I got a "Scene It" sports game.

I'm the only one in my house who cares about sports, and I never go to or have parties where we would use this.

Fortunately I am going to one of those "Chinese Auctions" - I think they call it? Where you can switch gifts with all participants, but a gift can not be exchanged more than twice?

Anyway, for the life of me, I can't figure out why the person who gave me this gift would give it to me. He absolutely would know I would never possibly use it.... so maybe he got it in one of those auctions? :rotfl: If he bought it, I would be surprised, as I know he barely cracks hi wallet open for things that people need, let alone things that they definitely do not need, or will not use.

That definitely is a re-gift if I've ever seen one.

Lets see what I got, a large blue glass urn with the word chocolate on it; a 10 pack of bookmarks (for my 6 yr old) and an assortment of calendars, all for me.

I have a family member taht holiday shops at Savers...

The bath salts my DH put in my stocking. I put them in the cabinet next to the full bottle he gave me last year. I love him, though!

a very large day planner. thing weighs a ton. gonna take it back.

The huge book full of cat stories that DH got me. I wanted the newer Dewey book so DH assumed that I'd enjoy this book. He meant well. :)

A rectangle plastic container to cook spaghetti in the microwave????

Bon Jovi Greatest Hits CD, which I got from my husband, and he gave me last year, too.

the one that really got me laughing was my 9 year old recieved "the Friends" trivia game from my god mother....lol..... I looked up some of the trivia questions ... "Which of the Friends mother killed herself?" what a great kids game:rotfl::rotfl:

a few years agomy elderly aunts got my daughters( than 6 and 9) play boy bunny pockebooks.... I guess they thought it was cute little bunnys.....
and last year they recieved very sheer alsmost see thru harem outfits so they can dress up with their friends my 13 year old was morified

Two pairs of North Face gloves from DF to match the new coat he gave me.... Only have one pair of hands :confused3

He couldn't decide which pair I'd like better so he bought both :flower3:

I loved everything I received this year. Great family

This year I received a copy of Mr. and Mrs. Smith on DVD and I have had a copy since 2005.

Ahhhh I'd love to take that off your hands, but I have nothing to offer in return.

This was just released on November 10th! How did you get it last year?? LOL. Does he KNOW Jon???????????? ;)

Let's see...

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game for Xbox. I don't own an Xbox and do not watch the show. Not entirely sure what to do with this one.

Set of NHL shot glasses. I do not drink alcohol and I do not watch hockey. These will definitely get re-gifted to my brother who they are actually perfectly suited for!:rotfl:

Gift card for Gymboree. This one has me :confused3. I received it from a coworker I am fairly close with. I am not married, have never mentioned having children and am a university student... I'm not sure why she thought this was the ideal store for me. I do plan on hitting some of their post-Christmas sales and then donating the baby clothes to a pregnancy care center nearby for mothers in difficult situations, so this one will be put to good use!:thumbsup2

Wow! You win.

I got one of those "no touch" soap dispensers......why????

Almost all of you have listed stuff that I would like. I think I'm just happy with anything... LOL. The Gymboree card made me laugh, though. My best guess is that she got her gift cards mixed up!

Last year some friends gave us a board game that requires a DVD player. We don't HAVE a DVD player in the living room. Our DVD player broke and we decided to just leave it. Eventually we will replace our TV and get a Blu-ray. EVENTUALLY. DS has a DVD player in his room, and we have Netflix streaming in the living room. Board games notwithstanding, this works for us.

So I took the game back (they included a gift receipt). $14.99. We spent nearly $100 on them. I am still peeved about it.

So you can get soap without touching the dispenser, of course!:lmao:

My brother always gives me some kitchen gadget from the As Seen On TV store. It's become sort of a running joke with us. This year, it was a straining basket that you boil food in and then pull it out of the pot to strain it. It seems handy enough, but I barely boil anything (except the occasional pasta). He also gave me a little platform that you put under your coffee maker to slide it forward on the counter. My kitchen isn't very big and I always keep the coffee maker in the same spot on the counter. Maybe I can find something else I need to slide back and forth?

Were you mad at yourself for spending more than they did, or mad at them for spending less? I wonder if they were mad at you too?

Did you exchange gifts this year, and,if so, did you do a better job of matching expectations?

My in-laws donated $25 to Uganda in each of our names.. we're of broke and could've used the cash instead!

Though, I've given some useless gifts myself in the past. My dad has "everything", so I bought him land on the moon (not so sure it was that legit.. I guess I really just paid for the pretty paper certificate and frame.. $50), and named a star after him (again, $20 for the certificate and frame).

We were given a giant gold holographic bow to hang on our house. At least, I think that's the intent...
