We were disappointed to find out the restaurant isn't turning and won't be for a couple weeks. If I had known ahead of time, we would have cancelled. The meal also took forever. (1 hour 45 minutes) it was quick then there was a massive delay between the entree and dessert.

I agree. We were there a month ago, and it wasn't turning. Thankfully, we didn't end up overlooking the crowd of people waiting for their table to become available. I was very disappointed. It also seemed to take a while.

With that said, we really liked the food, and the character interaction was good. It would have been a home run if the place would have been rotating that day!

I wonder if it's still down from our early April trip??? Or just down again?

We were told that Chip and Dale dropped acorns in the gears that spins the floor. Totally acceptable explanation for my kids. After about 2 minutes it didn't matter that it didn't spin because servers/characters are so great at distracting guests with their great service. The fact that the room was not spinning did not effect our experience.

It was not spinning when we were there last November and were also told it was because Chip and Dale dropped acorns in the gears. We had our grandchildren with us and they were very disappointed it was not turning. It must happen alot.

A friend of mine reported that it was not spinning on Easter weekend. We don't have reservations until August, but I don't want to go if it's not spinning.

Chip claims responsibility. Dale denies any involvement. We would not have gone. We already saw Mickey and pluto. I wish we knew about it ahead of time. The server said it would bee a couple weeks. They needed to order some big part. We were stuck in the noisy rainforest so couldn't talk. Nicer view than the people at the entrance.

It's really nice when it rotates, but that isn't the reason we go. My kids would find the Chip and Dale explanation funny. We won't be disappointed if it's not rotating in July when we go there on our first night.

I am sorry to hear this and very much hope it will be back at full operation by June 2. We're celebrating my son's 6th birthday, and his pick for his celebratory meal (complete with birthday cake!) was "the spinning restaurant." We'll have a good time either way, but he will definitely be disappointed.

I'm going to keep up with this. My daughter (15) requested this restaurant solely b/c she loves that it spins. If it's not spinning in early June, we will eat at some yummy World Showcase place instead. :)

Oh man, I wish I was there now! I get motion sickness and won't eat there because I'm afraid I'll feel sick.

Sorry to all of you who thought they would be spinning... I hear it's cool, but luckily most of you still enjoyed the restaurant!

Yep, we were there on 4/21, and it wasnt spinning--- we were told that it had not been working for weeks

It doesn't 'spin'!! It revolves 'very' slowly. Don't see how you could get motion sickness from that!
Is just nice to have different scenery to look at instead of 'maybe' just being stuck in the front entrance! ;)

Don't let the fear of motion sickness keep you from eating there-the motion is not noticeable at all!

If I recall correctly, it takes one hour to make one full revolution. We could not feel any movement-it was more like we'd look up from our food or the characters and realize the scenery was different-if it wasn't for that, I'd have never known it moved!

Hope it starts spinning by the time we have dinner there in June...one of the reasons we booked Garden Grill was because of the atmosphere and the ability to see into the Living with the Land attraction.

Bit of a bummer to not have the rotation, it's part of the fun of eating there. But, it's probably the least important aspect of the meal for us, so it wouldn't stop me from going. The character interaction is tops and the food is really good. The rotation and seeing the full circle in the hour you're eating is a cool extra. Hopefully it's not down for too long.

Remember if you have a reservation, and you just leave without being seated, you're going to be charged the no-show fee.

If you intend to leave and not honor your reservation because the restaurant is not spinning, make sure you explain to the podium host your reason for leaving and ask for a waiver of the no-show fee.

Gosh, the spinning mechanism thing is temperamental, isn't it? Seems like it has spent more time broken than functioning the last 4-5 years.
