The Fatten'em Plan: A Trip Report w/ pics

What a fun TR Cass! :thumbsup2

I enjoyed reading about all the magic on your trip and seeing it through newbies' eyes are always fun! :goodvibes

Thank you for sharing, I can't wait till you go again! :lmao:

Sounds like you had a great time Cass! You got me interested in the VIP tour now to surpirse my DFi with on our honeymoon. It seems like it made your day flow so well.

Did you choose to have the sit down lunch or was it "included." I know that you have to pay for the meal yourself but can you do a CS meal instead?

Can't wait to read your next day and to see what the next surprise was.

The guides will do whatever you want for lunch. Jane did mention to me if I preferred a counter service lunch we could do that instead, but I was happy with her arrangements.

Sounds like another wonderful day. I so enjoy reading your TR, that I can't wait to get home from work to see if there is an update. It doesn't sound like you need any friends, but keep me in mind. :yay:

Cass - I am LOVING your TR !!!:thumbsup2 You are dangerous ;) - first, I booked concierge at AKL (last June - and it was AWESOME!) - now I'm bookmarking the VIP link . . . what next ????!!! :scared1: :lmao:

subscribing. what an awesome day at MGM. totally looking into that for our next trip...

Wonderful trip report. I am 90% sure you were on the bus with us one day (Dec 10-15) but I cannot remember which bus it was going where but the people all look familiar and we were staying at AKL. Sounds like a great trip!

Thanks Cass! Now, I know what I want for my 40th b-day. It is still a few years away, but, now I can actually look foward to it!! :cool1: I am sending DH an email at work with the link for the VIP service, so, that he can start savving for my 8 hour tour!! LOL ;)

Woohoo! Enjoy. Based on my park experiences I think MGM is a good place for the VIP Tour guide. Maybe DAK now too because the have the Nemo show and the Lion King show.

I have to tell you it was just the most relaxing day and I didn't look at my watch once or worry about a thing. :goodvibes

What a great TR I had never heard of the platinum plan or guided tours either. It all sounds so great especially going straight to the front of shows and having sectioned off areas for parades and fireworks. Can't wait for the next installment.

I am just working on the next installment and I found some missing pics from yesterday.

Noel and Megan having dessert at Narcoosees

It was Megan and Jane that had the Brownie Sundaes, Noel had the Smores. If you are keeping track she had Smores at Le Cellier and Prime Time Cafe too :rotfl:

Electric Water parade, we were soo close to it on our Pontoon boat

Fireworks Cruise pics - it was a nice way to see Holiday Wishes

0narnew3.jpg

I peeked into Park Fare as we were passing through the lobby of the GF, much to my surprise Cindy and the gang had no one with them so we snuck in for a pic.

0narnew5.jpg

Noel often reads trip reports on the DIS and after this pic she said to me 'Suzy and Pearla are my mothers and I'm their little baby'

If you know what I am talking about here, you are laughing. If you don't know what I'm talking about here, feel grateful. LOL

More later and thanks for reading

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That comment your daughter said made me laugh!!!

Those pictures from the fireworks cruise were great! Now I can't remember was the music piped onto your boat or did you say it was from another boat?

We just snuck up beside another boat and listened to their piped in music!

The fireworks pictures are beautiful. I did the Epcot cruise as it was recommended to me by the planning staff. Maybe next time i will do the Wishes cruise.Lol Smore lovers .

We just snuck up beside another boat and listened to their piped in music!

We had a pontoon boat the 1st week of Dec for holiday wishes and the music was piped into ours. I think it just depends on what boat you have. When we were picked up (from WL) they had Christmas music playing and when Wishes started the music was coming through the same speakers.

Isn't it awesome!! holiday wishes from the lagoon are amazing!! When the fireworks fill the sky from left to right, its amazing! And the water parade: SO fun!! I hadn't seen it since I was a kid! We all had a laugh at the dinosaur song. Growing up in the 70s we got up and did the dance for the kids, they LOVED it!

our pontoon boat was really small, I imagine it would hold 8 - 12 people max. Maybe you had a bigger boat?

