The Greatest Trip There Ever Was!

Ok I'm all caught up! Do you know that until we were there in July, I'd never done the People Mover or the CoP either?! :confused3 What were we thinking?!

Landon's interaction with Pooh and Tigger is great! Seriously, I can't wait to bring my own children to WDW one day. Just seeing pictures of Landon enjoying himself so much makes me tear up!

Yours and Stephanie's shirts are so adorable. I forget if you said this but did you make them?

So the whole time I'm reading your updates, I keep thinking, omg I have to tell her how cute this picture is....omg that one too, omg another one!!! lol they are all SO cute but I LOVE LOVE LOVE and am totally going to copy the one of you and Landon looking at the castle with your backs to the camara. That is freaking adorable. And all of the character pictures with him are perfect. You got really lucky with your pics, they are all amazing!

And talk about lucky with the carousel of progress! I think my Conner is going to be a monster on quiet rides like that...maybe you can wish some of your luck my way lol I ca't wait to see where you ate that night! Anywhere on the monorail line has to be awesome!

Ps. I am having one of those terrible mornings where you just want to scream, and reading your TR seriously just made me feel better lol

Great pictures! Your DS is so adorable, I just loved seeing the pictures of him with Pooh & Tigger. Brought back some great memories of my DS when he was a tot.

Did Pooh surpass Buzz after this? Or is Buzz still #1 in his book :goodvibes

Thank you!! I loved him with Pooh and Tigger!! Buzz is still #1 though! He'll hug his Tigger and Pooh stuffed animals every now and then, but he has to take Buzz and Woody with him everywhere and watch the movies everyday.

I guess Pooh and Tig just look safer super-sized!

Oh my goodness. What adorable pics of Landon with Pooh and Tigger! Those guys are just so cuddly.

The photopass pics of you and Landon looking at the Castle are just priceless! You NEED to frame those! I'm such a fan of your jumping pics as well. Wish my family would do those with me!

I love that Landon got to meet Buzz. He can sometimes look a bit scary, so maybe that's why Landon wanted to hold your hand.

Can't wait to hear abour your dinner!

Thank you!! There's so many I want to frame!! Hopefully I can find room for them all!! I'm obsessed with jumping shots. You could always try some by yourself, that's what I did last year. It's not quite as fun, but it works!! I love looking at all the jumping shots we took. In over half of them, one person is always not in the air and they're so funny. There's even a few where the photog took it too early so it's the second before we all jumped and its so funny!

I can imagine how scary it would be for a child to see his favorite thing that's usually pretty small bigger than his mom. It's like whoa! He was more comfortable with characters this first day then any other day though!!

Great update as usual!! I really love those pics of you guys looking towards the castle with your backs to the camera. I have never seen anyone do that shot before and it looks awesome!! :goodvibes

Thank you!! I alays have a bunch of shots planned in my head before I go and this was one of them!! Some of the others didn't work out so well, but I will post them later!

The picture of you and Landon from behind is perfect-- I love the "where dreams come true" caption you chose, too! Fits perfectly!!
Ahhh!! You were so right about cuteness overload with those pictures! That is adorable that he wanted to keep hugging Pooh!

Thanks!! I love that border you can add. Most of the time, the only one I add is the "dreams come true" one, lol!

Mega updates Kimmy! Love all the pictures!

I had a lot to post, I admit!! After, I was like...did I really just do 4 posts in a row? LOL! Thanks!

I love your TR.. your trip looked like it was alot of fun.. Your little Landon is sooo adorable. I love all the Winnie the Pooh Pics... What a cutie he is!!

Thank you!!!

Love all the pics! Landon and Winnie are so cute!

My favorite is the one of you and Landon with your backs to the camera looking at the castle...beautiful shot! :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I really love that one too!! I'm going to treasure it for years to come!!

Great updates and loved the pictures. Congrats on the new job too! Can't wait to read more.

Thanks!!

We're so crazy to have never done People Mover or CoP!! Luckily, now we have done and know and will never skip them again! They are great!!

I can't wait until you bring your own children either!! It's so magical seeing his face light up!! I'm so excited to bring him back again and again and see all his changes through the years!! I feel so blessed that I've been able to take him twice before he's even 2 as a young, single mom!! I wouldn't trade these vacas for anything!!

Steph and I did make our shirts! They were iron-on's from Hobby Lobby.

