Yes! I had credits and used some miles so that leg cost me $20!
That is awesome!
Very dark! Oh well, once we get into Jan it will start to improve, right?

not so sure. I think it will only be worse by January. Oh well...
I can't get my arms around shooting, near Disney...at night! that's nuts. I thought Duck hunting was uber early in the am but what do I know! Yeah, that would make me speed up too I'd think.
Or hide.
No, no... that was up in Fall City. Still it was unsettling to me to hear the shots. Course, it isn't like I don't hear them out this way too. The elk are coming down again and it always draws the "lazy" hunters.
I still use it as a log, which is a bit of a pita as I modify every single run to match the watch but still, I like having it in one place and am too invested to try another. I don't think it would make a difference really, you are stuck with your phones connection and GPS and well, there are dead spots!
Lately I think I have been having a worse time. I wonder if it is the clouds...but ya know you are right...kinda stuck with it since I am too invested in it to start something else.
I don't think you need to go over 13. I know Jeff feels if you can do 10, you can do 13. It's more a matter of if you want to go over, just to see if you can in my mind. Could it hurt? No. Is it needed, I don't think so.
I worry a bit.... two weeks ago I did 10 no problem. Then last week was the start of a not so good running week. We had a storm (not sure how bad Sat was for you..but out here the morning was not good) I only went 5..5 1/2 miles. The wind pushed me to the side and my hip and knee hurt after the run. I had to hard plant in order to not be pushed over by the gusts. Monday was good enough and I went farther than I normally do for my "fast run" days. Tuesday was "normal" Thursday I managed 7.3, but I ended up shaving the skin off my ankle (I did it while running and did not realize until I looked down and saw my shoe was soaked with blood.) YUCK! Didn't hurt too much.... then I woke yesterday and knew I was sick. Not sure I did myself any favors running like that yesterday...but I did manage 7.75 miles. Slowed my pace way down in order to do that... I just am not sure I am making my long runs long enough. Next saturday is the Turkey Trot... and that is only a 5k.. Do I go out for an additional 7+ miles that day or maybe just do it on sunday? I really feel like I should get at least 10 in.
A year from original booking.
That will be cutting it close. I booked the flight on 10/17. Even if Steve and I stay longer at the beach (we will be in WDW for a week and then some time down in Sarasota) we should be fine. I can't see us staying longer than a week in Sarasota...probably just a couple days. That has our return flight sometime around 10/12- 10/16
Alex and Zoe will not be flying anywhere by next October, so I guess we will lose that credit.
So is this over ToT weekend next year? Will you both do it? Kids?

FUN!
Nope, it will be just the two of us...and yes, for ToT weekend. It will be to celebrate our 25 year anniversary.
Tough call, I do think she can do it...but yes, I'd want to be along side...or have you guys stationed at intervals to look for her. Big step!
I took her out yesterday and she managed to run .82 miles...so I am sure she will be able to do it...but I like that idea of having us stationed around to look for her. One at start, one midway and one at finish. That sounds not to bad, right?
Lunch does sound a bit car dependent. In some ways a car can be lovely, in others a total pain. Either way sounds like the tickets may be a little bit of a pain.
and I just started to throw in the fp+ into the scenario...so it may even be more complicated.
Resort to resort is a pain, especially later at night, I can see where a car would be good, and vastly improve the chances of everyone making it to dinner!
If only the cost wasn't quite as high. I have been checking, but it almost seems like using a taxi would be our better option.
Then again...Kira and Josh could take cab, as could the rest of you. I always try to balance out cab cost versus the car rental for the whole time period if it's really only going to be a concern/need a few times.

exactly! I am wondering if this isn't a better option after all.
Ann, I think your plans of having Zoe race on Thursday are good ones.
Thank you!
As for the rental car, it gets pricey getting a bigger car to fit all of you in unless you can find a really good deal.
Since there would be no time where all of us would HAVE to ride together I wouldn't worry about getting a car big enough to fit all of us... but so far no deals seem to be had anyway.
Unfortunately, we were not a fan of Ohana's dinner at all; glad we tried it once, but won't be going back. If no parks are open and you all have the energy AND a car, there's always mini-golf.
It is Steve's #1. I like it well enough but could skip it. Josh has never been and we are sure he would love it just like Steve. Kira would like to skip it since she really doesn't care for it. Sadly though, we will finish pretty late. There won't be anything else we do that night.
I have rented a car on my last couple trips (with the exception of my quick weekend get away) and I have loved it. I keep looking into it for this coming week but I cannot justify the car for just one person as much as I would like to.
How did it go? Looked like it was a fun race!
So far the first day plans look great.
Well, just when I think I have a handle on it...then I start to look at fp+. I was able to set up some for the thursday night so we will see if that goes well or not.
I am sure Zoe will do great with the MM. Maybe instead of running with her try and station yourselves along the route verses run with her. Maybe have you drop her at the start, have Alex or Steve at the halfway point then the other at the end. Definitely understand your apprehension though!
Great minds! That is kinda what I was thinking!!! Or then again, I could just make Alex run it with her.

