My Disney Experience. Good lord took almost 15 minutes for me to get through the bugs to get my FP set. Really need to do something with it, if I was Disney I would be embarrased!

It happens ... to most web sites ... regularly.

Actually, most updates can wait a day or three. Updating the OS on your phone does not have to be instant for you to continue to use your phone. Ditto with your computer and other gadgets.

When you have a trip booked and have a specific window within which to work and are trying to co-ordinate a number of pre booked items on your itinerary in the face of high demand, you do not have the same flexibility to just wait a week as you do with most other software updates. Sorry, I hear you about other glitches, but these are worlds apart from MDE in my view.
 

After the first 2 hours following the release over 50000 FP+ had been given for 7DMT - what solution do you have that would enable a website to handle that volume
 
And there is also the Disney Free Dining offer going on as well. I think things have slowed down since this morning but today was a very busy day.

The solution would be to anticipate that this was going to be a problem and filter the availability into the system on a day by day basis. There is no reason why they could not have started adding the option to MDE over the last few weeks. I understand that they wanted to announce the official opening, but they must have had May 28th pegged for a while now. They didn't decide over coffee this morning.

But, yes, the MDE system is awful!!!!

Exactly. And not only FP+ was messed up. At various times during the day my AP and my family's season passes all disappeared. Not all at the same time, mind you. Just randomly. And then they reappeared, but I still couldn't get past the error message to book FP+. So of course I was unable to book any FP+ today. That is a total failure on Disney's part. Don't claim to offer a service that you know you can't actually deliver to me in any way, shape, or form.
 
Yes, it was a terrible day for disney. I understand it being busy, so you keep trying, but I must of got no fast passes to change messages about 50 times. I tried from 7:45 until recently and I finally got in and then there was nothing available. It just is not right.

Mostly I don't see my reservations. Because I can't make them. But I'm like a lab rat clicking the refresh button hoping for a little positive reinforcement (ie, being able to access my account). Magical!

Release 1 week at a time?

Develop an IT system worthy of the multibillion dollar corporation they are?

There's NO excuse for releasing free dining the same day as 7DMT. None. That just added to the demand on the system for no good reason. That could have been done yesterday. Or tomorrow. Or next week.

Disney's incompetence has negatively impacted our vacation. I'm sick of their excuses.

Wow - can you explain more? Or how Disney could have satisfied everyone involved with both promotions?

And yeah, getting my flame suit on for the inevitable "Drinking the Disney Kool-Aid" stuff. I guess since I'm not in the IT business but am married to one and know the situations that come up that I am more willing to accept the "glitches". At my work, we just installed a new phone system. It just doesn't work the way it's supposed to work. We call it WIP for "work in progress". It's an IT issue and it's not solved. Nor will it be any time soon. The thing is - this stuff happens everyday in every workplace around the globe. Disney is not perfect nor will ever be.
