This is my first pre-trip report so reader beware! Caveat given...

Cast of Characters

The DH

Huge Star Wars fanboi and dork that I finally convinced to go to WDW because well, we were going on Star Wars weekend or so we thought. More on that later. He likes to do his own impersonation of Grumpy now and again but as we near the date of the trip, he gets more and more excited. And I just know once we get there, his face will light up as it did the first time we rode California Screamin' at DL (he even said: 'aw yeah, that's what I'm talking about' after the first dip...so yes, dork).

(Broken thumb from snowboarding + beer = dorky smile apparently)

I am a self professed crazy cat lady (I've yet to see a stuffonmycat picture that hasn't made me grin) that has always been into Disney. Villains, Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland -- these are some of my favorite Disney things.

The Details on the why
I've been itching to go to WDW again for years. My only trip to the 'World' was when I was 9 and we had a family reunion there. We stayed at the Poly during the pre-Epcot days. Epcot was being built at the time. And while I've clocked many an hour at DL having lived and gone to high school and college in So Cal, I hadn't had the opportunity or well funds to really visit WDW again like I had wanted to.

Fast forward to 2006 -- Finally free of some rather nasty debt, I express my desire to hit the World to the DH. He agrees we can go and the planning began. In the end, we opted to go to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, stay at the Poly and book on the platinum package. Basically, I got my dream trip :) We also adjusted the dates were planning to go when we heard about Star Wars weekends so that the hubby could geek out.* Unfortunately, the dates for Star Wars weekends were not what we had thought they would be given past years, so while we'll be filled with pixie dust the force will, indeed, not be with us as we had hoped.

As you can see we have a couple meals unaccounted for. I'd invite suggestions. And yes, I know we have a lot of sit down meals, but we love to go out to eat. Dining is one of our favorite things to do. Plus, the DH is a walking, breathing garbage disposal. That boy loves his food :)

Crazy Cat Ladies unite! ;)

Bummer about missing SWW! I've been wanting to go for them for years now- maybe next year?

Sounds like fun...but you've got a lot more stamina than me! When you say wake up way early on your second day, after being on a red-eye flight the day before, and I realize you'll have the 3 hour time change from Seattle - ugh, I just want to roll over and stay in bed for another 3 hours!

On your last day when you asked for tour suggestions - how about the Segway Tour of Epcot? Fun and "behind the scenes" at the same time.

I have a feeling we'll be putting in some early nights (early for us being 11pm or so). I'm telling myself I'll be ok, though. I typically get up extremely early to go snowboarding and am able to bust booty on the mountain all day without feeling like a walking, talking zombie girl. But we'll see how it goes :) The adrenaline alone from being at WDW may be enough to keep me going.

I actually suggested that one to the husband and he said he had no interest in it at all. :( I think he's having flashbacks to the South Park episode where they made fun of segways or something :p

84 days to go and I'm finding it incredibly hard to not go out and buy up everything right now in preparation for the trip. I am /that/ looking forward to it. So far I've procured a baggalini that I am going to give a test run to see how my shoulder handles it. Disney crocs should be here any day now too.
