The Golf Cart Thread

Well I brought the backhoe home from work and started cutting golf cart trails down by the creek. Plus I made a hill to fly over.:cool1: Lots of fun.

I'm working on a customers Club Car with a 57 Chevy body, its nice I will post some pics its a actual body steel cut down to fit. This is by far about the nicest work I ever seen. Putting a big block 23hp in it, running a 9hp right now, I will post some pics of the build if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Pics pics pics bring them on.

DH had a duster in the late 80s. It was gold-colored if memory serves. God he loved that car. But he also loved his truck and motorcycle that he got later. You know, I can't think of any of his vehicles he hasn't loved. His first beater had one door that was tied shut and the other wouldn't open...he used to deliver pizzas by climbing out the window (I'm crying from laughter over the memories.)
I think she is talking feather duster....... not Plymouth Duster

Haha! You're sharp! I would never knock a plymouth Duster, now! We had one in the 70's and it was very cool! But you're right....I was thinking more cleaning apparatus than mode of transportation! ;)

If it was me, I would be talking about a PLYMOUTH DUSTER!:thumbsup2

We use our cart in the neighborhood. It's great to get back and forth to the pool and tennis courts. We also take it to the convenience store/gas station that is down the road. However, we have huge hills and traffic on the main roads...so no way we could take it around town.

We live on an island with a speed limit of 25 so it would be no problem to run it around here. Just not sure we want to do it.

I wouldn't want to go up huge hills either. Imagine you'd get run over.

Ive seen the fiberglass bodies..but I cant believe someone would destroy a 57 chevy to cut it down to fit a cart......I bet that sucker comes out razor sharp though!!

I love that cart too but it might be hard to find one like that. Its an actual body split and welded back together to fit the cart. I cant imagine what he can get for it, he said he was offered lots of cash but its priceless to him.

Hmmmm, I have a whole shop full of 69 Camaro parts.... and a welder.... hmmmm

That is an absolute beautiful cart conversion! I would, however, be afraid of weight issues with a metal body. Back in the '50's they actually used real steal when they made car bodies.

Its really not that heavy, they took out a lot of metal to shrink it plus I put heavy duty leaf springs on it.

That is, without a doubt, the toughest cart IVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!! Just knowing the work that went into chopping the original body down to cart size and it being flawless (at least in the pictures)....I mean..I cant even see a welding seam......thats some true talent there!!!!