I am sure he would love that. He has to tag along with us on a race next weekend. Zoe will have hers first and then Steve and I ours... while we are running Alex has to be there to stay with Zoe. You would think I asked him to pull out his own teeth.
Told you I started reading this!

Read the whole thing; sorry for the replies to old posts but I'm just learning some of this.
PLEASE! I am barely started. You are not replying to that old of posts!!!
So sorry she has to deal with this. That was an AMAZING description of the issue, though, thank you for that.

She handles most things well. And as for my description... I am an over sharer...and as such I tend to be able to overly describe EVERYTHING
My aunt says she's not allergic to latex, BUT avocados, mangos, and bananas cause problems for her, and I think those are all on the pseudo-latex list, aren't they? Weird, eh?
Those all are on that list. I would think latex also gives her trouble.
Although I'm sure it's frustrating for the allergy doctor, I think it's amazing and excellent that you have a doctor that has such a thing going on with herself! Another doctor might not believe it, but you found the perfect one.
We really lucked out on finding this pediatrician. In march (not sure if you caught this) our family doctor of 13 years closed her practice. We had a great relationship with her. The adults in the family have not been so lucky in finding a doctor to replace her with.
(though I did read later that she did test positive for all sorts of things...on some small level I can relate....one of the reasons I'm no longer a Californian (ran away for college in Tacoma when I was 17 and haven't lived in CA since!) is because I tested positive to EVERYTHING local/environmental they tested me for...the last 2 years of my life there are a blur, I barely remember anything, because I was either sneezing constantly OR drugged up so I didn't sneeze.)
I think this surprised all of us! It sounds like it was a good move for you to come up this way. I hope that she doesn't end up moving somewhere else to get away from all her allergies.
If you could forget the PINK medal and just go with any C2C medal, you could do the
Disneyland Half over Labor Day next year and it would count with January.... Wait, you are doing the Half in Jan? Not the full?
Anyway, my point is, I'm planning on doing just what I described. No pink medal, but a C2C all the same!
I worry that DL half would be too hot for me. I like living up here and running in such pleasant temps. (even if it does rain) It is definitely something to consider though. WDW half and then DL half....

... then drop down for the ToT in October.

....
I know it's not all that close to you, but the Tacoma City Marathon group puts on a
Half over St Paddy's day....
Nothing is all that close to me

but Tacoma isn't that far...maybe even closer than Seattle. Last year the St. Paddy's day i did was in Puyallup. It wasn't my most favorite race... but they did give some great post race food!
You are AMAZING! What a great time!
Thank you.
Wow, you guys win a lot at the Adventure Runs! I'll have to do it again some time. Man, and I thought I won some stuff, but it was a Baskin Robbins GC (we don't eat their ice cream, though I guess I've never checked their ingredient lists for the corn syrup based ingredients we have to avoid), free breadsticks at some place at Kent Station, and a GC for Cal's (which actually was pretty amazing food). No shoes, though!
I am not sure what it is. Being blessed...lucky...

We tend to win more than our fair share. Kira and I went to a CK scrapbook convention on friday just to pop in. This use to be a focus for us. We would stay in a hotel... spend the weekend...go to classes. It was a BIG deal. Those days we took home many prizes. However with life being so busy lately, the scrapbooking hobby has not had a lot of focus. Yet we took the afternoon to just head up to the vendor fare. Sure enough... Kira won a door prize.

I think she and I would be dangerous if we went to Vegas...and if we gambled.
The flight has to be within the year.
I mentioned it to Cynthia as well... sounds like we will be fine then. We will cut it close as we at the latest will fly home on 10/16 and I booked the flight on 10/17. Zoe and Alex will lose their credit... so that kinda stinks. I wish there was a way to use theirs on ours.
Poor Steve. Feel free to use us as a "see, other people do even sillier things!" example.

We just have too few points. Never thought 160 would be too few. But we bought direct, Bay Lake, and we financed.

If we'd spent what we have spent so far on some OKW contracts, we'd never have to pay OOP for a hotel room, that's for sure!
I think it is always a matter of more could be better...and buying direct definitely cuts down on how many points you get. We were lucky in purchasing a nice enough sized resale.
Mickey Mile...you know, even though my kidlet has no health issues, I wouldn't have felt comfy with him running the mile alone last year at 8. This year at 9 I'm OK with it, though part of me hopes that at the last minute he'll ask me to go in with him. So I'm with you on wanting to keep an eye on Miss Zoe.
Zoe will be just shy of 9 when we go... I do like the idea of having us position ourselves around the course so that I can watch her.... we wills see.
