The good, the bad, performance enhancing drugs, and the magic…my first TR

Interesting comments from the CMs regarding BLT.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your first DVC stay. Hopefully that one be pain free!

I think you deserve a medal. I know if I had 10 days with my extended family I might never want to go back to WDW again. :scared1:

I have a husband with a bad back, he has had surgery twice. I feel your pain. We went to Disney when he was hobbling. It was so sad to see him in this shape. 10 days with extended family!? You are braver than us. We will go with our married children, but we all still split up some each day, then meet back up. Everyone needs their space. Glad you did get better as the trip went on.

Thanks for the sentiments, guys and gals!!!

To be honest, we considered cancelling but I didn't want to b/c our last trip was over 2 years ago. I was willing to suffer for my family's joy!!!

Now here are a couple of details I still managed to leave out--unbelievable!!!

1) On our way to TL in the a.m., we were turning left at CBR towards bridge between Trinidad N and Jamaica and a Jeep hits our bus---true story!!! No one was hurt, and the Jeep and bus had on minor cosmetic damage---but we were in a Disney bus and got in a wreck...we were so tickled that we had gotten a "private" bus (i.e. only ones on it) to TL, and then brakes slam, horn blaring, and a loud crunching noise. We had to wait for 30 minutes on the bus for DT management to talk to us according to the driver, then when they got there they put us on another bus and sent us on our way. DW had to fill out a statement regarding the accident as it was the other driver's fault since our bus didn't have a stop sign---wow!!!

2) More bus woes...MIL and SIL/nephew were on the way to MK via bus to get to CR for Chef Mickey's dinner, and about 500 feet from the station the bus LOSES POWER!!! Did our party have the worst luck or what?!? So the bus driver had to walk all the passengers single file to the bus load zone at MK b/c they all insisted on getting off the bus. Management wanted them all to remain on the bus for another bus to transport them. The driver said this had happened to the same bus about 6 weeks prior and "I thought they had fixed it."---again, wow!!!

3) On the bright side, our last night in the parks we were at MK for the EMH and wound up in Tomorrowland prior to park closing...when I see the CoP spinning in the distance. DS was sleeping and tended to and DD wanted to ride Buzz...DW let me ditch daddy duty and ride CoP...what a treat. This is one of my all time faves as an old-school Disney buff, I can't help but think it's one of the last times I'll ever ride it, but will gladly make time for CoP when it's open and I'm there!! Great way to cap off a horrible trip!!!

4) Ohhhh...almost forgot...yet another bus woe...this one my fault! I was trying to secure one of my strollers then move to the back of the bus when the driver suddenly took off, long story short he whipped around a curve and I landed on my butt/back!!! I was so scared b/c I felt my back tense up, but I sat for a moment, collected myself, and got up no problem or after effects---whew!!!:worried:

Gosh, I'm not sure #4 was your fault. That's cowboy driving, at least the way I see it. You are a good sport. I hope you continue to feel better and improve so that you're tip top shape!

Bobbi:)

Great report thanks for posting:goodvibes

I hope your back is better....must have been tough dealing with that....and the "extended" family;)

Funny CR never had much appeal for me....too modern....but DH always was fascinated by the place. I told him "jokingly" that they are building DVC at the Contemporary....and "YOU" might have to add on there(I'm the disney lover). He said I think I might:idea: Whoa that was easy:yay: :goodvibes

We were in an accident at Disney too. Our bus was pulling out from its stop at DtD and struck another bus. No one was hurt, but by the looks of things those two busses would be out of service for awhile. We were never told that we had to stick around to talk to a Disney rep, but we did anyway. It was 2am, so a lot of people on our bus opted to take a cab back to their resort. It probably took 20 minutes to talk to the rep and get onto another bus. The rep was very nice, and we passed the rest of the time talking to two guys who were there for a Six Flags conference (go figure).

You guys seemed to have some serious problems with the busses, and to think people complain about having to wait 15 minutes and having to deal with other people's "evil" strollers.

Thanks for the TR:) .

Great report!! Extended family and a bad back?! Sound like torture (I bet the back pain was no picnic either! ;) )
