The Great Pink Mickey Croc Tour..last pics 08/09, last words 08/15

I'm here! Actually, I'm a local so I never left. Silversae came to visit us from Canada so we've been taking her around the parks and the rest of Central Florida. I don't know if we're going to do a trippie this time, I think we'll hold off until October with Food and Wine and then our mini cruise - we'll have more to say then :thumbsup2

Oops! I forgot where you live! Glad you had a good time with Silversea. I'll look forward to your next TR, whenever it is!

I did not know that at hoop dee doo, you can get a family picture like at Chef Mickeys! We will be eating at there for the first time in Aug.
Where is the the area located? Can this picture be put on you photo pass card?

Your TR is great. I can't wait to hear what your dream was!

Thanks so much for reading! It was very exciting for us! I will share soon...:rolleyes1

When you check in for HDD right outside the "theatre" they have a CM greeting you and asking you to step in line for a picture. The setup is right across from the front porch. No, they didn't let us put it on our photopass. I scanned it in after I got home. One pleasant surprise for me was that it wasn't so hard to get there. I heard people say that you had to take the boat over from MK, then get on a bus.... We took the boat across, which was fairly quick, then when we got off the dock, it was just right there - no big deal. The buses waited on the other side of the restaurant afterwards - very easy to get back, too! Enjoy!:dance3:

Friday, June 9th. Today we had 8am ADRs for Breakfastsaurus at AK!!! We were really excited because this character meal is an opportunity to meet Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto for sure! I love the classic guys! In our family, we all have to have a favorite Disney Character - our DILs were a little perplexed by this at first, but they have learned;) My fav is Mickey himself! I just love the fact that he is THE MAN!!!

We got on the bus right on time today! We thought we had the bus thing figured out by now. Later in the day, we find out how wrong we are :sad2: But this morning, we are good. We arrived about 7:45am - now we thought we would be there before park opening and therefore be first in line after breakfast....oops! It was EMH, so once we went through bag check, there was a line already waiting to go through the gate at 8! :scared1: I saw some nice CMs to the right with a clipboard and asked if they were taking names for breakfast - they were! :woohoo: They directed us to an empty turnstile, while making announcements that "this line is for breakfast check-in only!" Now, I get right up to the front, they are ready to let me in - and I turned around - guess where my family was? I'll bet you have seen the pattern - in the bathroom. So, they made me step aside until the rest of my group was there, and  they opened up MY LINE to everyone waiting! Now, I was not going to miss my appointment with Mickey, so I did a really non-dis thing :upsidedow - I cut to the front of the line and loudly announced to the CM that my party was together and we wanted in! She remembered me and we were in! :yay: Now, the check-in for breakfast was confusing, also. We had a little trouble finding the restaurant, and the CMs had a desk outside - they took our names, and didn't tell us what to do. Then, we noticed everyone checking in and getting in a line down the porch. We were in the line, and then noticed that it was for a pic we didn't really want, so we jumped out. We were finally called in for our table.

I loved the theme in Restaurantsaurus! It looks like a Quansut hut, you know the domed metal buildings from WWII. The idea seems to be an archeological dig base from the 30s or 40s. The buffet was delicious - pretty impressive for a breakfast buffet. The CM told us to be ready because the "boys" would be out to meet us all at once, and they would announce them when they were coming out!
We had time to dish up our plates before the characters came out:

When Mickey came to our table, Jedi said, "Hey Mickey! You're my biggest fan!" :rotfl: Mickey gave him a :thumbsup2

We had a great breakfast, and didn't feel rushed at all! We finished our meal at 9am - plenty early to get our fast pass for EE! I am going to leave you here as it's time for dinner.

Next Time: We won a Dream!!!!

When I left off, we were finishing breakfast and off on an expedition to Everest! Grumpy ran up to get a FP for EE, and we retrieved our stroller - it was already smokin' hot out! We headed off to the Safari - we intended to get a FP, but the line was short  so we got in line, and were loaded in about 15 minutes! We loved the drama, and saw lots of animals -

The giraffes - one decided to cross back and forth across the road right in front of us and then stand right next to the jeep when we stopped!

The Zebras were there!
MasonMay2007DisneyVacationJune20-96.jpg

The Ostrich also decided that they would conduct a jeep inspection while we were there. It was funny! I couldn't get a good pic while this happened, but here is one, along with some kind of crazy antelope:
MasonMay2007DisneyVacationJune20-95.jpg

We toured the jungle trail that is right there at the exit to KS, can't remember the name - saw some little rodents in a "shed" and lots of birds, then the gorillas:

more to follow!

i'm so behind on your TR!!!!! silly me thought you hadn't updated lately because i was going by the 07/05 date in the subject line......i've got some catching up to do!!!

Sorry for the quick exit Wed. - had to go hold my new grandaughter - with DGS, 2 in tow!

