Why is it that I haven't even got to use the points we bought last year, but I already want to add on. I think it would be cool to add on at another Epcot resort. But I keep telling myself I must first get some use out of these points. Just wonderin' how many others must control addonitis.:cool1:

Most of us don't control it- and just keep adding. LOL We had 160 pts at AKV and added on after going 1 time- 100 more at AKV. I can tell by just looking at the pictures of BLT- we will also add on there at some point. :thumbsup2 Both are gorgeous resorts!!

We bought 3 contracts this summer, and just put an offer in on another this morning. We don't do a very good job of controlling our addonitis. We have already taken 2 trips with our points in the fall, and have 2 more trips planned for this year. The new contract could provide another yearly trip.

After signing our first contract at Disney, we came home and within a week, signed on our 2nd. Addonitis is a very stong feeling to control....and we've lost to that battle terribly seeing that we now added on a few times since then. :rolleyes1

Last year, it took me only a week after my contract closed to add on BLT points through Disney.

I wanted to add more this month, but luckily, my DD decided to put the most expensive college at the top of her list so it has forced me to at least wait until we get a financial aid letter.

Adding on is just so easy that it is hard to resist! But so has going to WDW all these years so I am not surprised I am still obsessed with it!

Start adding up the member fees you pay each year, add the price of tickets, transportation and food for your trips. That will give you a nice cold shower. ;)

This always works for me! One of the reasons we pay our annual fees in a lump sum. Too easy to forget the cost if it comes out of the checking account every month, LOL.

Yup -- we wanted to add-on right away, until our first was not so "magical". Second & third trip were great. But we are still thinking and will probably think a LOT more before actually coughing up another big chunk of money. And then it will probably be resale.

So true! Best advice I have read on the boards today.

We bought a small resale last July, and added on 125 at BLT, about 7-10 days after our resale closed... We have only taken 1 trip so far, and I am ready to add-on more points, something in the 50-125 range again! So, fighting the add-one battle, I am, in no way, an expert! SORRY! :rotfl2:

Thats why we (me, DW and DS14) go at least twice a year. Buy annual passes, stay at least 10-12 nights total, use ME and control what we eat. What we cannot control is the airline fees and the ripoff of airport parking.

One one trip we fly into Palm Beach, visit my mother for a few days and she packs up a few nights of cutlets and meatballs for us. Yummmmm

Figure we spend about $5000 a year visiting Disney. Sounds like a lot but worth the smile it puts on our faces. Better than paying for a Florida condo in this market.

We bought our initial contract for BLT on May 11, 2009. On June 2, 2009 we did an add on at BLT and then in September 2009 bid on an AKV contract in which we closed in October 2009. Whew!

We still have not had our first DVC stay. But as you can see it's getting close!:dance3:

Thankfully my DSIL has gotten addonitis and is purchasing two DVC contracts at AKV and BLT. Like us she wants to share the points with the family. So between us we should have enough points to cover the family members we take with us in addition to vacations on our own.

I made the "mistake" of booking a 1 bedroom for our last trip and now I am thinking I need more points because we loved it. We had banked points so we had enough this year, but normally we only can get a studio.

Unlike some other we do like to cook on vacation and having the 5th person sleeper chair and the kticvhen has us going hmm...

Now do we add-on at BLT or more at AKV.

We added on at BLT before our first DVC trip. My only regret is not buying more BLT points at that time. The deal was too good to pass up and I have not seen a deal for BLT anywhere near what we paid
