I have already started a post about what to do on the last day of your trip. Now, as I begin planning, I am wondering what you do on the first day of your trip. We are planning on an overnight flight, arriving at 6:00 am. I am having a hard time deciding what is the most important, after registering at the hotel. Magic Kingdom? Character breakfast? I know that I will probably be exhausted after the flight, but sleep can come later! :) I am hoping your ideas will help me make a decision. Thank you!!

We're arriving at the airport at 11:30pm on our very first day, so not much to do by the time we get to the resort. We're going to be walking around and looking at everything and taking pictures that night.

The next morning, we're getting up early enough to be first in line at Epcot for rope drop. We'll grab breakfast at Everything Pop  and then head to the park. We're going to hit Soarin' first and then hustle over to Mission Space, grab a fastpass and head over to Test Track. After spending the morning at Epcot, we're going to head over to DTD to spend the afternoon buying stuff! We're probably going to eat at the Earl of Sandwich for lunch, the food looks so good there!

We'll leave DTD around 6:45pm to head to the Contemporary Steakhouse for our 7:30 ressies. Last time we'll ever get to eat here! :sad2: After supper, it's off to MK for the rest of the night! MK is open until 3am that day, we're hoping to be among the last ones out. :goodvibes

We won't arrive at MCO till around 1:00 pm. After we pick up our car and drive around till we find our home in Indian Ridge, we plan to grocery shop, bar-b-que, and hang out at our pool. We'll get a good night's rest and be ready to hit MK bright and early the next day. :goodvibes

We always head to the MK and get a hot dog at Casey's. Nothing exciting about what we do--it's just a tradition.

We get to MCO at 6AM - probably to ASMo by about 7-7:30AM. Going to check in and since I doubt we'll have a room that early, head over to the GF Cafe, eat some breakfast and then head over to DHS for the day. We're sooo excited!

we live close enough to drive (6 hrs) and i plan on arriving about 2:30 their time. we will head straight to MCO as my ex-husband is joining us this trip. then back to ASMo to check in and we'll spend the rest of the day @ DTD. my daughter wants to eat @ rainforest cafe.

I always arrive at Disney around 7AM our first day. And I always go to DHS and ride Star Tours as our first ride.

The problem that I am having is that DHS is having an Evening EMH that day, so we'll head over to MK and ride BTMRR or something.

Here's my two cents:

Check in to the Hotel

Get the lay of the land(of the resort) to see all it has to offer.

Eat if you're hungry

Ride the Disney Transportation(if you haven't rented a car) and get a feel for
it and how long it takes to get places.

If you've rented a car, drive around and enjoy all the sights and see where
everything is and how long it takes.

Enjoy a swim

Take a nap to refresh yourselves

Have a nice dinner somewhere

See a movie(DTD Westside), this is optional

Get to bed and wake up the next morning refreshed and ready to go.

Have a blast! :goodvibes

We always take it easy on our first day. We plan on getting to our hotel around 10 a.m. and will be spending the day relaxing at the pool, playing in the arcade then to DTD for some afternoon shopping/Dinner. Then we will return to the hotel for a early night.

We will be arriving early AM & staying off property; we'll do some grocery shopping, make a big lunch & hang by the pool. Then we're heading to CR to do some parasailing, then hop on the monorail to go to MK for the evening. We'll take a leisurely walk around the park (saving the commando-itinerary version for our full day at the park) and just take in the sights and "smell the roses".

If you're arriving that early then it's like having a completely full day so doing MK would probably be cool if you have the energy! I always arrive at MCO around 10am and so it's usually noon or later by the time I get to a park. So it's not a full day for me and we always go to DHS because it's the park we spend the least amount of time at so we can go ahead and get it done. It's kind of a tradition on the first day to go to DHS and have our first ride be the Great Movie Ride.

My family is from Seattle and last year we took a non-stop flight that departed at 11:30pm and arrived in Orlando at 7:30am. We pretty much got to our hotel and went straight to the Magic Kingdom. We ate lunch at Peco's Bills, went on a few rides, and had a couple frozen lemonades (yum). We felt like zoombies but we did everything at our own pace and didn't have to worry about making an ADR.

We did leave the park pretty early in the evening (like 5:30pm) and went back to our hotel for a quick dinner and sleep. The best part of this plan is the time change from the west coast and the east coast didn't effect us at all. We woke up at 6am the next morning feel completely rested.

At our resort OKW then take boat from OKW to DTD and have late lunch at HOB.Then that evening go to FW and do HDDR and take a hayride after HDDR.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

We will be arriving around 11:00 am. We will get the rental car, check-in at the resort, grab lunch at the food court. We are then going to go shopping around Orlando until about 7ish then dinner at O'hanas. No parks that day.

Our plan gets in at 11 am and after check-in we're going to MK. I'll have a first timer with me so it's mainly to walk around and take pictures, not going with any high expectations of getting on rides. We will also watch the 3pm parade and after that is dinner at O'Hana's. A relaxing first day.

Glad to hear it works out well with the time change! The last two times we've arrived at MCO around 5:30pm, so really only had time to have dinner that evening, and had a very hard time getting to sleep. Our plan this time with arriving at 7:45am is to take it easy, yet still be tired enough to sleep at night. We'll get checked in, go have breakfast at Chef Mickeys, then go back to the resort and enjoy the pool, etc. until we can get into our room to freshen up and rest a bit. We've got a late dinner ADR for Ohana, and hopefully after that we'll be ready to sleep so we can enjoy MK to the fullest the next day.

We are arriving at our hotel at about 8:00pm, so we are just going to Capn' Jack's in DTD for dinner and then straight back to the hotel for a good night's sleep so we can hit the parks bright and early the next day.

plane lands around 10am.
grab our rental car and be to hotel around 11am.
check-in - hopefully! and get settled
swim - weather permitting - or go to DTD
dinner @ Kona Cafe (our fave)
and then off to MK for the evening EMH's
