The elusive pin codes

Hi all,

I, like many out there, haven't had much luck nabbing a pin code. My question is, should I go ahead and book a room now (we're looking at the beginning of Dec. 2010) to ensure I get what I want, and maybe cancel/rebook if a deal comes along, or do I hold out and just wait for a deal or pin code to come my way? My first experience staying in a resort was this past May (loved it!), so I don't really know how quickly reservations book up.

Thanks!

Aimee

^^^ Hi Aimee! :wave2: Your best bet is to go ahead and book now. That way you will already have the reservation and you won't run into the problem of the resort filling up on the dates you want to be there. If you happen to be the lucky recipient of a PIN code or another promotion/discount is announced, you can always call Disney. They will apply the discount to your already existing reservation. :thumbsup2

Yes, they will apply it to your existing reservation if the room type you booked is available. We are currently having a problem with this. We have a woods view with a code discount currently but the regular room is not available for any type at WL except the higher priced rooms with the AP discount for when we are visiting in early Feb. We are checking daily since the regular room with the 45 % off (ap discount ) will save us about 25/night for each room, we have 2 booked.

I would book now though, you never know. YOur room type may have the discount once they post them and you will luck out. IN the past we have been 'lucky' in getting what we want!!

Thanks everyone! My first guess was that I should book now. I didn't realize I could call in and apply a pin code after the fact, if I'm lucky enough to receive one!

I was holding out also waiting for a pin code or something for
Oct. 2010 and kept saving Vaca Offer on Disney Destinations.
Without a pin code coming after 3 months of trying everythin, I finally decided I better book so I went back to my saved offers, which hadn't
expired yet and the room type that I wanted was no longer available.
I went ahead and booked the next level up, just to have something
and hoping that a discount will come out. Remember when you book
to make sure the insurance is not added into your deposit (you can add it later) because you will lose it after 14 days if you don't cancel before then.
You can't get the insurance back. Hope you have a wonderful trip and I hope
everyone gets a discount.