I saw quite a few boats out there having lots of fun, music playing etc... ours was just a quiet little layed back cruise lol

Okay so where was I?

Right, we had all gone to bed with smiles on our faces after an amazing day at MGM, and our dinner & fireworks cruise at the GF.

For all the things we would do and see, a lot of my best memories revolve around simple things like the girls giggling & whispering in bed after the lights went out. I'm sure all of us will remember Noel's 'This old man, he played one" rendition that she sang to us when she couldn't sleep :rolleyes1 and the night she had gas! :scared1:

The next day was my 42nd Birthday and I had a few things planned. I had let Louise in on them because we were going to be splitting up for the first time this trip and I needed to give her the heads up.

I had also booked breakfast at Chef Mickey's for the ungodly hour of 7:05am so we all had to be up and out front for a taxi by 6:40am :headache:

Lying in my bed I started having second thoughts about Chef Mickey's, I was tired and the thought sleeping later than 6:00am was very appealing. I whispered in the dark across to Louise...

Me: 'Pssst... Louise, would you mind not eating with the mouse in the morning?'

Louise: Practically YELLING
'Not eat with the mouse? are you CRAZY?, We're going!"

and that was that.

Day 6 - December 18th

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday, Dear Cassie
Happy Birthday to me

The wake up call comes at 6:00am :headache:

and I'm feeling a little rough after the two big Nargaritas I consumed last night at Narcoosees. :headache:

As I try to stay awake and gather the energy to rise, I sense some movement in the room, someone is flitting about and singing cheerfully.

:sad2: :sad2:

It's Louise!

At 6:10am she is already up, showered, dressed (in a cute Mickey Mouse Tee) and ready for breakfast with her man.

:headache:

I ask her if she might just reconsider and just go to Boma in 2 hours...

'not a chance', she replies then adds 'Happy Birthday, now get moving'

No respect for the birthday girl.

So I struggle up and we wake the girls who are also dead to the world. Don't ask me how we did it, but we all managed to get up, dressed and out front of AKL by 6:40am, a miracle if you ask me.

The bellman called a cab for us and it was there in a moment, we were underway to the Contemporary and I was starting to feel better and more awake. :)

We arrived just before 7:00am and took the escalators to Chef Mickey's. Wow the CR is so quiet in the morning, no monorail, no guests, just 2 CMs at the front desk, vewy vewy quiet.

Only one family is at Chef Mickey's at the podium, so we join them and every few minutes more yawning, red eyed folks with sleepy, grumpy toddlers arrive.

I have on my Birthday Button and I get several Happy Birthdays from guests and CM's alike. Every time I heard it I felt startled. I kept forgetting that it really was my BD. :rotfl:

We were checked in at the podium and taken through an empty restaurant to our table. Our server comes by with a pot of coffee, bless her heart and some orange juice. We go up to the buffet and we are the only ones up there getting food.

I am used to being at Chef Mickey's at dinner time and beating off people for the last slice of roast beef. This is a new one on me, all this open space and full platters of fresh food :thumbsup2

So I see Minnie's breakfast pizza at the kids buffet area and take a slice. Yummy, yum yum, I go back for more, it's very tasty and I mention that to her when she comes by. I think she was flattered.

So even if you do not retain anything else from my trip report, remember this - Minnie's breakfast pizza is the bomb and give it a try next time you are at Chef Mickey's :thumbsup2

We have visits from Goofy and Pluto

and even Donald!

Everyone is in good spirits and the characters keep noticing my birthday button and giving me the high fives and thumbs up. :goodvibes

Finally Louise's man comes by

Just as we are finishing our breakfast & coffees the napkin twirling song begins :cool1: I had forgotten about this song and Megan and Louise were twirling along, Chef Mickey's is fun. :)

Next up, the separation

Awww you are just jealous b/c you don't know how to do the Dinosaur dance.

Cass, I have always LOVED your TRs, this one is no different. Thank you SO much for sharing it with us. I see you just posted the next installment, I'm really excited!!