Okay, we were at AK, having a really hot time! :sunny: It was time to head off to EE and use our FP!
Along the way, we saw these guys:

Now, this ride is great
MasonMay2007DisneyVacationJune20-85.jpg

- I however, have not yet developed the coordination of: screaming loudly, holding on real tightly, closing my eyes, taking pics while not dropping the camera - so I did not get an autographed pic of the Yeti! :rotfl2: I did love the theming, and this ride has lots of twists and turns and surprises - lots of fun! A little corny, but it was okay. I really expected the Yeti to be somehow creepier. But... the ride backwards in the dark...OMG! It was great! I have just become a coaster convert recently, and still don't think that Islands of Adventure or Six Flags would be my choice yet, but I LOVE THIS RIDE!!!!

As we got back, I was breathing hard, touching myself to be sure I was still alive, and didn't really pay attention to what was going on. I heard some kind of announcement, and everyone started clapping - "hmm," I thought "I guess they said we survived our mission?" We started unloading, and everyone was stopping and being handed something. Free Souvenier? SWEET!!! I held out my hand thanked the CM - didn't notice what she was wearing - I took two steps, looked down "A DREAM FASTPASS!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: I had seen some people at DL using one in April - wondered how to get one. I ran back and asked the CM - "IS THIS ONE OF THOSE FASTPASSES????" Yes??? Are you sure??? I screamed " OH THANK YOU!!!" She was laughed at my reaction :lmao: I love how much joy giving out these surprises gives the CMs. Part of the magic! Here is a pic of the FP:
hpim0478.jpg

Wow! This changed our whole day! I was really wishing for this dream more than even the Cinderella stay, because it is a FP! We could do anything, anytime!!! Now Princess, who had laughed and screamed the whole time, was jumping up and down :yay: "can we do it again?" This time, I could say yes - however because my legs were still shaking, I said "lets come back and do this one later after I recover - we can do it anytime we want!" I was wrong about this one. :sad2:

We moved out to It's Tough to be a bug

MasonMay2007DisneyVacationJune20-91.jpg

We had hardly any wait - didn't get to use our magic pass! We were disappointed - we had this great FP, felt like celebreties, and no one wanted to know! :rotfl: The kids really loved the show, and it was really fun to watch them squirm at the end!

After a bathroom break, we headed to the Tusker House for lunch. We love the wraps and I'm not sure what else - but we love this CS for lunch.

We headed out to Dinoland - hopped on Dinosaur with our regular FP, knowing that we could come back later with the Dream FP of course!
This ride is really fun - we had fun trying to "pose" for the pic - Princess did a good job of acting terrified! We should have bought the Pic - it was really fun. I wish they would let you scan some of these to the photopass.

We stopped to use a snack credit for mickey bars and cokes. Jedi ate his mickey bar over my hat, and filled it up with chocolate :scared1: One of those wierd accidents you just don't think about with kids. So, I threw the hat out. What a shame - it was lime green! :goodvibes

All except Grumpy hopped on Primeval Whirl, despite the negative comments I had seen about it on the DIS. We loved it! It was so fun being tossed around the corners and flying up and down the little dips. I AM easily entertained ;) We headed back to EE - and it was broke down :sad2: I felt so bad for not jumping right back on when Princess wanted to.

Oh well, we went to Festival of the Lion King - awesome as usual. The kids and Alice loved it! We didn't do Maharajah, even though we meant to - it was so hot, we were just about delirious! I stopped taking pics, it was all we could do to keep walking and drinking enough water and frozen lemonade!

We headed back to Safari - it was great - we saw different animals in the afternoon. Kali River Rapids - the ride got stuck - we were on the ramp in the beginning for about 10 min :rolleyes1 We loved the ride and got totally soaked! It really felt good at this time.

Let's see another try at EE - nope. We did dinosaur another time, and by that time we were really doing poorly from the heat. Jedi got real pale and acted like he was about to pass out. We kept encountering drink stands and lemonade stands that were closed. COME ON DISNEY - it is so hot, and we had to walk a long way to find something open! We did find a shop for frozen coke and lemonade - I started up the steps and was greeted by a scarey CM who said they were closed. I just about lost it - she asked what was wrong and I told her we couldn't find anything to drink, and Jedi was about to pass out. She said I could buy a water, but no slushy. Oh really??? The CM inside said I could have one - so I ordered a frozen lemonade with a pluto straw to bring home for DGS. Just as he is explaining to me that the machine is not working, and he won't be able to give me a truly slushy one - the first CM came in hands on hips - staring.

We headed over to a gift shop, bought matching t-shirts for the pink mickey croc girls and a few other items. Now, being so hot, and wanting to get a shower before dinner, we decided to head out to the buses.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Okay, I guess I'd better finish this day later - You know how in the cartoons ZZZZZZ is for sleep? Well, I have fallen asleep during my typing twice with my finger on the d - with these results:
sdddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd=

Thanks - I loved your TR! I have a busy Monday, but I'll try to post more tonight.

