The Event

I really liked it. I loved Lost so I'm excited to see another show that you have to think about.

I had goosebumps the whole time!

DH and I watched it last night and loved it. I'm now wondering who "They" are and how the father and his two daughters are a "key" to something.

Liked it a lot (Love Lost too though)....hope it makes it through the season. Given the type of show that it is, and the fact its on NBC means it probably won't though.

She had a hangover and he went snorkling then to dinner with the other couple they met while she stayed in the room. When he got back his key card didn't work and there were other people in his room.

You know that scene reminded me of the movie Enemy of the State. It also got me thinking that time had somehow changed (a la Back to the Future, alternate 1985 kind of way).

What the heck????? Where did the plane go? This is nuts!

I think this show should have come with a warning. I can only imagine how families/friends of people who were injured/killed in 9/11 must feel watching something like this.

That was my first thought, too, when it went to commercial. But after it came back, I immediately thought of Back to the Future and the Delorian going back in time. It was pretty much done the same way.

I liked it. I loved LOST until the very end. Not sure I want to get that hooked again. I think They are aliens. "They saved us" Is the event the airplane disappearing? Who was the pilot and why did he love Sean's girlfriend too?

I watched it and loved it BUT I unfortunately feel asleep at the end. Was there anything more with the home invasion ... where is Sam, the little girl?

The airplane pilot was Michael Buchanan the father of Leila, the girlfriend.

I too am wondering if the airplane disappearing was 'the event' or will there be another 'event'.

I wonder too what cruise ship they were on. I have cruised before and wonder how Sean could get back on the ship if he was not a registered passenger.

I think the "Event" already happened. What ever it is, it has to do with the lady near the President that said "They saved us." She knows about the Event. The President doesn't yet.

I agree with the fact that Jason Ritter was amazing! Nothing like his Dad and he didn't have to lean on his name to be a star. He's definitely an action/drama actor. If nothing comes out of this show he will be the break out star!:thumbsup2

And that CUTE actor who plays Simon..

Funny, he looked so much like his Dad in 2007 compared to today!

I watched a little bit but honestly I didn't enjoy it much. It had the same feeling as the series Lost or 24 or those other plot heavy, you're never actually given the FULL picture stories.

I didn't watch Lost after the first part of the first season because the whole it's a mystery and we'll always changing the scenerio thing was not very relaxing to me. I sometimes enjoy mystery and puzzles and having to solve the plot but it was just too much when I just wanted to sit and veg out and enjoy the show.

I thought it a bit annoying that 40 minutes or so into the show and they were still doing screen credits.

the jumping back and forth is a little annoying, especially if you take your eyes off the screen for a few minutes and don't realize they jumped back 8 weeks, or 13 years, or...?

Hmm...breakout star is if you are a newbie. Jason has been around acting for a long time! He has been in at least 2 other tv series before. One was a family favorite Joan of Arcadia. He is an excellent actor.

I just finished watching and I really liked the show. I am also concerned about what happens if it doesn't get viewers..but I don't think that is going to happen (I Hope).

I also read that the writers plan on giving us answers this season...It will not be like Lost and dragged out.

I think that Sofia is an ET!! Especially with the plane going through what looked like a worm hole!

Jennifer Aniston was a "breakout star" on Friends even though she'd been in MANY TV shows. There is a major difference between an actor and a star.

 I thought the same thing! they must have credited every person that could have ever done ANYTHING on that show.

I just watched online. I really liked it!! I never watched Lost so can't compare. I hope it stays on the air. :)

Is anyone watching this? It seems a little like "Lost" to me, in the fact that we are going to have to watch many, many episodes (seasons?!?) before truly knowing what's going on.

I watched the whole thing, but only started to enjoy (maybe) towards the end. I LOVED 24 and I think they're trying something with this, but I honestly don't think it will make it. I'll try watching it a couple-few more times and see how I feel, but it's not looking good so far.

So, I will look forward to all the CSIs, and Law and Orders :cool1:

Are you guys talking about the names that appeared after each commerical when the show came back?

If so, those were the names of the main character that was being featured in that segment. They weren't 'credits' of people working on the show.

I was WONDERING what "credits" they were talking about!!! :confused3

Those words were the only way I was able to catch up!!
