I have been considering signing up for the grocery game. I am pretty good at the CVS type shopping but find I don't have the time I used to for all of it. I make time for CVSing but that is about it. I don't mind the idea of buying certain things one week and other things the next. I discovered I had to do that when grocery store put certain items on sale like cereal but then raise the price of milk. Anyone have any opinions on it? Thanks

I have been using the grocery game for 3 or 4 years and felt it has helped me save quite a bit of money. It didn't seem like it at first because you are working on getting your stock pile, but once that is built up your grocery bills go way down.

I love, love, love the grocery game! I know you can do the same thing for free but it's way too much effort for me and I just wouldn't stick to it the same way.

I use the grocery game to match up the sales with the coupons and stock up on things we use. I go through the list and buy the things we will use and then I add what I call our "needs" the things which aren't necessarily on sale but we need them for the following week. I try to plan my meals around the grocery game list but it doesn't always work that way. I really haven't changed what we eat at all, just when we eat it by trying to make things when it's on sale. I probably don't save as much as I could if I was "hardcore" and willing to totally change up how we eat but I DEFINITELY save way more than I would if I did the whole flyer/coupon match up thing on my own. It's well worth the cost of a subscription!

Check out the 4 week trial, it's only $1 and you can see if you like it with very little cost.

i've used it for almost 3 years now- love it, would never be without it. I think the trial is now free- this is a holiday weekend so sign up next week-not sure if there will be a list this week- better yet- by 2 papers a week for a month- then sign up and you'll have most of the coupons. then you'll have 2 q's to use for a buy one get one- or 2 of something you use. that's how you stockpile. read all the messaage board posts too- it will tell you how to organize- it takes awhile at 1st- LOVE getting a 12.00 razor for under 2.00 or free! Even if you think you don't eat a lot of the q stuff- the savings on health and beauty and cleaners leaves more money for organic or fresh.:woohoo:

I agree - it's well worth the subscription price for anyone who doesn't want to take the time to follow all the various couponing sites and blogs. I don't have the time to do that, but I love having the GG lists already done for me. We have saved around 45% on our groceries since we started using GG last summer -- some people do much better than that, but I don't have time to make it my calling!

With the 4 week free trial they offer, you have plenty of time to try it out and decide before subscribing, so I would do it.

I've done Grocery Game, I found it very easy to use. I am currently using Coupon Mom, it's very similar but Coupon Mom is free. You might do the Grocery Game free trial and Coupon Mom, see how they work for you.
