The Four Day, teen attitude, bf missing Adventure. FINAL INSTALLMENT PG. 4

Can anyone explain why some of my pictures that I reduce in size actually DO reduce and others don't?? Sorry some of my pictures are so huge on the report!!

Following a good nights sleep, the phone rang and woke us once again. Katie had had enough of Mickey and Stitch which meant I had to lean over her to get the phone.

Ok kids, time to get up! There are showers to be taken, boyfriends to call, hair to straighten and breakfast to eat! Today we have reservations for a fine hotel room; we just need to survive the fickle elevator.

Bruce and I were ready and hungry. We told the kids to finish getting ready and meet us at the food court.

We made our way to breakfast. There was a wonderful, funny and cheerful CM that worked there that got our breakfast for us. His name was Joshua. HI JOSHUA! He served us up a great meal; Bruce had a breakfast sandwich while I had the adult breakfast platter. Yummy!!

The kids finally caught up with us….hair all just right and everyone looking pretty. Have something to eat so we can get this show on the road!

While the kids ate, we went to the concierge to see if there was any way we could get ressies for lunch at MGM. After much tick, tick, tickling of the keyboard we got into PrimeTime Café for 12:20! NICE!! One of the places I really wanted to eat. I just thought it would be a lot of fun!!

We reach your destination by about 9:30, that’s right, no rope drop again today. We moved right towards ToT with Katie’s knees shaking all the way. A deal is a deal!! Dad suffered through the land of the singing dolls, YOU have to go on sinister elevator!!

100_8630.jpg

Zack and I got into line while Katie and Bruce went to get FP for RnR. The standby line said 40 minutes. We got into line and it moved along quite quickly. We decided to step aside and wait for Katie and Bruce. They finally caught up to us and we continued on our way. They had the misters on and it made it nice and creepy.

100_8635.jpg

Of course it was causing havoc with the hair. Zack kept himself busy by playing with is hair while Katie occupied herself with Prince Charming on the phone.

Of course it was starting to get warm and there were once again complaints about that. I brought along my battery powered fan/mister with me today. After the almost passing out predicament yesterday, I wanted to do my best to avoid that today. I don’t have the time to be sprawled out on the pavement today!

Just as we were ready to board our elevator, there was a man in line with us who was joking with the kids about never being on this ride. It sure didn’t help with their nerves!

We had great seats this ride; we were right in the front. I was on the isle seat and had my fan/mister slung over my shoulder.

The drops began and I must say it was the best ride I have had on this!! Just when you thought you were done they lifted you and dropped you again!! FABULOUS!!
Unlike us, my fan/mister did NOT survive this ride! Well, it did, sort of.
When we were done with the drops, the man behind me mean over and told me that he thought my bottle was on the floor. I reached down and felt the end of my strap and sure enough, all that was there was the nozzle. I groped around looking for the rest of it. I found the bottle on the floor by my feet……my WET feet!
The poor guy behind me must have gotten wet because he relayed his concern to me that he was HOPING it was just my bottle and not someone’s Zubb!!

We exited the ride and Katie bought the picture. I was going to take a redneck picture of hers but never got the chance to. We ended up in yet another…..”oh look!! A gift shop!!”
As we were browsed the shop, there was young kid ringing all the bells they have there. Do you know what happens when people ring these bells? Not sure if this is a well-known thing or not but a bellman showed up!! It was the funniest thing!! The kid didn’t know what to do….he just walked away. Well we were watching and laughing and the bellman moved over to Zack and asked him is he could help him with something. Of course we got a picture of this.

100_8670.jpg

We had some time before RnR so we got drinks and a frozen treat. We sat and devoured our yummy snacks while watching a local feathered creature meander around us. We then headed over to RnR and cruised through the line while all the……say it with me DISers, “all the non-fastpass people stood in line!”
Great ride as usual!!! I do have the picture from this ride.

Lunch time was moving up on us quickly but still has some time; we went to see the Muppets. Zack was all excited about seeing this. One of the things he couldn’t WAIT to see! We got our fashionable glasses and moved into the pre-show area. Have I mentioned how much I HATE pre-shows?? I really seriously do!!

100_8654.jpg

As we were leaving this show, Zack had a grumpy look on his face. I don’t think it was as exciting as he remembers. He was 8 after all when he saw it last, which was 5 years ago.

