Has anyone stayed at the Fountains Resort on International Drive? I know that it is a timeshare but it is offered on the Orlando Magic Card at a great rate. I called and it is available and they stated that a tour is not required.
Most reviews on Trip Advisor etc. seem to be positive, but ripoff.com has some interesting reviews of Bluegreen which owns the resort.

Any information would be apprecicated.

Would not worry about reviews of the timeshare management company if you are just renting a nightly stay and you don't plan to attend a sales pitch.

The Fountains is a beautiful resort - we toured several years ago but it's in a good location and the rooms were very nice. It has kept a good reputation among timesharers. They've recently opened a large, new, fun, interactive pool area, in addition to their indoor/outdoor pool. This is one of the few area resorts we've wanted to try but haven't yet.

We were there in April for a few nights and loved it. There have been some reviews on this board - maybe do a search to ease your mind. I would stay there again.

We stayed there for a week in March. The place was great. No dreaded timeshare pitch. Our room in building 7 was quiet and very comfortable. We payed 79.00 per nite and would have no issues about staying here again. If you go be sure to ask for a newer building at check in.

Another great place to stay. Go for it and enjoy. No place is perfect and I stayed in an older building and was satisfied with it totally. Im a snob of sorts I must say so thats saying something. Have fun

We have also been looking into the Fountains and I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get to the parks from the resort. Is traffic a factor from that location? I have to claim total ignorance - I am completely challenged when it comes to driving around on vacation! :rotfl:

We stayed at the Founatins before and are staying again in 6 weeks. I believe the drive is no more than 5-10 minutes to Disney property. We remember commenting that we often got back to our condo faster than if we stayed on site and took a Disney bus.

I believe the drive is no more than 5-10 minutes to Disney property.

No way it's that short. I think there is another similarly named resort that is closer, but this one is 5 minutes from I-4 and then a few exits to any of the Disney parks.

You never hit I4 to get to a park, the street comes out in front of Epcot. (536?). South on International and a right turn if I remember correctly.
