How many feel that with this new alleged injury we have seen the last of the unbeatable Mr. Woods?

Is it real or a smoke screen to take the attention off his other problems or perhaps his mediocre playing as of late?

Ya gotta wonder!

I think he's lost it. Whatever magic he had is not coming to the surface and he cannot mentally handle it. If you really look at the record he has been slipping for quite some time now. Even with his impressive 4 or 5 wins last year he beat mostly unknowns and was even soundly beaten by one of them.

Just so everyone knows...I hope I am wrong. He sure does bring excitement to the game.

I don't think so, 6 wins coming off major knee surgery is not something to sneeze at. We have a good friend that had a bulging disk in her neck and it is incredibly painful and a long recovery process. He will be back.

One can only hope so. You know, that kharma thing? Or sweet revenge, or whatever you choose to call it....

I think he came back too soon and thought all the negative press would go away. I think it is all still newsworthy as that article in Vanity Fair about his mistresses hit the stands and people criticized the ad with his dad. I dont think he has a physical injury like he says, I think he mentally cant play golf right now.

I don't really care. His behavior is between him and his wife. His golf game doesn't mean anything to me either. I don't understand why people keep talking about him.

I hope that if he can still play that he comes back and does so. I don't get all of this need for revenge at all. He was wrong but that's between him and his wife IMO.

Amen! The man is an AMAZING golfer and I wish him the best in his professional career. I don't give a darn about his personal life, that is between him and whoever he chooses as his SO.

I agree...and I am not talking about his personal life either. I am guessing that most of you have not heard that he withdrew from the Players Championship today because he was having severe pain in his neck. Withdrew right in the middle of the round (7th hole I believe).

His personal life be damned. That's his problem and although I originally felt sorry for his wife (who wouldn't) it appears that she is dragging this out forever, decision wise. Take him back or leave him, but make a decision. Either way she'll be set for life.

As almost every pro golfer has said, the game needs him. He said today that he's been playing through the pain and just couldn't do it any more. I sincerely hope he's back soon. His personal issues are just that--personal. I don't think people should hold sports heroes up as role models. They're human.

The PGA takes another hit. Without Woods they really have to get the rest of their players to make stories to keep people tuning in.

I never thought Tiger would be the same again after his knee surgery. IIRC when they went in to do the surgery they found far more damage than they had anticipated.

I think he's handled the personal stuff well, and I'll be glad when the gossip rags give up on such a non-story completely (since the main news outlets seem to have let it go).

I do worry, though, that after the whole knee thing, that he pushed this neck/back thing too far. It was very obvious last week and this weekend that something was off on his swing. Tiger Woods just doesn't miss as many fairways as he has the last 2 weeks.

I wish him the best and hope he is able to recover. He's had too many injuries now to say that the records are "in the bag," but I hope he is able to return and give us at least a few more thrilling shots and victories. Sundays in the PGA just aren't the same without him lurking around the leaderboard.

I hope so!
I'm so sick about hearing about him every day.

:rotfl:Agreed. Kharma always pulls through.

He's a great golfer but it's very difficult for me to respect him after the cheating fiasco.

There is absolutely no way that he is done with his career.

With everything going on, physical and mental, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a year before he got back to playing at the top. But there is no doubt he will get there and he will continue to win and break every golf record ever set in the next 10 to 20 years.
