying at Pop for 6 nights starting the day after Labor Day. Am trying to decide on what to request. First priority is a quiet room, second on the wish list is a refurbished room. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

80's or 90s building would meet both those.

I stayed in the 90's a few years ago just before Thanksgiving, on the ground floor, and it was so quiet it was scary!! Lots of people around, but the computer pool is just kind of square, so not so many kids there compared to the Pin pool and the Hippy Dippy pool.

I have a question regarding luggage to the airport after our stay.

Does Pop Century have where I can get my boarding passes, check my luggage etc on the morning we are leaving? (USAir)

They do. It is outside before you enter the registration desk area.

Hi,
I was thinking about requesting the 70's lake view. Has anyone stayed there and liked that? We stayed in the 50's in 2008 when my son was 2 and it was very quiet, but I wanted to get a refurbed room and it looks like those won't be ready when we go. He is 3 now and he is not a good sleeper.

Thanks!

Hi...Iam staying at Pop for one night in a few weeks before checking into BCV early the next morning. I want to order cell phones from walmart to be shipped to the resort.

We might not check in till after 9pm though...will this be a problem?,...will my items be at the front desk when we check in?

Last year we had items shipped to BC. We had to go over to the convention center ..find a parcel office and then pay to pick them up. so thinking it might be easier to have them shipped to pop??

Any advice?:)

Forgive me for asking:flower3: are they done remodeling the rooms at the POP? I somehow always manage to delete this thread! A month from now we will be on our way!:wizard:

They're still working on refurbs and have slowed down for the peak season. There's more info in Post #1, and you'll find a link to a thread that's specific to the PC refurbs. When you get to Page 1 of the thread, just do a page search ([Ctrl]+[F]) and type a keyword search for "Refurbishments". :)

Have fun!!!

Our first trip we did. It was quiet and nice, but it was a good walk to anything there. I like to be more in the action, so the next 2 trips we requested 60's poolside. I am thinking of asking for 50's poolside next trip. It was a great spot, but not my personal favorite.

No luck on getting a extra room threw disney. But I can get one threw orbitz. So I may just book one for the couple of nights he is there. He is bringing his girlfriend so I think just the room for a few nights would be good.

Room 6436: If this room is available, request it! The view is gorgeous! Top floor, super quiet, and refurbished. :thumbsup2

We picked the POP for our first WDW visit! May 2-9, 2011!! We are very excited. We reserved a preferred room (requesting top floor & 60's) Are the preferred rooms very noisy?? We don't mind if we are not right in front of the pool. And with top floor we are hoping that will help with the noise alittle!

Thanks!!
Terri

Been to Disney probably 10x but haven't stayed at a Disney resort in since my kids were young. Going in late January with fiance and am very interested in staying at the POP resort. I see that other people have booked rooms for 2011. How is this possible? Everytime I try it tells me that rates are available yet. AAA won't even talk to me yet. Can't wait till the rates etc come out. We want a quiet room in the 70's building. Good choice? :flower3:

Hi everyone,

I am ordering from Old Navy online and want my packages delivered to the hotel for pick up.

Background: we live in the Cayman's no ON here need to get the kids school uniforms - I find ordering online easier as the stores don't always have a much selection.

My question is is this the address to use? I got it from the 1st post. So just wondering if anyone has used this address with sucess?

Address
Pop Century Resorts, Classic Years
1050 Century Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

thanks

Hello Tinkerbell3747 looks like we'll be at Pop at the same time. I'm arriving in the evening on the 11th of August and leaving late in the day on the 19th. Can't wait.

I've never mailed anything ahead to the resort. We usually drive in our mini-van and we STUFF it full!! I believe I read though, that you need to be sure you mark down Guest:then your name.... and your dates on the outside of the box.

This is our first multi-day trip at a non-DVC resort since 2007! Usually, we stay DVC and add a day or two at the beginning or end at the Pop.

I would request 70's facing the lake for a quiet room. I have never stayed in the 70's but have stayed in the 60's facing the lake and it was pretty quiet.

To both posters asking about 70's rooms and quiet.....

We stayed ground floor, preferred in building 10 (which is by the big wheel) in the 70's section and it was so quiet. Couldn't hear anything.

We also stayed ground floor in the 60's once right by the pool and it was quiet as well. About 11am, you could hear muffled noises outside, but nothing that would bother me if I was trying to nap...which I did. lol

I called the reservation number. You can reserve a "basic package" now and add the tickets and dining as soon as they come out.

Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Like I said, we've been there alot but it's amazing how much you can learn. Everytime I come on the board there are new hints. It's great!

Hi! Just wondering if POP allows you to bring in a gift and give it to the front desk for them to take and leave in your room?

We choose Pop for our first WDW visit in 2007 !! Were in the 60's4th floor but not pool side was very quiet (preferred location)I think 4th floor poolside would be fine too! I see you are new to the Dis , this is a great thread to find out about Pop !! There are lots of other threads that will make you a Disney PRO before your first visit !! Check them out !!!
