Well, with the new dining reservation changes, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get reservations at the places times I wanted for our trip in April. Good news!!! I was able to get every restaurant at the exact time I wanted! The only exception was the Plaza in MK, and it wasn't because it wasn't available, but for some reason, the Plaza wasn't acception reservations beyond 4:30 or 5:00. Not sure what's going on there since it's the week of Easter, but I'll call back. :thumbsup2

The bad news. My mom and dad were going with us to Vero this summer, but told us they can't go now (not a health issue or anything like that, thank goodness!). We have a 2-BR, but with the 4 of us, we really don't need a 2-BR. I called to see if I could switch from a 1-BR to a 2-BR, and the only nights available were F and S. :guilty: I didn't waitlist at this point. We have points from two contracts being used for the existing reservation, so changing and being credited back points isn't straight forward. Plus, the banking deadlines are different, so...have to think through how that would work. Worst case...will keep the 2-BR and have extra space.

I have a lock-off, so why can't I just keep the 1-BR and give them back the studio! :rolleyes1 Just kidding. I know it doesn't work this way! So, for anyone who has ever waitlisted at VB, is it likely the reservation would come through? Just curious.

Frankly, I think it would be worth posing the lock-off question to MS. You never know (if you haven't already).

Otherwise, It will be an extra special time for (I'm assuming) the kids... Let one have the extra bedroom for a few days and the other a few days. The extra bathroom can be the kid's bathroom.

Have a great trip :beach:

You know what, Rob? My motto in life has always been, "Ask! What's the worst thing that could happen? They say, 'no'?"

Well, I didn't ask, because I thought that was completely against the rules. So, I will definitely call and pose the question. Thanks for prompt! :goodvibes

If they do say no, we'll have a great trip with plenty of room. I am SO excited. As I've mentioned to you before, this will be our first trip to VB!!! :yay:

We are planning on eating at the Plaza on Wed. 4/8--didn't get an ADR because I didn't think it was hard to get in there. Guess I"ll call back and get an early sandwich time.

If you plan on eating there at an off time, you may be fine. However, any time we've tried to eat at regular lunch (11 - 1) or dinner (5 - 7) hours, we haven't had much success without reservations.

Given that we are going over holiday, I'm going to try and make a reservation. :thumbsup2 Hope you guys have a great time!

When I originally called they only had one night of our stay available with a 1 BR at VB, so I booked at Deluxe Ocean View Inn for late July for 3 nights so I wait listed. That was 3 weeks ago. We got a call this afternoon from DVC - my waitlist came through! It's great too, because I was watching another thread regarding availability and several DISers reported unavailablility for the 1 BR for all days that week. I'm very happy. We'll become off a 7 day Disney Cruise and will really need the room (or should I say space?) from each other for a few days.

Good luck on your changed plans. I've pretty much have had good luck changing things about with DVC, you just need to be patient.

Enjoy the two bedroom! It will be nice not having someone sleeping in the living room. Three tv's (believe it or not, thats an issue with my boys!). We had 5 in a two bedroom at BWV....that was alittle snug....I like having the kitchen area and living room area not inhabited by a late sleeping kid (they don't get up till 'noon sometimes!).
