The epitome of entitlement mentality!

The woman uses people and will continue to use anyone that will allow her too.

I have no sympathy for her in that respect, but to all the remarks about disability for being obese: Do you all really think anyone WANTS to be 500 lbs? Don't you think that a person of that size may very well have an eating disorder? I don't know that they should be blindly be getting disability but maybe disability while receiving psychological evaluations, seeing a nutritionist and/or a trainer, and what ever else a doctor thinks will help.

As someone who is overweight, I can assure you with 100% certainty that no amount of money would make me want to gain any more. I know how tired and give out my weight makes me and can only imagine how someone of that size would feel. Add to it that at her size you would have the feeling of never being able to "join the crowd" and enjoy yourself at a function such as class reunions, cookouts, pool parties or at the beach. I am sure being that overweight has been a huge strain on her body and health and also on her mental health.

She doesn't sound like all that wonderful of a person. Why are so many jumping at the chance to help her out? Does she have an amazing personality that makes her the life of the party? She sounds like a downer and the kind that would complain constantly. I just don't see why people are going out of their way (unless it's to avoid her).

Not to defend her choices at all . . . but at this point in her life, she probably CAN'T WORK. You said she's never been able to drive. Without transportation, she probably has never had a job. I can't imagine public transportation works well for her. I'd be surprised if she had a degree (or any other training beyond high school). Would you jump at the chance to hire a person with no resume, no experience, no skills? Someone who's been sitting at home for X number of years doing nothing? At most she'd only be able to get something that'd be open to a teenager -- checking groceries or flipping burgers -- and that wouldn't come close to what she's getting on disability.

Again, I'm not defending her choices at all. I'm not being sympathetic -- just analytical. She's screwed up her own life, but I don't see the situation as particularly "fix-able" at this point. Oh, if she herself had motivation, or if she had family who were supportive and were going to help her . . . then she could do it . . . but if she had those things, she wouldn't have reached this point.

No, you're absolutely right. She is absolutely unmarketable.