Thank you!! I think the key to getting good PP pics is to be somewhat pushy with the photogs. I can't tell you how many times I would hand one my card and they'd try to just get our group together, snap one and be done. I'd be like, "Wait...can we do one like this? And then a jumping one? And then a magic shot?" They'd always say yes, but you just got to let them know what you want! Every now and then, there are really great ones that really take their time with poses and fun shots, that you don't even have to do that. But most of the time...you have to tell them!!

I will tell Landon to send some of his quiet vibes to Conner! He was just so mesmerized during every show that he was so good!! Everything like that and every show we did, he was great!! With Conner, you should just try to hold on to him maybe and keep pointing out stuff to him so that he keeps finding stuff to look at and keep him interested? :confused3 I don't really know!! Hopefully, he does okay!!

I'm glad my tr is making you feel better! Sorry you are having a rough morning!!

I knew it was Buzz!

I have to get that TS alien stuff for my nephew. I knew about the hat but the shirts are cute too. He asked specifically for TS stuff and I asked who his favorite was and he said the aliens. So that would be perfect! :thumbsup2

Awwww, how cute is he with Pooh! I love Winnie the Pooh. I think I'm going to give him a big hug when I see him too :)

What great PP pics! I like the jumping one in front of the castle. WOW! Steph was getting some height, wasn't she? I love the princess pics, but really my faves are the ones of you and Landon from behind looking at the castle. You must frame one!!!

I have enjoyed your day through the MK so much. The character interaction seemed to be at it's best. I think the Pooh and Tigger ones are my fave. Love how Landon ran straight to Pooh. How sweet the PP photog caught you kissing Landon. I loved how you described that feeling. That's how I feel about my little one, too. I am so lucky and blessed!

Can't wait to hear more. Loving everything so far!!!

I love all of your PP pictures, you have so many great ones! Girl, do you ever take a bad picture??????
I love the one with you & Landon holding your hands out from past trip & this one!
Landon & Pooh are so adorable together!

Nothing ever gets past you, does it?!

There is a ton of alien stuff so your nephew is in luck. I personally think they should have a little trio of aliens to hang from rearview mirrors like the Pizza Planet guy! That would be awesome, no?

You better give Pooh a big hug!!

She sure did get some height!! It doesn't help that she's already 6 ft without jumping!! I will totally frame one of those pics of me and Landon. I love it too!!

Lukcily, our time at MK is not over for the day! We go back over after dinner, so yay!! I loved the Pooh and Tigger ones too. That was by far the best interaction he had of the whole trip!!

I love all of your PP pictures, you have so many great ones! Girl, do you ever take a bad picture??????

Landon & Pooh are so adorable together!

Thank you!! I do have some bad ones, I just don't put them on the internet!! :rotfl2:

Landon actually learned to wave last year at Disney World, he just wouldn't do it for a picture!! So cute!! I love those ones too though!! :goodvibes

They definitely should have that. I would put it in my car! :)

Will do! I have a stuffed animal Winnie the Pooh that lives on my bed. He's the cutest thing ever.

I have to get everyone to do a jumping pic. I don't know how easily I can talk Adam and Kris into that one...

Aw, the Winnie the Pooh on your bed sounds so cute!! How fun.

I hope you can convince them to do a jumping pic. That would be awesome!! All the cool people do it...

All right guys...here's the wrap up of our first full day!!

We left the Magic Kingdom and hopped on to the monorail for an uber-quick trip to the Contemporary!!! We were there in a snap and loving the resort.

Look how sweet this light is!!

We had dinner ressies at…The Wave!! I have heard tons of rave reviews from this place but honestly wasn’t too excited about it. This was one that Steph had really wanted to try.
DSC00455.jpg

DSC00456.jpg

I love the entrance so much!!

We got the bread and were insanely disappointed. The bread was plain. And the butter…was butter. With salt. Fancy sea salt, but still just salt none the less. It wasn’t bad, just rather plain after our magical macadamia nut butter the previous night.

For entrée, Steph got the pork tenderloin and Dustin and I both got the grilled beef tenderloin (medium rare) with the potato gratin thing, but we each substituted the ratatouille with the bourbon sweet mashed potatoes. Dustin and I are such food twins, it’s ridiculous. We have the same palate and preferences on nearly all food things. Anywho…after the disappointment in the bread, I was expecting more plainness. But…OH. MY. GOSH. This entire plate was so insanely delicious. The sides, the entrée, all of it. In fact…I declared that I wanted this as my last meal. Seriously. Last meal worthy…it was that good. Never, ever in my life have a dubbed something last meal worthy. But this was. It was so, so good!