Don't go away people, I will be back with the rest of this day!!

I am enjoying your report SO much!! Your son sounds like all my 4 combined at that age! (I swear they take more time in the bathroom than my daughter and me combined)

So this is normal what my step-son does? I'm glad we are not the only ones dealing with this!

When I left you, we were just leaving Muppets and making our way over to Moms for lunch….AKA Prime Time Café.
We checked in and only waited maybe 5-10 minutes. The kids found a sofa to sit on and watch some good old black and white tv, while Bruce went to check out the little boys room.

We were seated and got some great seats, right by the kitchen!! I could look around the corner to see the door to the kitchen which was nice that I could yell in and ask when the heck my food was! Joking of course, I didn’t need to; they were very quick at getting food out to us.
Cousin Joey was our server; it was great to see him again. The last time we saw him was two reunions ago and he had just been released from the rehab so he is looking so much better now! OHHHHH I’m JUST kidding people!!! We did have fun playing along with him!!

When Cousin Joey asked if we had ever been there before and we told him no, he proceeded to fill us in on “Moms Rules.” He then told the kids to keep them out of trouble they can set the table and then gave them the basket with napkins and utensils!!
Absolutely PRICELESS faces!!! Katie took charge and made Zack help her. OHHH caution, attitude ahead!! Oh come on Zack, it’s all in fun and GET YOUR ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE!!

The kids started out with smoothies. Apparently they didn’t know they had yogurt in them….$9.98 too late. OH well.

100_8657.jpg

100_8658.jpg

We all got the Fried Chicken; HOWEVER, I am the only one that didn’t ask for “no veggies!” Kind of hard for them to get in trouble for not eating their veggies when they had none to begin with!! Big babies!! I was actually excited to try “southern greens.” I’m a Yankee you know! They were actually quite good although I didn’t finish them as Cousin Joey reminded me.
When asked if we were interested in dessert, Joey told me I could not seeing as I didn’t finish my veggies.
WAIT ONE GOSH DARN MINUTE!!

Me: hold on just a minute here. I’m the only one that got veggies even though I had never
had them. I got them and tried them and even ate at least half of them. That has to be worth something right?
Cousin Joey: That is true. What would you like for dessert?
Me: OH, I’m all set, I’m actually kind of full!!
Cousin Joey: WHAT?? After all of that??

Joey bought over the viewfinder and we all took a looky-loo.

100_8660.jpg

Katie and I decided to share the S’Mores. YUMMMMMY. I would show you a picture but we ate it too fast.

Lunch was over, we said goodbye to Cousin Joey and promised to see him at the next family function.

From there we waddled our way to Beauty and the Beast. This was a must for me. I love this show and shed some more tears. Zack sat with a pout on his face and I don’t believe he enjoyed it. There was a couple with a young little girl in front of us. I loved to watch her excitement as she watched the show. It was another priceless moment, even though she wasn’t mine, she brought tears to my eyes. Oh such innocence!

At some point we must have gotten another FP for ToT because my notes tell me we went there to ride with them after Beauty.

We agreed at this point to take a break back at the hotel. The kids were tired, hot, wanted to call Prince Charming and Zack had some serious hair fixing to do. So he said anyway.
The kids stopped at a shop on the way out for a slushy and we made our way to the bus stop.

During our break, Bruce and I filled our mugs and hit the pool while Zack and Katie hung out in the room, talked on the cell phone with The Prince and did some hair styling.

Dark clouds were rolling in while were we heading back to MgM. We arrived back about 6:15.

When we entered the park, the kids went to ride RnR again while we went and glanced at One Mans Dream. It had started to thunder and spritz out but not too badly. The kids called us just as were exiting the OMD and we told them to meet us by the Hat.

100_8694.jpg

From here, we went into The Great Movie Ride. Can you believe I had never seen this??
A funny thing happened while standing in line for this. There was a family in front of us and then an older couple in front of them. At one point the line moved while the older man did not. His wife was even gone around the corner. He stood there with his head down. Hello……mister……the line moved. We all stood there staring at him. Katie even spoke up, LOUDLY….Excuse me sir……can you move along??
Still nothing, we think he fell asleep.
Then his wife came back for him.
“JIM!!!”
“OHH AHHH Yeah..”
The guy turned around and said, “You should have tapped me on the shoulder”
As far off in Lala Land he was, if something had tapped him on the shoulder it probably would have dropped him with a heart attack!!

