Its official. Kristina Wagner (Felicia) will be back, sometime in late April to clean up the mess left by her absence and Robins death.
Michael Easton (John McBain, OLTL; ex-Caleb, PC) had the same reservations as most fans did about bringing some characters onto GH from another soap. Hes all for supporting soaps and playing out an exciting story promised him by executive producer Frank Valentini. But he didnt want to do it at the expense of everything built by GH. My biggest concern was that I didn't want to go to GH just to bait some of the OLTL audience. I didn't feel that was very valid or fair. It would just piss off the GH audience and disappoint the OLTL fans. There needs to be a really good reason why McBain is in Port Charles something organic, not forced and I think they came up with a good one.
Easton gave some spoiler insight about his place in Port Charles, including a checkered history with mob boss Sonny, a déjà-vu run-in with former Port Charles co-star Kelly Monaco (Sam; ex-Livvie, PC), and perhaps more history with more GH characters. Johns beef with Sonny will involve having lost a loved one because of the mobsters actions, then an inability to do anything legal about it within the jurisdiction of FBI law and order. It was one of those situations where the only way he could catch Sonny was to corrupt evidence or manufacture some and he couldn't find it in his heart to do that. So he had to bury it and let it go. So Sonny remained the one that got away, the big white whale. This time around, McBain is determined to see justice done one way or the other. Going after Sonny wont be easy for John. Hell have to go through Dante, who seems to be running the show. Hell also have to keep a closer eye on Starr who may be falling for Sonnys son Michael.
Leaving OLTL proved heartbreaking for an actor not easily given to fleeting Hallmark sentiment. He described the process, leading up to a particularly odd end-of-show party. I went to the wrap party and it seemed like everyone was medicated. It was kind of like that movie Westworld where everyone is walking around in a daze. And I really feel bad for the fans who were left with that false hope that something was going to happen. That's why I feel so strongly about this move to GH. We have to do everything possible to keep these soaps going. TV Guide, March 5, 2012 interview with Michael Logan
Roger Howarth (Todd Manning, OLTL) just signed a GH contract. Interesting, since its been rumored that he balked at returning to OLTL, where he originated, full-time.
Maurice Benard (Sonny; ex-Nico, AMC), Kassie DePaiva (Blair, OLTL) recently seen with Anders Hove (ex-Faison) in pictures at Monster Mania and Kristen Alderson (Starr, OLTL) galvanized GH fans with their fighting words of encouragement and never-say-die attitude in the March 2nd ETOnline.com, March 2nd interview with Paige Feigenbaum. While DePaiva emotionally spoke of hope, Benard laid it on the line by saying, I dare anybody to cancel this show. Alderson sounded like she was having the time of her life, reinvigorating her OLTL character in the post-accident that left Starr a widow and childless in one fell swoop. "I really am not finished playing Starr. It feels more exciting to me than if I got a role on a primetime show." With a handful of core OLTL characters crossing over, what about AMC? Benard thought itd be a kick to bring Susan Lucci (ex-Erica, AMC) on. Hes enjoying the cross-overs that have been done so far. It breathes life and the energy's great, he enthused.
Gossip for the week of 12-Mar-2012

Katie Courics new talk show will take over GHs timeslot across the country, but GH itself may move up as her lead-inat least if she and her executive producer Jeff Zucker allegedly have any say. TV Guides Michael Logan is reporting that these two do not want The Revolution, OLTLs replacement show, to be that lead-in, since its tanking in the ratings. They also, according to TV Guide, do not want GH soap fans on the warpath against them like AMC and OLTL soap fans have been for The Chew and The Revolution. What helps this argument is GHs ratings spiked the other week on the strength of Robin Scorpios explosive death, the return of some GH faves, and the cross-overs of some popular OLTL stars.
Make way for Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) next. Antonio Sabato Jr. (ex-Jagger) may want in on this reunion train, too.
Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax) allegedly took bitterness to the next *****y level by taking a sideswipe at TPTBs decision to hire the OLTL regime which then resulted in the cross-overs of several OLTL characters. Hed tweeted several weeks ago and maybe tried to backtrack in subsequent tweets, like it was joke something along the lines of, One Life To Overkill, earning him more than a few hater fans. Good luck coming back, dude.
The Talks Sheryl Underwood may have gotten a spoiler out of Rick Springfield (Noah) during his March 20th appearance. She was talking to him about his return and reminding him Noah also has another son, Matt, (the rocker-actor didnt know!) when he spoiler-confirmedafter she suggested Noah and Anna would make a good couple. Heres a video of his talk show appearance from the Huffington Post.
OLTLs Starr and GHs Michael make a definite match. Theyre both single-minded, dogged, almost obsessively, annoyingly so (read: intensely self-centered to the point of bullying, see Lulu). Starr may try to use Michael to exact revenge for the senseless deaths of her boyfriend Cole and daughter Hope, but wind up in love. This could either turn out to be a fiery supercouple for the youth demographic, or a big, fat, stinking cluster.