I got the Creamy Indulgence—which according to All Ears is cheesecake with raspberry coulis, coconut panna cotta with passion fruit drizzle, chocolate-passion fruit mousse with pecan-olive brittle. I only liked the panna cotta!! I was disappointed yet again. So…I’m going to have to go to Kona for my last meal pre-dinner bread, The Wave for my last entrée…and somewhere else for my last dessert. (I’m pretty much love all dessert-except the Wave’s lol-and have not found one that far surpasses the rest.)

Landon was in a very goofy mood during this meal! He was talking away and clapping when the waiter brought out drinks, and just a big goofball. I got a video of him talking and it’s so cute!! The Wave is kind of dim so I apologize that you can’t really see him, but you can hear him and that’s all you need!!

Ahhh that one gets me every time!! I love my little guy!!

After that, we finished our dinner and hopped back onto the monorail to go back to the MK!! There was more fun to be had!! Once we got back, Dustin and Steph needed to go to the bathroom so I told Landon to wait and he went over and sat on some stairs.
DSC00460.jpg

I love his face in that picture of him. The only thing I don’t love is his cemented-down hair!! Darn that lady for putting in so much!! Oh well.

It was about dusk and the castle was just so gorgeous.
DSC00461.jpg

I love seeing the castle in the different times of day!! The lighting here is fantastic. It just takes my breath away!! We got a quick PhotoPass pic of course!!
Photo0139.jpg

Then we split up! We had some more Space fastpasses and Steph didn’t want to go again. Steph took Landon to Fantasyland where I’m pretty sure they mostly just went on the carousel, before quickly glimpsing through one of the stores over there.
100_1246.jpg

Dustin and I had like 10 or 15 minutes until our fastpasses were valid. So…we stopped into Stitch’s. I tried to warn Dustin about the bad reviews and such, but he still wanted to go. Silly me had thought the burp was only the putrid smell. So I held my nose…I was not prepared for the hot breath down my neck. That was the most disgusting thing ever. When I think about it, I still get the heebie jeebies. Bleh!

Then we take another ride on Space! Whenever Dustin and I go on rides together, we scream our most terrified sounding screams the whole time!! It’s hilarious. I love it. Except in our ride picture this time, he looks completely bored and I look like a goober.
DSC00463.jpg

Then we head towards Fantasyland where we were planning on meeting Steph!! I saw some stuff on the new Fantasyland and the “Be Our Guest” restaurant, so I took some pics for you guys!!
DSC00465.jpg

DSC00466.jpg

But, of course, Stephanie was in front of the castle and not behind it in Fantasyland. I had totally forgot about the Main Street Electrical parade timing since we had been planning on leaving after our Space ride and catching the parade on our last night. So we got stuck behind it! I guess there are worse places to get stuck!! I was okay with it!
DSC00476.jpg

Dustin sat Landon on his shoulders so my little man could see the parade!! He LOVED it.
DSC00470.jpg

DSC00477.jpg

DSC00482.jpg

I couldn’t really see at all, but that didn’t matter. I mostly watched Landon’s face the whole time and in my mind, that was way better than anything Disney could ever put on. I just love seeing his face light up as he takes it all in and the magic is real to him. So much of my time there is spent looking at him and watching his face. It truly is the most magical thing ever. I love it.

After the parade, we headed back towards the exit and enjoyed a quiet ride back to Pop. Landon fell asleep on the way and got all wound up again when we got back to our hotel of course. I gave him a bath and attempted to scrub the gel out of his hair. He went even more nutso in bed tonight. He was just shouting random things and hitting the bed and I’m pretty sure he started meowing at one point. We were all trying so hard not to laugh, but it was hilarious. Eventually, we all fell asleep after a perfect day in the Magic Kingdom.

