We just returned yesterday from Pop Century....overall for the money we would definitely stay there again.

We checked in Wednesday - early evening. The check in took about 10 minutes total and was very painless. We had a room in the 60's building....second floor...the room was fine - like a nice Holiday Inn style room. The parking is horrible and sometimes it felt like we needed a golf cart to get around the resort. The only thing that bothered me about the room was the fact that it wasn't *clean*....what I mean is - the people staying before us must have celebrated a birthday, because there was birthday confetti all over the place....makes me wonder what else was down there....but the last night we were there I got sick all over the place so we left it in much worse shape than we found it.

We used the Hippy Dippy pool - loved it, although no drinks alllowed in or by the pool. We ate breakfast everyday in the food court and it was always crowded and hard to find a table. I thought the breakfast food was quite good although some of it seemed overpriced.....pancakes for $7??!!

We used the bus service one day but drove the rest of the time. The bus driver got lost on the way back to the resort and it took us forever to get back.

Overall for $49 a night it was definitely worth it.

Thanks for more info on Pop. I'm sorry you got sick! Under 20 days now for me!!:hyper:

Thanks for posting. I've been trying to catch everyone's opinion of PC. We are staying there for 9 nights in May (switched from the A/S Movies) and am trying to prepare myself. All is new and I'm sure there are bugs and issues to be worked out. So far I'm preparing for problems with parking and the AC. Housekeeping seems to be an issue also. But I must say, I just returned last week from a 7 night stay at the Wilderness Lodge and on the first 3 days our rooms were cleaned first thing, then it went downhill after that and we were lucky to get a quick once over by 4:00 PM everyday. Made it tough to take a nap or shower mid-day. So housekeeping has it's issues no matter where you stay.

Apparantley so, perhaps it's the nature of the beast.

But I will say our mouskeeper at Pop was among the best we've ever had. She smiled and went out of her way to wish us good morning every day. We just tipped her $3 per day so it couldn't have been that. Further, I felt the CM's in general at Pop seemed happier to be there than at most Resorts.

Which room did you get sick in ? so I can request NOT to be in that room for my upcoming stay there!;) Just kidding, sorry you were sick. Glad to hear you liked the resort.:D