I wish! It has a little tab on it for each ride, which you have to turn in as your use it, so you only get to go on each ride once. But, we had gotten FP for a couple before we got that, so we got to do those twice. I would suggest getting FP early for anything you can until all the FP are gone, then using the dream FP and do everything again! That will work if you don't have to leave for naps! :) Thanks for reading!

It's great that you got the dream fastpasses! :thumbsup2

Too bad about EE, but it sounds like it was a blast the first time.

I love Flame Tree BBQ, but after seeing TRs with Tusker House (including yours), I'm tempted to try that this trip!

Thanks, it was great to have the Drfeam FP! We loved the Tusker House the first time we were there, and my DS didn't like the BBQ, so we just stuck to what we knew, and I was trying to find as many healthy choices as possible. Your trip is getting close!

When I left, we were leaving AK, and heading for the bus. Grumpy and I wanted to go to DTD to get a graduation gift for our DIL, and Alice and the kids wanted to go back to the resort to swim, so we decided to split up.

We made our way out to the huge bus stop at AK - looks like Grand Central Station (a little bit) We wanted a DTD bus - remember they are hard to find! We watched Alice, Jedi and Princess from across the way, get on the SSR bus - Grumpy suggested several times that we to to SSR with them and just walk to DTD as the DTD bus just never comes, but I was sure this time would be different! we waited, and waited and :rolleyes1 Now it was about 98 and 99% humidity - we had been hard pressed to find anything to drink, and we were dog tired from all of the back and forth walking (not complaining you know ;) ) So, it took about 45 minutes for the bus, but it felt like an hour. When the bus came, it was the DTD bus, but also Typhoon Lagoon:scared1: Guess what time it was??? Right! Closing Time!!!! So, we timed this one - 30 minutes in to the park to get up to the bus stop - HUGE TRAFFIC JAM - then, it was 40 minutes back out to the highway. Then a stop at PI - finally DTD. By the time we got to DTD, it was 2 hours since we left the gates at AK!!!!

I was getting seriously overheated by this time - you know that wierd fuzzy, ringing in your ears feeling? I was starving, but didn't want to eat - just give me something to drink!!!! We stopped at the frozen lemonade stand and got some lemonade - and a pretzel to share. Still feeling like a POW, We made our way over the the crystal store to order the plaque/picture frame that I had been told at MK I could get here. "We don't have those here m'aam, I don't know why they sent you here." Now, I am usually a reasonable person, I can usually take care of myself, but I was so hot and tired and desperate, that I turned around to get help from Grumpy and he was gone :confused3 I tell you, I seriously wanted to sit down in the middle of the store and cry like a 4 year old!

I wandered around, waiting for Grumpy to come back - I started getting all kinds of crazy ideas for the gift we were seeking. Finally, Grumpy came back and convinced me that the plain, smaller version of the plaque would be fine, and we special ordered it with butterflies on it - her name and school and grad date - turned out beautiful! The engraving was really reasonable!

Okay, now just a short walk to our resort, right? I'm telling you it felt like 10 miles! We stopped by AP to grab something to take back to the room - I think we cleared the place after our hot day :rotfl: If you were there that day, we're really sorry, we were just so desperate! We tried to call Alice to see if she wanted to join us, or to find out what they were doing. No Answer. As we got to our building with our plates, Alice and the gang were coming out to go to AP to eat! We told them we would meet at the pool later, and went up for a much needed shower and dinner.

We never did make it to the pool, but Alice called after she put the kids down, and she and I split a bottle of wine on her veranda, which had a very nice view of the SSR resort area and a courtyard. She had double doors instead of a slider - very elegant! We had a nice "sister visit" and I'm glad we had that time together. With one more day for her and the kids, we decided to tour the rest of MK in the morning, the lands at Epcot in the afternoon, and back to CP at MK for dinner.

Next Time: "Is this a Hurricane?"

Okay, here's why we made this trip: About half-way through Wishes, Jedi looked up at me and said, "I have a tear in my eye!" "Why?" "I just want to keep this memory in my heart forever. I want to bring my children back here, and their children, and even their children! I want to make it a family tradition!"

I had a tear in MY eye!

I was waaayyyy behind in reading your trippie, Tammie, but I'm all caught up now. Couple of comments....

Wow! I'm so impressed with Jedi's magical memory moment. That absolutely would have made the trip worth it so much more than it already had to have been.

Fastpass?!!! Very cool!! I'm also impressed with some of the dining events you've spoken of.

Finally, sister time with a bottle of wine....another priceless moment. :)

Again, thanks so much for sharing this experience with Alice and her munchkins.

I don't know if I could ever do Disney in the summer. It sounds soooo hot and humid.

The wine on the balcony sounds wonderful.