The rest of the evening will be coming soon! I wanted to post what I had until I can finish the day!!

OOOooohhhh Weeee! Your Trippie is a blast to read!!! I only have one teenager (DS17) and it's fun to see him act like a kid again at WDW now that he's wayyy too cool and is SO much smarter than I apparently am!!! But YOU have double trouble!!! EEEk, I am so glad my DS isnt quite as in to his hair as yours is. Mine will just plop on a ball cap if his straightened longish hippy hair get's frizzy from the humidity or wet from rain or a ride. But he is as vain as I am! I enjoyed your report on 50's Prime Time!!! I am LUSTING for the S'mores! ...I need a moment...

Thanks for this great piece of Trip Report Masterpiece!!! Love it! Cant wait for more! We leave in 27 more days so until we do, we have to live through others!

See YA!!!!
UtahMama :teeth:

I'm really enjoying your trip report. It's so funny especially to us MOT's (Mom's of teens). I can't help but laugh everytime Katie has to call "The Prince". Too funny! :)

Loving your TR.

My kiddos are younger DS12 and DD7. But I can see the teenage thing coming with DS ...like a fast moving train. Kinda scary :scared1:

Anyway...Love your pictures too. What type of camera are you shooting with? My fav is the carousel...Love  it!!

Can't wait to read more...

Thanks so much for all the comments. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Katie was actually on the phone more then I'm even mentioning. Bruce just kept warning her, you better not be using up all my minutes!! Are you SURE he's "in"???

As far as my camera. All I'm using is a Kodak Easy Share 3.1.
I have been taking pictures for a LONG time and all I can say is Thank God for digital! I can take as many pictures and delete as I see necessary. I think I took about 350 pictures in the four days we were there!!

I will try and get the rest of Mgm day up by tonight!!
DON'T GO ANYWHERE!! :thumbsup2

I do believe I left you at us coming out of The Great Movie Ride.

100_8697.jpg

As we were exiting our vehicle, my cell phone was ringing. I looked at the number and saw that it was my neighbor from back home. I KNEW this was not a good phone call. When we left home, one of our other neighbors was gravely ill. She had been fighting a long battle with Cancer. I told my friend to PLEASE call me if something happened while we were away.
Well this was the call. She was a wonderful woman who I will be miss dearly!

Following a very warm and loving hug  from Bruce and a few tears shed for Besty, we had an evening to finish up.

We made our way toward Fantasmic. Ok, people, its 8:45 and you all know what THAT means!! Yes, the 9:00 show is full!! There was another one scheduled for 10:30. Katie and Zack wanted to ride Star Tours so we sent them off with Bruce’s phone. I sat on a wall amongst the strollers to rest my knee (which by the way, if you read my April report, my knee is doing MUCH better this trip) while Bruce went to find drinks and food.

I sat for some time and while doing so, the lightening was moving closer can closer. Did I mention that we had seen it in the distance? Sorry, I’m bad. It was also starting to spit a little. Now, while I am sitting here, I have a phone, the kids have a phone and Bruce did not, I was afraid it was going to start to downpour and I wouldn’t know where to go so Bruce would find me!! Thankfully it didn’t so that took care of that issue. :woohoo:

Ok, so now it’s lightening and sort-of- kinda-but-not-really raining, the 9:00 show has been cancelled! Now throngs of people are streaming out of the amphitheater, I’m talking a swarm!! Bruce finally finds me still sitting on the wall and he had soda and popcorn!! Marvelous, I was starving; we were not really hungry at dinner time so we hadn’t eaten since lunch.

Rumor had it that the 10:30 show was also going to be cancelled. GREAT!! :cool1: Fine by me, if we stayed it would have been about 1am before we got back to our home away from home and I was not up to a late night!

We called the kids and told them to meet us at the gate when they were finished with their ride. After a couple of calls from Katie telling us they were LOST, :sad2: :sad2: they finally found us and we strolled to the bus stop.

