Having started my great bathroom re-fit back in February and schedule it to take a week
, I have finally managed to fit the WC
I now have a bath, shower, basin and a working WC
Just need to complete the tiling and fit new doors on the airing cupboard.
While I fitted the WC, DW and DDs cleared off shopping in Leicester while I was left to struggle, having only Barney the Black Lab for help (did I say help!!!). Taking the old WC out was easier than I thought (and less smelly!). I then tiled the wall where the WC would be fitted and put the new flooring down (to save having to cut round the pan afterwards). The water inlet to the new cistern was on the opposite side to the old one, so I had to do some extra pipe work. The area I was most worried about - connecting the waste pipe, was very easy and I was lucky that the new pan outlet was in the same position as the old one, so a standard waste pipe fitting was all that was needed
Barney the dog was SO helpful, every time I put a tool down he took it downstairs for me
After I took the old toilet out, he decided that the space left was a great place to sleep! He also seemed to think that I needed constant washing - he insisted on licking my forehead as I worked - must have been the sweat
I will post photos when I've completed the tiling
