The Empty Nesters Magical Mystery Tour *1/28* Link to New Girl's TR p141

Enjoyed reading about your food and wine experience. We want to go so bad, but I am not sure that will happen for a while as it is only during football season for me. The new Flower and Garden (...and food) festival may save us on that though and give us a small experience similar to food and wine.

Nice Night at EPCOT- It is very hard to get food and drink and then remember to take pictures while juggling it all. I get it. :goodvibes

It is wonderful strolling around WS taking it all in. So nice you had a DISmeet even if it was a short one.

The first couple of days of vacation are great when you know you have time to relax. Then as you creep towards the end the panic of what you hoped to get done but still have to do sets in and then it is always sad when it is all over.

EE first thing is nice - no lines and you scored the front seat. :thumbsup2

Totally forgot about Car Denny. You know I really need to stroll the Boardwalk at night and actually stop for the performers. I don't think I ever have. Looks like a great show with Kardennie.

I am sorry to say that I did not take any more beverage or food pictures after this. How do I know? Because I’m about 100% certain that I couldn’t have spent a whole evening at F&W and only had one glass of wine and one food tasting.

But if you had many glasses of wine, how can you be certain of anything?:confused3:rotfl2:

I love it and I always walk out of there wishing I could be an honorary Canadian and wanting to immediately plan a trip. Nova Scotia is still on my bucket list.

You can be an honorary Canadian, but you have to switch from the wine to beer and watch a lot more hockey.

I have always wanted to visit Vancouver and met a dentist from there while I was skiing at Mont Tremblant who offered to take me sailing, Hmmm - why didn’t I take him up on that offer. Oh yeah - I was dating Denny.

Oh, like that's an excuse. :rotfl:

He asked Denny his name and when Denny said “Denny” he thought we were messing with him and replied “No. That’s My Name”. I said, “No, that really IS his name”.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

But I do remember he solved the rubik’s cube in about three minutes. It was really amazing.

Oh, who hasn't done that? :rolleyes1

The sun was totally in the wrong position for this picture or my camera settings were way off or, perhaps, both.

You're shooting into the sun. That'll wash any picture out. Not much you can do in that case.

Up Next - Would I finally ride with the camera put away or could I not resist the call to take EE pictures?

No way that camera gets put away.:lmao:

So apparently you had several glasses of wine? :confused3 :lmao:

Since I have pictures from a stop in Morroco I have to take an educated guess and say I had the spicy hand roll. I could borrow a picture from Saintsticket’s TR, but take my word on this - the hand roll is delish!!!!!
How can I take your word that something is delish if you can't even remember eating it? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

In fact, after doing a little research I found that this particular line was actually called the “Blue Line” Coincidence? You decide!

My parents thought this was astounding, but, hey, that’s was 7 years do - remember things. Didn't seem so special at the time.
The more random the detail, the more likely to be remembered. :lmao:

Ahhhhh - It’s good to be a Canadian. Oh wait - I’m not! But for 18 minutes I can pretend that I am!
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

He asked Denny his name and when Denny said “Denny” he thought we were messing with him
You have a few drinks and all of a sudden, you're messing with the Boardwalk talent... :rolleyes1

Finally it was 09:00 and we made our way through the FP queue. As usual there was no one (or next to no one) in the front row queue, so we claimed our spot
Great way to start the day off!

One of these days, I'm going to go to Walt Disney World any stinking time of the year that I want and it's going to be at 1) Christmas; 2) Food & Wine and 3) Flower & Garden. I would love to be able to snack my way through the festivals.

Like your other readers, I found myself looking for hidden Mickeys in the food truck pictures. Didn't spot any but I'm betting that they are there.

I'm surprised that you got away with taking pictures in Monsters Inc. I'm always afraid that I'll get busted.

Up Next - Would I finally ride with the camera put away or could I not resist the call to take EE pictures?

I remember when you were too afraid to take your camera out on EE! My prediction is that you took pictures. (I don't think that I'm going out on a limb on that one.)

What a great day and evening you had with your family and Denny! :thumbsup2

Looks like your next day is starting off on a good note. I love riding a thrill ride to get my morning going. Although, I usually end up with a headache after riding EE, but it doesn't stop me from riding it!! Great way to wake up!!

Can't wait to see the pictures you take while riding EE. Who said that?!? :rolleyes1

Really enjoyed reading your TR. We are in a similar boat....taking an empty nest trip to WDW in a week. Our oldest son is recently married and out of the house. Our youngest is a Senior and football player for U of Delaware. we are looking for some nice, non-commando quiet time together.

Appreciate all the writing and photos. It really makes the wait bearable.

SOOO many great pictures, and yeah a few blurry ones too!

Kardenni :rotfl2: that is a riot!

You were up early running...it looks like it was still dark out. Bleh, that's too early for me if it's still dark.