We didn’t have to wait too long for a bus and we had a great and very humorous driver named Bill. :drive: We got seats tonight, YAY and for those who were standing he told them to move alllllll the way to the back, we can fit another 40 or 50 people on!! Hehehehe :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
When we got back to the hotel he announced, “Make sure you take all small children by the hand. If any are left on the bus they will be brought to Small World, taught to sing and become CMs!!” :joker: :joker:

The Pool was closed due to the weather so no swimming tonight. Off to our room we went.

As we took the corner to our room, there was a cute, little fury bunny enjoying a late night snack of grass right by our room. We moved slowly and I talked to him and took some pictures of him. Naturally the kids thought I had lost my mind!

100_8717.jpg

100_8715.jpg

The kids were tired and we were hungry so we left them and went with our mugs to the food court. Bruce and I sat and enjoyed pizza and for something sweet I got a Mickey rice crispy head and Bruce had his favorite, Choc. pudding. To this day, Bruce keeps saying he wants some Disney Choc pudding!!

Coming up next, a finicky duck, another bad phone call and a night out alone with my dear hubby! popcorn::

Wake up call came at 6:30 this morning. My PLAN was to be on the bus by 8:30, so plan accordingly people!!

Bruce got up and started to shave so I jumped into the shower while he was doing that.
I got out, he got in but of course we could have conserved water, have you even heard that saying? “Conserve water, shower with a friend.” Oh well, maybe if the kids weren’t there. :rolleyes1

Ok, so the kids were having a hard time getting going. We got some attitude when we were sitting there; pretty much ready and the kids were just sitting there with no ambition to move AT ALL. You need to get in the shower!!! “Ok, geezzz what’s your problem?” we hear. This is your day kids, you said Epcot was your favorite park…..lets move!! Chop chop!!

Bruce finally told me him and I were going to have breakfast. We told the kids to be ready for the bus by 8:30. We were getting on the bus at that time with or without them!!

Bruce and I had something to eat, if I remember correctly, that included Disney Chocolate pudding for Bruce!! Breakfast of champions! I think I had Frosted Flakes and a cheese Danish! Yes, we eat well! HA

The kids finally found us in the food court about 8:25. They wanted to get something to eat. Sorry slowpokes don’t have time. Have to catch that bus in 5 minutes, should have planned better!

Off we go out front to the bus stop and there we stood for 20 minutes!!! Aghhh we finally get on the bus and get to Epcot. Needless to say there was some grumbling about wanting to find something for breakfast. OH are you hungry!? Hmmmmm Well, our first priority is to get to The Land to get FP for Soarin.

We get to the gate, and I of course had to go through bag check. What do I see there this morning? One of the security officers standing there with a bottle of Vodka, Hey….it’s been a tough morning, I was hoping to find some OJ while I was there!! Those CMs are a bunch of party poopers!! :p

We hustled over to The Land and with FP in hand, the kids went to the food area there (Season’s) for breakfast. So there we sat while they ate.

We had some time before our Soarin’ ride so we left the Land and went to Journey into Your Imagination. I haven’t seen this in a LONG time and now that Figmment is back, we just had to see it. Apparently, we were the ONLY ones that felt they needed to see it. We were the only ones there!! HAha Oh well, it was cute.

We got off of this ride and went to play with some of the things in there. I took a picture of me morphed with a cat…

cat.jpg

We spent a good amount of time in here. The kids did a picture of themselves and sent it to their mom.

From here, we went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience. This show is ok. I do however like the part in the preshow about Champ. It always brings a tear to my eye. I really love when the old lady comes to the door holding the cat and the cat’s eyes go BOINK   when it sees the picture of the dog!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: SO funny!!

It’s time for our Soarin’ FP so we go back to The Land and fly ( haha pardon the pun) right through the line and quicker then the shake of a lambs tail we were soarin’ over the good old U.S.A and down Main Street of DisneyLand.

This is a great report. We are traveling with DS 17 and DS4 in October. We wont' have to worry about calls to DS17 Princess - her family is coming too.

When I left you last, we were soarin over the beautiful terrain of our beloved county. Thankfully Katie was able to ride it ok, she was concerned that it would bother her being up high and having that flying feeling.

With our feet firmly back on the ground we hiked over to retrieve FPs for TT. It was just after 11:00 and the FP time was for 3:35.

The kids wanted to go into Space Ship Earth and I wanted to go and look for something in Mousegears so I went my way and the other three went for a lesson in the history of technology.