Great update! Thanks for the review of The Wave, it was one that I was unsure of. I think we will skip it, I like my whole meal to be good..:rotfl: The pic of you and Dustin is great, I think you nailed the explanation of the facial expressions/poses!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pic of Landon watching the parade :lovestruc I have pics of Olivia with the same look (we really need to take a trip together, our kiddos are a lot alike). The part that was my favorite was when Landon started meowing!!!!!!!!! I literally starting laughing out loud!!! That was HYSTERICAL :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I think it was even funnier because after I put Olivia to bed tonight I had to tell her to stop making frog noises! As usual, I can't wait to read more!

omg i love the video!!! Thats so cool that he says "Disney!" and all of the character names!!! Conner isn't quite there just yet but I will be sure to practice from here on out lol

The Wave looks awesome, I love the entry way. Have you been inside of the Coral Reef restaraunt??? If you liked The Wave, you would LOVE the Coral Reef, its beautiful!

Can't wait to read more!popcorn::

I hope you can convince them to do a jumping pic. That would be awesome!! All the cool people do it...

They're not cool enough to hang with us. :cool2:

I was flipping through the Birnbaum's Disney book yesterday (we have them in our office for sale :rolleyes1 ) and I saw the Wave was listed as the best overall restaurant in WDW. :confused3 I've never tried it.

Nice Space Mountain pic! :rotfl: Making up for lost time I guess? :)

I hate the Stitch ride. I went on it once and never again. I really hope no one is interested in it this trip....

What a great update! I love the video of Landon at dinner. There is something about little voices that just make me smile. We're very excited about seeing the MSEP in a few weeks (can't believe I just said that!). I haven't seen it since I was really little, so I don't really remember it.

Thanks. I'm sure I'm just dramatic with the Wave. The bread wasn't necessarily bad, just plain!! And everyone loved their dessert about me. They just tried to go to fancy and weird if you ask me. Just give me something chocolately with ice cream and I'll be happy!! :rotfl: I think the pictures where Dustin looks bored like that because he's usually always the weirdest/craziest one but somehow, it's near impossible to catch it on camera!!

Our kiddos are a lot a like!! We will need to meet up there sometime!! I was dying when he was meowing. It was so funny!! That's hilarious that Olivia was making frog noises. Landon can't make frog noises without crouching down and hopping too!! :rotfl2: So cute!! I don't even know where he learned how frogs jump like that!!

omg i love the video!!! Thats so cool that he says "Disney!" and all of the character names!!! Conner isn't quite there just yet but I will be sure to practice from here on out lol

Thank you!! Landon loves all his characters and knows them pretty well. He knows almost all the Toy Story characters from watching it so much!! One time, I thought he was trying to say Buzz and Woody together, and then realized he had been saying "Wheezy!" It's so cute. You gotta work on Conner!! Disney characters are important parts of vocabulary!!

I love, love, love the Coral Reef!! You are right!! I actually went for my 2nd time this trip!! :goodvibes

They're not cool enough to hang with us. :cool2:

Definitely not cool enough to hang out with us. I bet certain boys from the Backstreet and some kids who are new and on the block would totally jump with us!! :rotfl2:

Hmmm I wouldn't call the Wave the best in Disney overall. I don't get how they can have such fancy, creative things and have the most boring, plain bread ever. I think they under-did it on the bread and over-did it on the dessert.

I just had to make up for lost time on Space. (Did you see on FB how many times I went on ToT?? Had to get in enough rides to last me a while!!)

If anyone is interested in Stitch, make them go alone while you do something cooler!! :rotfl: Or just be like "Go buy me a chili dog and I'll eat it. Then you close your eyes while I burp down your neck and in your face. It's the same experience in a lesser amount of time!"

Thank you!! I love listening to little voices talk to!! It's so cute. MSEP is great!! Are you planning on buying your PhotoPass cd? They throw in some pro pics of the parade!! They are really nice!! I was like, "how did these get here?!" And then I saw them on another Dis'ers page and realized they just automatically add them!

So glad to hear that The Wave ended up being much more than you expected. We've never eaten there but I am thinking it may be a possibility next trip.

I loved the pictures of Landon watching the nighttime parade. Isn't it wonderful seeing Disney through your child's eyes?!?!

We are going to prepurchase the photopass cd. That is so cool that they throw in some parade pics!

wow i had like 5 updates to read, they were all good and great pictures so way to go.
:thumbsup2

very nice face on space mountain:laughing:

Hi Kimmy!

I am loving your TR...you remind me of...well ME, when my son was little.

He's 17 now. :sad1:

I think its so cool you and your friends went together to take Landon...those are special memories in the making for sure. :thumbsup2

Waiting (im)patiently for more! popcorn::