Too funny that you also took a picture of the allergy cart menu and we posted them on the same day!

BOO for 24 hour shifts, I hope it goes by really fast and thanks for the mega update first!

Well...I sure hope that you took EE photos. Waiting for more...and glad you got an update when on a 24 hour shift. On our unit, few take 24 hour call...it can be great or slammed!!! Thankfully the longest they will let RN's work is16 hours. Hope you have time off and get another update done soon.

I enjoyed reading about the memories the O Canada movie brought up. I think it's great that you can associate happy memories with something at Disney. And it just goes to show why taking trips (no matter) can create memories that last a lifetime. Even things that don't seem important at the time, like forgotten sunglasses, can stick with you for years to come. :goodvibes

Good to know the magician on the Boarwalk was entertaining and pretty good. Alex loves magic shows, so maybe I'll have to get him over there one night. Storing that piece of information away for later....

First row on EE, the best seat to be in!:thumbsup2

Fun updates, MEK with terrific pictures as always.

I love O Canada and really enjoyed your memories of that ride. One of these days I'd like to visit Canada.

I am sure you had other things at F&W...I've never known you from previous reports to just sample one food item and definitely not one drink. ;)

I want to stop and see the acrobats our next trip...we have yet to stop and see them.

I'm with you...I LOVE Animal Kingdom. Great photopass photos when you arrived.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for your front row seat on EE (although I'd be taking the "exit" row). Hmmm...you not take pictures? I think NOT!

There are so many, many, many details in Animal Kingdom. One could take thousands of pictures in that park alone. You know my crew loves our AK time!

You are SO right about that. AK is almost a sensory overload of cool details. They are every where. I could spend hours taking pictures at AK. I just love that park and I KNOW you guys do too!

That's a fun little memory of the Boardwalk card guy. We're staying at Boardwalk the first three nights of our July trip, so I will be sure we get down there and see what the entertainment is on at least one of those nights.

You are going to LOVE the Boardwalk. Have you guys stayed there before? It's such a great resort and the fact that you can get instant entertainment on you way home is such a bonus. Kardenni is really a great performer!

F&W eats! My favorites kind!!!!!

Mine too! It's such an adventure and its impossible to taste everything I want to try.

An adult beverage that will make me happy in a short period of time is something that's right up my alley! :thumbsup2

Mine Too! Probably why I love the jalapeño margarita so much! :rotfl2: Happiness in a glass!

My F&W pictures end up being all crooked an blurry, due to the food to wine ratio. I have plenty of them....just not.....good. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: That's probably why I don't even bother anymore. I end up getting all wrapped up in my camera bag strap. It never ends well! :rotfl2:

KarDenni, Car Denny. Same difference. :rotfl2:

Too funny they had "almost" the same name! ::yes::

Nothing better than that feeling of waking up and feeling like you have your entire trip ahead of you!

It really is a great feeling and something that never happens with my shorter trips. I usually wake up sad because the trip is almost over before it even started. I hate that!

Enjoyed reading about your food and wine experience. We want to go so bad, but I am not sure that will happen for a while as it is only during football season for me. The new Flower and Garden (...and food) festival may save us on that though and give us a small experience similar to food and wine.

I think it will. We spent a little bit of time there a few weeks ago and it definitely had more of a F&W feel.

Don't feel bad about F&W. My kids played soccer for years - club soccer, middle school and high school soccer. We could never travel together during October. It was impossible. That's why this years trip was so great for us to experience a different side of Disney.

I've only seen O'Canada once and it was in 2008...i'm very overdue! And don't even remember any of those pictures you posted. How terrible am I?!

The more I go, the more I really enjoy Animal Kingdom. I used to visit because it was there and I felt that I needed to, but now i'm finding myself wanting to go. I'm actually listening to the Animal Kingdom music right now on D-Cot so your pics put me in an AK mood!

Nice Night at EPCOT- It is very hard to get food and drink and then remember to take pictures while juggling it all. I get it. :goodvibes

It really is. And in a way its annoying and I never really feel like taking the time to do it because its so awkward. Yet some DISers are great at it during f&w. I feel a little bad that I can't get more the program.

It is wonderful strolling around WS taking it all in. So nice you had a DISmeet even if it was a short one.

I was happy to see C and Brielle! It was a lot of fun to chat with them and I'm glad they had a great trip.

The first couple of days of vacation are great when you know you have time to relax. Then as you creep towards the end the panic of what you hoped to get done but still have to do sets in and then it is always sad when it is all over.

It really is sad. I hate when vacation ends. It helps so much that I always plan one or two vacations ahead. Before that I would be sad for weeks. :sad2:

EE first thing is nice - no lines and you scored the front seat. :thumbsup2

It's usually pretty easy to get front row because most people don't know about the queue. It's worth it to wait a couple extra trains to get the front row.

