:cool1::cool1:

So excited is anyone else making anything off the creative DISigns forum? I am currently making tip envelopes! :) so much to do with only four months to go!!

I made my fish extender. You may have already saw it if you have been on the Facebook group. I went with a Halloween theme.

I had a few issues while making it and it is a wee bit crooked:rotfl:

It looks fantastic, it doesn't look crooked to me, but even if it is, a few hefty "gifts" in each of the pockets will keep it straight:rotfl:

I'm doing alright with my gifts, but yet to start the actual FE, though I do have an idea in my head of what I want to achieve, guess I really ought to get cracking!

What camera do all of you use to capture your priceless memories on your vacations? As a strict DSLR user I would like to purchase an inexpensive compact camera to take photos of our trip. I don't want to drag my DSLR on the beach & risk it getting broken or stolen. Has anyone ever had any success with any of the waterproof cameras? I have been eyeing the Canon waterproof cameras. Just when I think I have a nice little camera picked out, I read the reviews & then I change my mind. Then I had an epiphany, why not ask my fellow cruisers what cameras they use. You all would be the very best source of information out there!!!

I currently have a sony cybershot but it takes grainey photos & it is slow. When I go to photograph my kids, by the time it takes a picture, my kids are gone out of the frame. I need something that can photograph my kids on the run and have some success indoors as well as outdoors.

So what cameras to all of you use and what are their pros & cons? Please help me choose a camera soon so that I can order it & have time to play with it before our trip.

On another note... Nice job on the FE gilsan!!!

We just bought the canon d20 waterproof camera. I think it is very nice, and I am impressed with the pictures it takes. We also have DSLR that we use. I wanted the d20 for this trip but I think it will be great to take to the local beach. I will post a few pics I took with it later.

I posted the least crooked looking picture. I will post a picture of of the real crookedness.

I have started on the FE gifts. The ones I am making for the kids are turning out better than expected so that is good:banana:

oh my goodness. I just know that you are going to make me look bad with your awesome gifts. I have a few ideas but have not made any permanent decisions yet. I have to take it easy because I still have to budget in the DOTD trivia sheets & door magnets.

Thanks for the camera tip. Use that camera a bunch, share your photos with us & give me a good review when you've played with it a while. I can't wait to see the pictures.

I am sure whatever you decide to do will be great!

Those are some neat photos gilsan!!! Thanks for sharing! I am wondering... how does this camera do taking pictures of things in motion (like kids/pets)? How about in low light? Fireworks? I am sure that not one camera will do EVERYTHING. Thanks so much for your time & opinion! Maybe I will just go & buy that camera.

I have had a GENIUS idea for my FE... but I have to see if DCL will let me do it. It's such a good idea I'm bursting to tell anyone and everyone-- but I can't! I really hope DCL approves it, I'm trying to figure out how to get permission now. Anyone have experience with contacting them for things like this?

Attention fellow cruisers

We have only

Sounds interesting! I only think you would have a problem if it was somehow offensive, otherwise I think you should be fine. I don't know who you would contact about such a thing.

I think the camera is f2.8 so it does fairly well in low light with no flash. In low light I would probably use the DSLR and either the 50mm 1.8 or our 30mm 1.4 lens.

It has a fireworks setting, I haven't tried it yet. We probably will mainly use as the camera that I would throw in my bag for when we don't want to carry the DSLR and all the gear.

I did look at the Canon D10 the model that the D20 is replacing. I saw it on sale for a good price on Amazon.com. I was unable to have it shipped to Canada. In Canada the D10 was only $60 less than the price that I paid for the D20 from B&H photo. Since it was the new model I went for it, also because it had GPS and I really wanted GPS. It might be worthwhile for you check the D10 I think the price difference in the US is bigger.

Hi fellow cruisers!!! Does anyone know if the coupons that are sent in the mail (free dining plan) can only be used by the person that it's mailed to?

THANKS!

definitely not offensive, but still something I'd feel better getting approved. i can't find anything in FAQ on the DCL site- but i did put in an information request there...

I didn't think it would be offensive:lmao:. Hopefully they will get back to you with an answer, because I am intrigued, and want to see what it will be!

bummed that DCL said no. but I'm hoping i can find a way to work around the issue and find a substitute.

FYI- pumpkins may not be brought on board as they are perishable, even though they aren't for eating!
