Don't know who Eddie Izzard is, but I'm jealous that you're at the Grand Canyon. We went there in 2007 with the kids. You haven't lived until you take Christian to the Grand Canyon EEEEEEKKKK! Thankfully, we were staying in Williams, AZ, and rode the train up there and back(6hr stay.) I don't think my heart could have taken much more. He was just fascinated by the wall that goes around it. Made me a nervous wreck.

I wanna go back in a couple years with just me and DH. I would love to see it at sunrise and sunset. The colors change hourly and the whole place is so other-worldly. Hope you're having a wonderful time!

Ok, so Eddie Izzard is a comedian and in one of his shows he does a segment where he talks about the word "awesome". I believe he was talking about outer space and how it is awesome in the original use of the word. Then he talked about a package of hot dogs he saw once - "Awesome Hot Dogs". Therefore, the Grand Canyon is awesome like a hot dog but in the original meaning of the word and not the watered down cliche meaning it has now.
