We just got back tonight after 9 days at the POP and let me tell you it was great . Our preferred room was near the food court and everything . We were in the 70's room #0164 the first floor and we found it really close to everything we needed . The Hippy Dippy pool was the closest one to us and my kids age 10 and 11 loved it .

Our room was great and the mousekeepers did a really great job of leaving us towel animals every night . In fact we even got mickey ears and 2 swans on our bed the final night. I was a true diser and even decorated the window with a Canada flag and some peel and stick pictures. It was really easy to see where our room was even in the dark.

I greatly recommend this hotel to anyone with kids , they are already talking about going back again.

Glad you had a fantastic time. I'm not sure my family would let me put stuff on the windows, lol. Course we usually face the lake on a higher floor so who would see - LOL!

Got back from 8 nights at Pop last night.

I requested Bldg 1, Flr 4. They gave me Bldg 4, Flr 1. I know that's a desirable location for some people but we wanted to be close to a parking lot and not too far from the food court. The CM found us the room we wanted and all was well. To whoever checked in on May 9th around noon and got bldg 4, Flr 1, you're welcome.

We had actual water pressure out of the faucett. It was too much pressure really. That's the first time in 6 stays that that has happened.

I can confirm that frozen coke is gone, replaced by Gold Peak tea.

The baby pool was still closed.

Most beer was $5.25 per bottle at Everything Pop.

The smoking section outside the food court is still there. I was surprised to find so many smoking sections along Memory Lane. It ruined what used to be a great place to take a walk.

I had Beef and Broccoli from the food court the day we checked in. It was delicious. We got a pizza one night and took it back to the room, not so delicious.

I have about 10 pages of this thread to catch up on. Sorry if some of this is old news.

Glad you had a good time. I figured it was replaced by a Gold Peak machine. This was what they had at ASsports in March and Gold Peak was all over the parks - so it made sense.

It would be good if the smoking sections were just a little more off the beaten path. I'm not saying they shouldn't have them, just a little more hidden and out of the way. But at least there aren't as many people smoking by the rooms anymore (although at the Sports - I still saw it).

The last time we got pizza at a value was at the ASMovies. We said never again, lol.

The slushie machines are gone?? Uh oh... I'd better prepare DS. That's all he put in his mug in December. And what on earth is "Gold Peak"? I've never heard of it...

It's a brand of Tea that you can get in bottles and many fast food restaurants in these machines (like they have at POP now). I know for sure that Baja Fresh has these machines. It's the ONLY tea from a machine I can stomach. It is a Coke brand.

Claire wasn't into the kiddie pool at all this year. She wanted the big pool. They have life jackets there , so we would put one on and she would swim like a fish all over the Hippy Dippy pool

Oh great- I thought I read that but then wasnt sure. Thanks for that heads up

where do you find the calendars on line that tell you what parks have early opening hours or late hours at night and how far in advance do they post them? we are arriving the end of June and I didn't know if they have them planned out that far in advance.

LOL - I saw your room while we were there and took a photo. As a hockey fan close to Canada it was a must. I was actually going to put it on my blog one of these days since I liked it so much.

Here is a link to the Magic Kingdom hours. Just click on the box that shows "Magic Kingdom" and a menu will allow you to select the next park. The box next to it is for the month you want. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...alendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage&date=20090601

Anna from Walt Disney World just personally called me regarding my email from 4/28/2009. She had talked to the people in charge at POP and the slushee machines are permanently gone for now. However, she did say that they take guest’s requests seriously. I asked if enough people requested them to come back, could they? She said that she could not guarantee it, but if there were enough requests they could make a comeback.
I sent an email to: guest.mail@wdw.disneyonline.com

It had my name, full address, email and phone number at the bottom of the letter that read:

Dear Disney World cast members,

My family chose to stay at Pop Century this upcoming September 12-20th. One of the reasons we chose this resort was that guests could use their refillable mugs for Frozen Cokes from the slushee dispenser. It has come to my attention that this machine has been removed. I hope that it is just being repaired and will be back soon. This was one item that allowed our family to choose Pop Century over All Star Sports, where we have stayed twice recently. Please tell me that it will be back soon!

Sincerely,

K…..

Just got back from 14 nights at POP staying in building 9 level 2. Not a bad walk to the buses or food court. Recieved two towel animals, a rabbit and a mickey head. DD went to BBB at Magic Kingdom and was transformed into Jasmine. I tried the tye dye cheesecake. It was yummy. :thumbsup2

We had to call an ambulance in the second week for DD as when runnAing from the Goofy Jets, she tripped on the path banging her forehead. It swelled up straight away and we went to reception with her. Asked for a first aider and the lady said, Do you need a band aid. We showed her millie's head and she said right, I'll ring 911. Luckily she was alright and just needed ice applying and no trip to see a doctor.

Apart from the mishap, we had a great time and would stay there again.

I've just sent my email to Disney begging them to return the Coke Slushie Machine!! Thanks kdzbear for the great idea....maybe if enough of us write/call, maybe they'll see that WE NEED OUR SLUSHIES!!!

Hi everyone!!!

Guess what? I just got back!!!! We had a wonderful time and Pop Century was teriffic!! The bus system was amazing we only waited 15 minutes twice and the rest of the times we didn't wait any longer than 2 minutes... and we took at least 4 busses a day as we always came back to the hotel in the afternoon for a swim or nap... it was sooo hot!!!

Anyway, I plan on writing more very soon... maybe after dinner! Thanks to everyone on this thread for all the great info which helped to make our trip so much more enjoyable!!!:lovestruc

Oh my gosh... this is too funny... you were there at the same time as me, I walked past your room as you were about to take a picture of your window, and we said hello to eachother! :lmao: We walked past your room each morning as we were in the same building, but on the 4th floor! Small world eh!

I sent an email asking for the slushie machines back. Does anyone know if the gold peak tea is sweetened.

I really liked the Gold Peak Tea Machine..

It offers 4 flavours...all cold.

Black Tea Sweetened
Black Tea Unsweetened
