The Fatten'em Plan: A Trip Report w/ pics

Louise was in pretty bad shape and the rain continued to pour, I bought her a pretzel to try and stabalize her tummy, again I was unable to buy it as a snack and had to charge it to the room.

While I sat with Louise during her recovery, the girls rode Kali River Rapids. By the time they came off the rain had stopped and Louise was feeling much better. We decided to have lunch at Pizzafari and then head back to the hotel for a rest before Hoop Dee Doo for Noel's birthday dinner.

We all had cheese pizza & chocolate cake

We spotted the characters taking a cruise as we walked through the park.

The bus ride to AKL is only about 5 minutes and it was nice to be back and have a rest in our room. There were a lot of animals out after the rain and everything seemed fresh and renewed.

At 4:30pm we jumped in a taxi out front of the hotel and asked the driver to take us to Hoop Dee Doo. He took us somewhere else, we weren't sure where exactly we were but it was not pioneer hall. I went in a building and asked and they told us to take a short bus ride to the show. It was only about a 5 minute ride away.

Our reservation card said table 25, I was surprised & pleased to see we were right at the stage beside the piano & banjo player.

The show was fun and the food was really good. Cornbread, Salad, Fried Chicken, ribs, brown beans & corn on the cob. We all enjoyed ourselves and during the show they went around the room announcing birthdays & anniversaries. Noel was in the spotlight for a moment or two and this made her happy. When she was introduced as 'Noel' the piano player started playing The First Noel and the audience laughed :goodvibes

Playing washboards (I don't know why they look so serious in the photos, really they were having fun)

I had a surprise booked for after HDD - a sleighride. With the platinum plan you get ulimited tours and recreation so I booked it. The sleigh was to meet us at 7:30pm right outside the show, but alas no one was there :guilty: .

It took me a few minutes to figure out that it was the rain that was the problem. The sleighs and carriages do not operate in the rain, and it was raining quite hard again, so we were stranded.

Plan B - take the bus to Wilderness Lodge, do some shopping inthe Mercantile and enjoy the WL Christmas decorations. Their tree is beautiful and while we were there a choir of young ladies sang carols.

We were all pretty tired at this point so we grabbed a cab over to AKL, had our nightly treat and drink in the lounge and a good nights sleep.

Tomorrow we are going to MK, Megan will cry tears of happiness and we will have a group hug :cloud9:

Also, find out the fate of this hat. :furious:

See you then :wave2:

I'm enjoying your report and looking forward to more. The platinum plan sounds great, it's fun to read about all of the things you get to do on the plan. :cool1:

Another great installment!

I feel for Louise, as that would be me getting off of the ride. Another reason why I am not sure I will be riding EE when I go! (Yes, I'm a chicken!) :scared: OK, not a chicken, just PETRIFIED!!!

Will there be more tomorrow? :confused3

How frustrating to pay top dollar for the Platinum Plan and have to endure poor service. CM's should be better trained!

Lol the fate of the snack credits and the Platinum plan. Happened to me to.
Great to see Noel having a good time to! And i really enjoyed the safari to.

   Oh to think I should have been there with you Cass...and instead was having my own protein spill on the Las Vegas Strip . Next year girl!!!

Great report Cass! I just got the joke, "platinum" and "fatten'em". HA HA HA! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I am looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip!

:confused3 aM i MISSING SOMETHING??? :confused3

Oh poor SuAnne, I'm so sorry you were sick in vegas, but better sick there than at Disney.

Bee. Fatten them = Fatten'em rhymes with Platinum. Just our goofy sense of humour.

Another thing we did that was goofy was everywhere we eat including LeCellier, Narcoosee's, California Grill - we asked the servers when the characters would start coming around to the tables :rotfl:

Thank you.. I thought that the platnium was a joke.... but am gla to kn ow that was real... just never heard of it before.

on with the report....

Bee, the magic your way plan has different levels.

There is the regular magic your way with dining, the premium plan and the platinum plan. The Platinum Plan includes breakfast, lunch, & dinner, dinner shows, snacks!,, horseback riding, water craft, golf, tours, spa treatments and a few other thing like a keepsake - wait until you get a load of the keepsake they gave me, It could barely fit in my suitcase. :rotfl2:

Boy am I S-L-O-W!

I didn't even get the fatten'em and platinum connection. I figured you just ate too much while in WDW!!! :rotfl2:

We did eat too much, it was ridiculous, on top of all the included meals - we also had the lounge offerings at AKL. On reflection I would say if you are taking the Platinum Plan don't bother staying concierge, it's just too tooo much food.

D'oh..... When we went last year we just got the regular dining plan.... now I do recall there are different levels......me slapping my head... duhhhhh

I would really write a letter to WDW and explain to them, if they are offering such a top notch plan, you shouldn't have such confusion.

I am enjoying reading your TR.

Yes I will definately write a letter with my thoughts on the PP. The concierge staff were aware of the problem (it happens all the time)

I exchanged some emails with concierge over the last couple of days to get the last days snack charges reversed. I bought 16 mickey rice krispie treats on the last day (50.00 worth) for my DD to take to her class as a treat. All that was refunded and looked after.

Day Three

Well, I let the girls sleep in a little this morning (until 7:30am) but then we were up and dressed and in good spirits because today was Magic Kingdom Day.

We went up to the lounge for a coffee & juice and again I felt like the bad guy warning them not to eat because we were having breakfast at the castle. Noel could not resist the tiny chocolate chip muffins and had three. Megan and Louise ate too, I was the only good one, saving myself for CRT.

We left AKL at 8:15am because I wanted Louise & Megan to see the little opening show with the train & characters. The AKL bus came within 5 minutes and we were at MK by 8:40am. On the bus we met Dreamer and her family - all in their tie dye - matching tee shirt - splendor. We had a nice chat on the way over and I offered them my La Nouba tickets because we were not using them. As it happened, they were able to use them and everything worked out great.

The crowds were so light out in front of the MK, I've never seen so few people at opening time, it was very encouraging.

The opening is a fun little show and then we were walking up Main Street USA. Louise was choked up with emotion, so happy to be here.

Our ADR was for 9:05am so we headed straight for the castle and in to see Cinderella in the Lobby.

Breakfast was pretty tasty, I'll post a pic of breakfast on a dining report. We had visits from Jasmine, Belle, Fairy Godmother & Snow White. The little wish making ceremony was corny but fun for the little ones.
