The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

That being said, I've spent time just reading this thread and I am very impressed with the kindness you all show one another, :grouphug: and the TONS of tips I've picked up here! In real life, I feel like pooh surrounded by Cinderellas. I'm glad to find a place where we can just discuss issues/concerns without pressure. Ok, enough mushy stuff!

I SO agree with you. This is one of the nicest, friendliest, nonjudgemental threads on the Disboards:grouphug::flower3::hippie:

We are going to Disneyland for the first time in November - has anyone who is pooh-sized here had experiences on the rides? is it as roomy as most rides in WDW are?

Hubby and I went a couple of years ago (tied to a conference) and are going back next summer (again, tied to a conference) and they are almost the same as WDW with pooh-sizes. The only ones I remember having issues with (24-28 depending on the brand of clothes) was the Nemo subs (didn't even try it- I have major claustrophobia) and a couple of the queues that I hit weird in the hips anyways. I didn't know until later that there is a handicapped viewing for the Nemo subs that you can view that simulates the ride- I definitely would have done that...

Space Mountain was better for me at DL because instead of bobsled style they're side-by-side- much easier to get out of, but can squeeze the hips a little bit. The Matterhorn was one that I had a little bit of trouble getting out of (sled style like WDW's Space Mountain).

The other thing to watch out for is that if they're expecting "abnormal" heat, they're really not prepared for it. We were there in June and they experienced high heat, and a lot of the stores could not keep up with the AC and cool the buildings like we're used to in WDW. Even the monorails and some of the other transportation options (hotel trolleys) are not AC'd, so that break didn't help.

Allears has a DL section that while doesn't have a pooh size area, does have good pictures of most of the ride vehicles so you can see what they look like.

I cant believe I never knew this thread existed before today....

Hello! I am Pooh-Sized!!! I wear 26/28 clothes, flucuate weight around 280 and am perfectly proportioned... round everywhere!

I skimmed thru the thread, and going to throw in my 2 cents, even though some of the topics are quite old....

I just ordered a new swimsuit from Woman Within... the jogger-style with attached shorts (they haven't arrived yet so have no idea how they fit)... been shopping with Woman Within for years now... I love their selections.

For our 1st trip in 2007, I wanted to get some Disney Tees, but most stores didn't carry the plus-sizes that I needed or didn't carry Disney.... but I did find a store that had a few selections and at a great price... not a likely place to look but found them at the Family Dollar Store for around $8 or so... only a handful of selections but they seem to change each year... we now have several different ones.

As for rides... I have never had an issue at WDW fitting on ANY ride that I wanted to ride... wish the same could be said for some of the local amusement parks around here. We plan on going to US for a day this Sept. and I am worried that I won't be able to ride all that I want to, but not afraid to try the test seats.

So glad I found this thread....

Is it just me or is that the most ridiculus narrow turnstile in the universe?? Who besides a child can go though that thing without going sideways? I loathe it. I am short with a big rear end so I have to go on tip toes sideways to get though it. WDW rocks except that turnstile well it sucks! Why can't the handicapped entrance be right there also or how hard would it be to replace that turnstile with one of normal width? I love HM but that turnstile makes me feel like a freak show attraction. Ok rant over- just needed to vent!

The turnstiles are gone with the new queue they put in at HM.

Anti perspirant deodorant works great too. I use the spray on kind and it helps .I have used both diaper creams and both work it just leaves you sticky were the spray deodorant on leaves you dry.

I use the deodorant daily for under the girls. I use a solid - just a couple of swipes and I am good!;)

Yes, I do mean the girls. I was trying to think of a politically correct, non-offensive way to say it. :hippie: Lol! A very kind person here PM'd me about the fungal/yeast infection and I tried some cream today. I am suprised at the relief it has brought so soon and I plan on using it throughout the weekend. In my response to the message, I told the person that after thinking about it, its not that suprising. That's the perfect environment for yeast to thrive.

I had that once and I was miserable, I too was embarassed and waited until I couldn't stand it to go to the Dr. :confused3

Now I use Body Glide under the girls where my my bra band rubs, no more problems. BTW cornstarch promotes yeast, so don't use any powders containg cornstarch.

I have a question that isn't really about being Pooh sized, but more about foot comfort. I have used moleskin in the past, but it is annoying to have to cut out different sizes from the sheet and then find they are not the right size. I have read a couple of posts that some people use the body glide for their feet and that it prevents blisters and rubbing.

Anyone done that and does it work?

After 2 HORRIBLE trips to WDW where my feet blistered everywhere wearing my Keens and my Teva's and my sneakers, I went to wearing crocs, and putting a little body glide under my toes and across my instep and top of my foot and boy has it worked!! I honestly was in TEARS having to take my Teva's off at the airport to go through security and then have to put them back on again! I have also used it on the kids feet if I saw they had a little reddness at the end of the day for the next morning so they didnt develop blisters - works great for us. I like to put it on and then kind of let it dry a bit so it doesnt get icky in my crocs ( :

1. Do all the rides have turnstiles?

2. What is the biggest you guys have beeen and were still able to ride at WDW?

3. Has anyone done the swim with the dolphin thing?? How did the wet suits work out for ya?

1. Some do, some don't. Since they've been revamping some queues, I don't remember exactly which ones do and don't. But if they do and you're worried about it, use the HA gate.

2. This picture's from my last trip in 10/10, so you can get an idea of my body type. I was a 26/28, weight centered around my belly and hips and butt, and was able to ride everything I wanted to ride (which was just about everything there, except things that spin).

3. Can't help with that one.

Just got back from DL last month. I'm a 24-28ish and 5'10. I rode ToT, Cali Screamin', both carousels, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Roger Rabbit, Space Mountain, BTMRR, GRR, Soarin', Little Mermaid, POTC, HM, Mad Tea Party and the Matterhorn. Wow, that doesn't seem like very much!! The only thing that caused any trouble was Space Mountain. My knees were up to my chin, and I had to cram them under the bar. Bruised up my legs on that one. I much prefer the WDW version. No trouble getting in/out of anything. The one thing that I might have had trouble with was the Silly Symphony Swings. I sat down, and it was tight. However, DS chickened out, and I had to get off the ride and sit with him.

great thread. this may have be suggested before but what the hey. for chaffing i highly recommend monistat's anti chaffing gel. it comes in a small tube. pure heaven for the inner thighs.

I don't remember seeing it, so I apologize if it's been discussed. But does anyone have any good moisture-wicking/padded sock suggestions for us? I really don't want to pay $15 for a pair of socks so something cheaper would be a god-send, but I'll take all suggestions. Shoes I've got sorted out, but I'm a sneakers at all times sort of person with narrow feet and DP has wide feet so sometimes it's a nightmare to find both!

I like the thinner Adidas sport socks - I found a pack of 6 or 8 pairs at Costco for 12$. In our area, Kohls and JC Penney usually carry them too. The thinner ones are padded in all the right places, but aren't so thick they make my shoes fit funny.

Thanks for the info. I had the same question!
