Hi there gang! Dawn and Caitlin here! Hope you're all ready for our first installment cuz here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It all started in the VERY early morning hour of 3am ( We always book flights as early as possible so we can maximize our vacation days) We were out the door by 3:30 and picked up grandma at 3:40. By 4am we were arriving at Detroit Metro Airport ready to embark on our adventure :cool1:

We had one bag to check so we had to stop at the check-in desk but the airport was pretty empty at that hour so we were through the line in 5 minutes flat  We then headed over to the TSA line. There was not really any line to speak of so we were up to the front in no time. And in no time, the very cute TSA agent was checking out and flirting with the lovely princess. So by 4:15 we were through security and at our gate where we had to wait for our 5:40 flight. At 4:30 we joined our fellow travellers in a very long line at that quintessential American restaurant........:laughing:MCDONALD'S

After we ate, and walked around a bit it was nearly time to board. When our section was called we joined all the others in line. As we looked around we noticed something. Something bad. Something gross. Something disturbing. There was a grown man standing there picking his nose, knuckle deep :scared1: Then it got worse! He then....brace yourselves....used that same finger to um well pick his teeth :sad2: The image still haunts us :rotfl2:

After a relatively uneventful flight we landed in Atlanta at 7:25.

By 8am we were back on a plane but this time headed to MCO

We landed at MCO just before 10am and quickly headed toward the ME.
I mean we've been to that airport so many times we know it blindfolded, right? Um, wrong! :rolleyes1 We got turned around and momentarily lost but we quickly figured out the mistake and found the monorail. The line for Pop was boarding as we headed down the red carpet and by 10:15 we were on board that magical express headed to the happiest place on Earth :woohoo:

As luck would have it, the first stop was....POP! :dance3: We arrived there at 10:50 and we were like this :dance3: I headed inside to check-in while Caitlin and grandma went to pick up her ecv from the baggage claim.

We should explain the reason for the ecv...the 3 of us went in 2008 and I tried DESPERATELY to convince my mom to book an ecv since she has a steel rod from when she broke it limbo-ing 20 years ago (and yes I said limbo-iong) Anyway, flash forward she wouldn't get one, overdid it on our first day and ended up in a wheelchair for the rest of the trip.:headache: In a wheelchair pushed by us. We love her dearly but pushing a wheelchair around WDW is EXHAUSTING!!! So this time we INSISTED she had to get an ecv! Ok back to the story at hand.....

Before we arrived I did the online check-in and when I saw the line I was so glad I did! There was only 1 other person in the online line while the other was super long! Maybe 20 families waiting? I was quickly through the line but was told our room wasn't ready so I decided to find the girls and grab lunch. At this point we were all really hungry since it had been 6 hours since our gourmet breakfast at MickeyD's.

When I found Caitlin and grandma they had the ecv and were turning in our carryon bags. Then it started....yep RAIN! The sky was really gray and it looked like it could rain all day  So we decided to go into the food court and satisfy our growling tummys.

Caitlin headed straight for the fridge!

to grab that ultimate Pop dessert the one,the only , the famous :worship: TYE-DYED CHEESECAKE. In her mind her entree was secondary. She was there for the cheesecake. For her entree she got the veggie calzone.

Grandma got the adult hotdog meal

and I got the kids hot dog meal (yes we have gourmet palates) For dessert we split a basic cheesecake.

We all thought our lunch was good and Caitlin did indeed find the cheesecake "AMAZING". It looked kind of gross to me but to each her own :rotfl2: (ps for those wondering....Caitlin says the after effect of the cheesecake is a myth  and she was kind of disappointed :lmao:)

After lunch it was time to hit the park! But what about the rain? And hmmm, which park to visit?

Woohoo..great start! We had our own airport adventure..I wish it was as easy as getting turned around! :lmao: Sounds like the ecv was definitely the right decision! I want some tie-dyed cheesecake..I'm with you, Caitlin! Maybe someday... :goodvibes:

oooh! It's officially underway! I'm excited to try the cheesecake also, but kind of afraid at the same time. I hope the rain doesn't hold up. Judging by the FB statuses, it sounds like you got a lot accomplished. Yay, can't wait to hear all about the trip in detail.

WOW, up at 3 am?! And I thought it was early getting up at 4:30! LOL. But it is definitely worth it when you're going to Disney World, right?! :thumbsup2

Can't wait for more. popcorn::

Nice opening and I'm sure you didn't let a little rain stop you!
And how was Caitlin's toe holding up to all the travel?

:cool1:Woo Hoo! I was bound and determined to find your TR tonight. I knew it had to be here somewhere....and YUP....I was right. Never made it to the boards yesterday and only took a quick glance at work today.

You girls are off to a great start. You are so lucky you live so close to the airport. That is one way too early flight. But checking in by 11am is a good thing! :thumbsup2

I am glad that grandma decided to rent an ECV and I can't wait to hear about the antics associated with that thing - especially since you almost named your TR after it.

The after effects of the tied died cheese cake -hmmm- that's a new one to me, but I am going to assume its like eating too much blue food coloring.....or when a little kid drinks too much cherry Koolaide....Am I right? :rotfl:

Great start and how great to be reading and seeing pictures at the same time!

You three are adorable! I so badly would like to try some of that cheesecake next Disney trip. :lovestruc I can't wait to hear more!

OK, cannot get the image of the knuckle deep digger out of my mind.

Got a big laugh out of the cheesecake myth buster. Now, to be completely scientific, did she try the cheesecake on more than one day? 1 out of 1 could be a fluke. :rotfl2:

Great start ladies. You gotta love those early morning flights!!! It does help when you live close to the airport too, we're only 10 minutes away so we always try and get first flight of the day too.\

I burst out laughing about the "gold digger"....in 2007 when my best friend and her family came with us we were on the bus one evening, I was sitting beside Brenda and Jasmine and her daughter Kayla were across from us....all of a sudden we see what you saw....except....wait for it.....he ate it:eek: We all looked at each other and gagged....poor Eric was at the back of the bus and he had no clue what we were hysterical about.....in the end he was more than pleased he hadn't witnessed it!!:lmao:

I'm lost about the effects of the tye-dyed cheesecake:rolleyes1

Can't wait to hear more, I'm so excited that you've started!!!!

It was the right decision but it wasn't as simple as it would seem to be

Tye-dyed cheesecake was soo good! The top is cheesecake and the bottom is red velvet cake. It was a tad bit messy though! My mouth was dyed and my tongue was bright red at the end :lmao:

The cheesecake was good you should definitely try it! Thank you for following along on FB!

Nice opening and I'm sure you didn't let a little rain stop you!

My toe was all healed by the time we left but my foot... that's another story