While I was on my own, I, like I said, went window shopping and then got myself a drink and a Mickey bar and had a seat by the fountain. While I was waiting for them to come off, I called my daughter Emily who was staying with my sister this week. She was having a good time visiting with her aunt, uncle and cousin.

100_8733.jpg

Look at the guy to the right, in the white shirt, apparently there was something more interresting to film then the contortionist performing!! :rotfl2:

Bruce and the kids finally emerged from the steroid using golf ball stating that they were famished. We wanted to get over to the American Pavilion to have lunch, so we jumped a boat to Morocco.

100_8737.jpg

As we got off the boat, we saw a couple of Princess flaunting their entire Princess beauty by the lagoon and there was pretty much no line. We went over to have OUR Sleeping Beauty have her picture taken with Walt’s Sleeping Beauty. Katie thought it was so cool, when she walked over to her, she said to Katie, “hello Princess!” OHHHH if she only knew!!

100_8740.jpg

From here we found our way to the American Pavilion. We were lucky enough to see the Fife and Drum group coming out. If it weren’t for my camera acting up I would have some pictures for you.
We had lunch consisting of hamburgers and hotdogs and Katie enjoyed a apple crisp for dessert.
100_8751.jpg

After lunch we made a visit to the restrooms that are in America. As we walked down along the building, we saw Pinocchio and Geppetto coming out from “behind the scenes” so I yelled to them. I first saw Pinocchio and yelled hello to him. He turned in our direction and waved and then we saw Geppetto and we did the same!

Following our trip to the toilet we made our way around the Showcase towards Mexico. Once again we saw the Wooden Boy and his Papa, we stopped to watch them interact with the little tikes that were lined up for them. In between tikes, Geppetto looked over to Zack and pointed at him and did a little dance trying to get him to join in. Can you guess that he didn’t??

100_8752.jpg

We moved along and saw Snow looking pretty as ever so we stopped to sneak a shot of her.

100_8756.jpg

Now for this trip and all the reading I had been doing on the boards, I was anxious to go on Maelstroms. I still can not decide if you all really LOVE this ride or if you’re mocking it. I’m a little slow on the uptake at times so if anyone reading this can bring me up to speed that would be great! I did think it was pretty cool mainly because it was the first time riding it. I liked the drop…as small as it was, but then again, I wasn’t expecting it.

We had fun in the gift shop following this ride as you can see below……….

KATIE, THE NORWAY VIKING

We finally found ourselves in Mexico and well…..all I can say is, what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico. OH who am I kidding!!?? We played with hats!!
We actually played with hats a lot today….here is proof!!

100_8777.jpg

100_8776.jpg

100_8765.jpg

100_8760.jpg

It started to rain and thunder and everyone was running for cover…..big babies!!
We walked along heading back to TT. We had stopped at some point and Katie had gotten some sour gummy worms. We saw some ducks over on the lawn so we walked over to chitchat with them. Katie decided to share a piece of gummy worm with one of them. She broke off a piece and held it out for the duck….the duck came over and she tossed it to her. The duck then leaned over to pick it up and she shook her head and flung the thing about 3 feet in the air while backing up spitting and sputtering looking for anything to get the taste of her mouth. We laughed :rotfl2: and laughed :rotfl2: about this for quite :hourglass a while! I guess ducks DON’T like sour gummy worms!! :rotfl2:

100_8780.jpg

We did find out though that Zack DOES like them!! :woohoo:
100_8781.jpg

We went over and rode TT and loved the ride, this is one of my favorites.

We decided to take a break and were on the bus by 4:30. The weather wasn’t looking too good and we were afraid that the show tonight may be cancelled. I haven’t seen this show in a long time and was really looking forward to it.

We got back to the hotel and anxious to go for a swim but the pool was closed due to the weather.
Bruce and I went and got our mugs and thought we would fill them up and go and sit by the pool even though we couldn’t swim. We had gotten all settled when the lifeguard came over and told us that when the pool was closed, the pool DECK was also closed!! WHAT??? Well this stinks!! The kids are each sprawled out on the beds so we ended up hanging out in the food court! The pool open shortly after and we were able to go out there to sit but not enough time to go for a swim before going back to the park.

More to come soon!!
