The Green Lanyard

I was wondering about this one. The doorman at BC has a green lanyard on. He also has a black one on. Does this mean that I can only trade for the pins on his black lanyard, or that I cannot trade with him at all?

The black lanyard is cool to trade with him. The green lanyard is the kids only one.
