I had a look but couldn't see a thread for this.

DH wants to go and see this in 3D. Anyone been? If so, what did you think?

Thought it was one of the best films I've ever seen, HOWEVER - it gave me motion sickness. I'n not very good at simulator rides and this film gave me the same feeling I get when on a sim ride, as it's all in perfect 3D, which was just too much for me. I had to keep closing my eyes and just listening. I went with my mum and sister and they were perfectly OK.

Besides that it was a brilliant film and I would recommend it to anybody. I really hated having to close my eyes.

Hope you enjoy it.

I must be the one person in the whole country who doesn't want to see this, i think it looks rubbish :confused3

Must admit Nat, that I never wanted to see the film, but I was dragged kicking and screaming :rotfl: BUT I did enjoy it, despite the motion sickness!

ive been to see this and visually its very good. However the story line was weak and predictable. My husband was so looking forward to it but said after 20 mins youd got over how cool it was visually and the story wasnt nothing special.
Theres been a few on twitter taking the mickey out of where the director got the idea for it -From Pocohontas :rotfl2:

Pocahontas in space meets GI Joe! :teeth:

We've been to see it today. Matt reckons it's the best film he's ever seen. I wouldn't go that far, but it is pretty spectacular. It's possibly a little bit too violent in places and there's just too much death and destruction for me. It's effectively a war film (not my favourite genre) cum love story, cum fairy tale. The Colonel character is so clichéd. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed it and many of the scenes are breathtakingly beautiful, but not once does the very simple, very predictable storyline attempt to challenge the grey matter. That's not necessarily a bad thing, and I am a sucker for a happy ending, but I suppose I was expecting a mind-blowing plot - one that has you thinking for weeks afterwards. All that said, anyone who hasn't seen it needs to get themselves to their nearest cinema, pronto!

ETA: As for the 3D element, I felt the same as I did with Up. It enhances the experience, but you soon forget about it. There's nothing jumping out of the screen and you're only aware of it on a few occasions. We saw a trailer for the Disney/Tim Burton collaboration Alice in Wonderland and that looks incredible!

I'm going to see it on Saturday in 3D. Everyone I know who has seen it has said it was like the best film ever haha. :')

I'm another one that didn't want to see this film, trailer didn't grab my attention! But after all the people saying how amazing it was and my mum seeing it twice ( and wants to see it again ) i thought i better see what it was like, and i thought it was amazing, best film EVER!!!!!!

I'm going to see this tonight in 3d. My Mum and Dad went last weekend and my Mum was dragged kicking and screaming, as she didn't fancy sitting through yet another 'alien' film with my Dad, but she came home and said it was fantastic!

So I thought I'd better give it a try :goodvibes

Your not Nat, it doesn't appeal to me & I usually will see anything once but the more I see of the trailers the more it doesn't impress me except for the graphics

I went to see it when it first came out after being dragged by the b/f and I loved it, it was visually stunning and I enjoyed every minute :goodvibes

Saw it in 2D and loved it. I am a big softie for a happy ending though. If I even suspect that a happy ending is not coming I try to distance myself as much as possible! The film Changeling was one of the worst things I have endured but I couldn't switch off.

Avatar is more my cup of tea :thumbsup2

seen it last week

Great film , one of the best I've seen in a long time

Go and see it

We got to see the 3d version this evening and I have to say it was a great film. I didn't know what to expect and I guess I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much in 2d, but it was wonderful to see this new way of presenting films.

The colours and images were so sharp, the plot was quite obvious, yet kept me entertained. Not too sure if it'd be quite the same watching it on Sky Movies by Christmas though

Bring on Toy Story 3 and Alice in Wonderland 3d! :)

And bring on Beauty and the Beast 3D :) yay!!

Back to Avatar don't knock it before you try it like I did xx

Thanks everyone!! Well, I think you've convinced me to go. I'll let you know what I think afterwards.

It doesn't appeal to me either hence why I asked on here! DH has wanted to go since it was released, in fact he wanted to go when we were in WDW but I put my foot down ~ no way was I wasting our precious time at the cinema when we could see it at home!! :lmao: :lmao: Our eldest DD is now coming with us as she really needs to see this for her college work (the rest of her group went to see it in the holidays while we were away) so hopefully we'll be able to book it for next weekend.

Hope you enjoy it Elaine. I'm another one who really didn't fancy it but DBF took me last night and I thought it was FANTASTIC! I have to say it was a little too violent for my liking though, especially for a 12A.

I hope you enjoy the film Elaine.

No you're not, it doesn't appeal to me at all, Richard wanted to go and see it last night but it's so long I said it wouldn't be a good idea if we wanted to squeeze a meal in too and in the end his love of Thai food won!

It looks more like a computer game than a film to me, but I guess it means there is something for everybody with different tastes:thumbsup2
