The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part IV: My Pineapple Needs a Refill!

Congrats on your review CP!!! We knew you could do it!!!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Congratulations, Jackie! Of COURSE you passed with flying colors! I wish all my sons teachers had been Jackie clones!

Ahhhh, thanks! I wish I could teach your kids -- they look like so much fun!!!

Congrats on the great review CP! As a fellow teacher I know how stressful those can be!!

I was observed and reviewed before Christmas and everything when fine!!

Well once again congrats...and I'm wearing jeans and showing a video today...my kids are being spoiled they'd better not get used to it...Monday we're back to lecturing LOL

Thanks, Jen!!! Amazingly, I wasn't too stressed this year. My AP had emailed me and asked if there was a day/class period that I wanted her to come. So, I picked my 8th graders (whom I ADORE) and the start of my favorite unit. We were all just ourselves and did our thing.

I joked afterwards to a colleague that I could stop teaching for another year. :rotfl:

I wore jeans yesterday, but I had to give a test and do the spelling bee in each class. Not nearly as much fun as showing a video!!! ;)

Hey all!

CP, congrats on the review! We all knew you rocked! :goodvibes

Ok TK---here are my AP questions:

1. We are going in September, and my parents have already said that they want the usual June family trip to be back to WDW in 2010, so we would be more than likely going in June 2010. These are the two really known trips--obviously with an AP, we may be tempted to go more. Let's say that we get the base ticket for both trips for 7 days without the hopper--is it worth it then? Keep in mind it would be Tom, myself, and Megs. What about hopping tickets for 7 days for the two trips---worth it then?

I can't pull the numbers right now, because I have to go to work. I actually went out of sequence and answered this question last. Most likely, I think you'll make out better with the AP. Maybe Heidi can field this if she's on today.

2. Can you get the dining plan when you have an AP? If you can't, why not?

You can get the dining plan with an AP. My mother has done this several times, and I believe Lara is doing this as well.

3. I would not purchase an AP until I got to WDW---correct? So that I would have one full year from purchase??? Correct? So then would I not be able for free dining/package discounts?

You can purchase the AP before you get to the parks. What happens is you will receive some sort of claim ticket that you will then turn in at a guest service ticket counter. Your pass will then be active from the first date of use. Not date of purchase. Because that wouldn't make sense for them to sell them online and have them be valid right then. I'm pretty sure this is how it works.

You will not be able to use package discounts in the sense that you have the annual pass. However, you could still take advantage of free dining should you choose. If you purchase your annual pass before, in order to qualify for free dining, all you need to do is purchase a one day pass to get free dining for your length of stay. We've actually done this when we had annual passes, and it's worked fine. We save the one day tickets and then apply them towards the purchase of a pass when we need it. It's hard for me to know which direction to steer you in, because I think you're using the 40% off pin, right?

4. What kind of AP rate discounts do they often run on rooms, and when are they traditionally?

It really varies. Obviously your best discounts are going to be during non peak times. January, September to name a few. If you really want a history of this, I believe on mousesavers . com they have past discounts listed.

Typical can be anything from $49 for a value, $89-100 for a mod, and on up for deluxe.

I feel like there are more questions, but that will get us started! Thanks, Jen

HTH! :goodvibes

My inlaws are coming up today so unfortunately I can't run the math for Jen.

Liam's new speech evaluation has been scheduled for Feb 19th. In the mean time we are trying to teach him sign language and he's making progress with that already.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Eveeeeeening Lapuettes.

Has anyone seen PKB around?? What about Crissy too? I haven't seen her around lately. :rolleyes2

Thanks, TK!!! :goodvibes

Heidi, I am so happy that Liam is making progress! Is DH saying the words with the signs yet?

LL, I was just thinking about Crissy earlier today. Has she been on FB at all?

I hope everything is okay.

How has your weekend been so far, LL?

It's been emotional! :rotfl2:

We took our car in to be checked over by my Dad's mechanic, he told us we needed tires so badly that he wasn't going to let us leave with them on our car. Which is ironic because our car was just inspected on Thursday and they passed. Soooo, my parents were kind enough to lend us the money until our tax return comes in. Then the mechanic found a petrified bird in the pan underneath my oil pan. He thinks I hit it and it got stuck in there. My dad is now calling me the Bird Lady. All of the car issues were going on while Marc, myself and my mom were shopping for some new apartment furniture so I was completely overwhelmed. So yeah...I'm glad to be home and DISing.

Yick. That bites about the tires!!! Double yick about the bird!!! You know who I wish was still around that would really appreciate that story -- willwriteforears!!! Remember her return from her Disney trip? :rotfl:

I am glad to be home and DISing now, too!

That's right! She really would appreciate that story. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: I was completely grossed out by it. The mechanic probably thinks I am a total ditz. Bad tires, dead birds. :rotfl2: He wrote a list for my Dad to give me about tire rotation, oil changes and tire pressure.

That's okay -- you can be a total ditz when it comes to car stuff. My dad keeps track of all that stuff for me. In fact I am headed over there tomorrow for him to change the oil, rotate the tires, and check their pressure.

Are you taking your car to Disney in May?

I am just going to have this mechanic take care of my car for me from now on. My mom swears that she alone pays this mans mortgage. Both of my parents have older cars that are just starting to need work. I just like having someone you can trust, you know?

That is to be determined. I think there are many changes to the May trip that just might surprise you, which will be posted about tomorrow. I don't have the energy tonight.

Oh, I completely understand about finding a mechanic you can trust!!!

Changes? Seriously? I thought we agreed that there would be no more changes! ;)

Good morning, guys!

I was so excited yesterday, POTC 2 happened to be on tv in the afternoon, and I was able to go to the gym and do my whole workout to that. No greater motivator than the good captain, let me tell you. :thumbsup2

Jen, I did a real quick comparison, just based on the adult ticket. 2 7 day base tickets (no hopping) for an adult without tax cost $456. An annual pass for an adult without tax is $469. Not too much of a difference there and you gain the hopping with the annual. And potential discounts. The only issue with an annual is you have to be certain you're taking those two trips. Otherwise, it's really a waste. HTH. :goodvibes

Morning, TK and Lapuettes!!! That's awesome that you were able to workout to POTC 2.

I am kind of cranky this morning -- since I had to keep the gate for five hours yesterday, all my weekend chores have to be done today and then I will head back to work tomorrow. I really do not like having only one day off in the course of a week. I am not going to feel recharged at all. Grrrr.

I know how you feel. I normally like to make my appointments for Tuesday, while DS is in preschool, but the hair salon I go to could only fit me in for a trim on Monday. Normally Monday is pajama day, so it just sort of throws a kink in our regular routine. That being said, having my hair cut sounds more fun then weekend chores. :lmao: I am in desperate need, my bangs are too long, my hair is too long, and it's taking too long to blow dry in the morning.

I'm debating leaving it long enough to put it in a ponytail, or chopping it off and having a bob style I've had in the past. Decisions, decisions.