Totally forgot about Car Denny. You know I really need to stroll the Boardwalk at night and actually stop for the performers. I don't think I ever have. Looks like a great show with Kardennie.

Kardenni was really good. His magic was great, his personality was funny, and he just put on a very engaging show.

But if you had many glasses of wine, how can you be certain of anything?:confused3:rotfl2:

I can be certain of the fact that I had more than one glass of wine. Isn't that enough? ;)

You can be an honorary Canadian, but you have to switch from the wine to beer and watch a lot more hockey.

Beer - ok. Hockey - hmmmm - I'll have to think about that!

Oh, like that's an excuse. :rotfl:

It seemed like one of the time. Now I question it. :rolleyes1

It was pretty comical. We got a good laugh about it! :rotfl:

Oh, who hasn't done that? :rolleyes1

Yeah...maybe you're right! Bwahahaha!

You're shooting into the sun. That'll wash any picture out. Not much you can do in that case.

And it seemed that no matter which direction I turned the camera that morning I got too much sun. So annoying! Boo!

No way that camera gets put away.:lmao:

:rotfl: Ahhhh - you know me much too well!

So apparently you had several glasses of wine? :confused3 :lmao:

Perhaps. well, yeah - Probably! :rolleyes1

How can I take your word that something is delish if you can't even remember eating it? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I know I ate it. I just can't remember if it was that night or later in the trip. Pretty sure it was that night. So goooooooood!

Kind of cool, actually. I wonder if the reason I called the People Mover the Blue Line for so long is because somehow I remembered this from my childhood. Hey - it COULD happen!

The more random the detail, the more likely to be remembered. :lmao:

Good point!

You laugh - but I really do enjoy my 18 minutes of Canadian citizenship!

You have a few drinks and all of a sudden, you're messing with the Boardwalk talent... :rolleyes1

:lmao: Yeah - I guess we kind of did. I guarantee you that Denny never would have volunteered if he hadn't had the Happy Lychee. :rolleyes1

Great way to start the day off!

It was a fun morning, and go smoothly so far!

One of these days, I'm going to go to Walt Disney World any stinking time of the year that I want and it's going to be at 1) Christmas; 2) Food & Wine and 3) Flower & Garden. I would love to be able to snack my way through the festivals.

It WILL happen! I promise. It's so fun to go on a summer trip with the whole family and you are so lucky that Hunter likes to travel with you. But Nick definitely lost interest by his senior year so having him and Brian out of the house makes it so much more desirable to go during the cooler seasons. And it is really fun!

Like your other readers, I found myself looking for hidden Mickeys in the food truck pictures. Didn't spot any but I'm betting that they are there.

They probably are there and if you DO see any let me know because I am TERRIBLE at Hidden Mickeys.

I'm surprised that you got away with taking pictures in Monsters Inc. I'm always afraid that I'll get busted.

Hmmmm - I don't remember them saying no pictures or even no flash pictures for that matter. Of course, you know I sort of conceal my camera and take quick non-flash pics. But I don't think I broke any rules. Although I can't swear I didn't. :rolleyes1

I remember when you were too afraid to take your camera out on EE! My prediction is that you took pictures. (I don't think that I'm going out on a limb on that one.)

I DO remember that! So - yeah - I think your prediction may come true.

I finally got brave enough to take my camera out on ToT. I still have to upload those pics to see what I got. ;)

I adore that first picture in the update of the Chinese temple! Gorgeous!

Whatever those lion statues are, I WANT THEM!!!

Love O' Canada! It has always been an enjoyable movie, but the addition of Martin Short really put it over the top.

Ohhhh the F&W eats look good! I'm so excited that we're going to be there for F&W this year!
Mary Ellen, come to Nova Scotia and I promise to show you some of my favourite parts! Cape Breton has some truly amazing scenery ;)
I love O Canada too. It makes me really home sick though! I'm a big fan of Martin Short as the narrator of my country. :rotfl2:

Ahhhhh - It’s good to be a Canadian. Oh wait - I’m not! But for 18 minutes I can pretend that I am!

We can honourarily adopt you! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

If you say them out loud, there's no difference between Car Denny and Kardenni! :rotfl:
The magic show looks really cool! I'd like to run across that some day!

Great AK Photopass pics!
The theming in AK is so wonderful, I love it all.

The sun was totally in the wrong position for this picture or my camera settings were way off or, perhaps, both.

I'm going with the sun was working against you. Backlighting is the worse!

I know I'm in a minority, but I MUCH prefer back row on EE to front row! It's faster!

Since I have pictures from a stop in Morroco I have to take an educated guess and say I had the spicy hand roll. I could borrow a picture from Saintsticket’s TR, but take my word on this - the hand roll is delish!!!!!
Feel free to borrow anything you wish, dear lady! ;) And yes, the spicy hand roll was fantastic!!
