The Garden Grill @ EPCOT or Chef Mickey

Another vote for Chef Mickey's....I just don't like GG. I feel like I'm on display for everyone in the Land Pavilion to see. But we have a great time at CM every time!:thumbsup2

This January had dinner at 5:00 at Garden Grill and it was awful. Crowded, not much character interaction, food was OK. We also had dinner at Chef Mickey's that week and that was awful. Characters were jogging past our table practically, the food was not great, but that was less important to us. Our table was not in a great location which was part of the problem.

Awesome atmosphere and character interaction at CM's. Also the buffet has a much wider assortment of food. Besides there is a sundae bar, what could be better than Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and all the ice cream and trimming you can eat. :worship:

We have been to both and I would pick Garden Grill hands down. The characters come around often and interact, and the food is good. We went to CM last year and the food was not that good and the characters were just ok.

Haven't been to Chef Mickey's, so can't compare the two - but have to say we ate at Garden Grill last week and it was one of our favorite meals. Food was great and awesome character interaction - most of them made their way twice to our table.
I was unsure if we'd like it there - and actually, had been trying to replace that ressie with one for CM but had no luck. Glad we kept the ressie. It was a nice change of pace from the buffets, lots of food, and just felt relaxed in there. The kids loved making their cupcakes for dessert. It's a must do for our next trip!

I say do both!

Our kids like both for different reasons. My DH and I like Garden Grill better, because we didn't have to take turns walking our kids through a buffet line, not having to pay attention to where the characters are at in the room so we don't miss one by not being at our table, and we loved the food. The characters spent so much time at our table. Our boys loved Chip and Dale and thought that the restaurant rotating in a circle was really cool. Chef Mickey's was nice, but quite loud and packed full of people. It felt like all of the tables were on top of each other. Our kids just wanted to see the characters. I don't think that they really care about where they see them at, just as long as they do. With all that being said, Chef Mickey's was fun and who doesn't want to say they had dinner at Mickey's restaurant. On our next trip, we will do both restaurants, because I don't think I could choose between the two.

My grandchildren ALWAYS want to go to Garden Grill for dinner...This next trip....we are going to CM for breakfast (our only "outside our rooms" breakfast) for the week and Garden Grill for dinner.....:thumbsup2

Can you tell me more about making your own cupcake? Sound like something my DS (6) would love.

Which will you be closer to that evening? In that they're both good for food & characters (GG a little better on the characters, CM a little better on the food variety) I wouldn't go out of my way for either one if the other is available.

Chef Mickey's gets my vote. I haven't seen the kids cupcakes everytime that we've gone, but when it is there - the kids pick up a cupcake, swirl it in icing, and dip them in sprinkles. They are very good. Out of all the many times we've been, I only remember my kids getting to do this once or twice.

If you want to be sure the kids meet Mickey and get a nice picture taken with Mickey ( when they are not all tired from waiting in long lines), then do Chef Mickey's.

If you want to get off your feet and relax for a while, do Garden grill. You'll still meet the characters and can take your own picture. Plus you don't have to leave the park.

The food at either one is okay.
