Actually the view of the tower is better from a distance. It is mounted on top of a building so you will never see the base of it.
DH and I noticed that during our last trip. I was really surprised they didn't make it more of a focal point in the France Pavilion. It's in the distance on top of a building. Really weird and poor planning in my opinion. I wish they would have made it bigger and even put an elevator going to the top to look out at World Showcase or even a restaurant at the top. That would have been a great addition to the France Pavilion.

The only problem with that would be that in order for it to have an elevator, it would have to be a HUGE tower that would likely overshadow the entire rest of World Showcase.DH and I noticed that during our last trip. Besides the birds are too busy tring to eat the turkey leg you just bought to think about sitting on the Eiffel tower!
but wouldn't THAT be a cool photo - a bird sitting on the eiffel tower!!![]()
I didn't mean a real life-size replica of the Eiffel Tower. I've been to the "real" Eiffel Tower in Paris numerous times and it is quite large. I just felt it was kind of hokey to put it way on top of a building and not to make it "part" of the France Pavilion. Mexico has a Mayan Pyramid which is quite large but does NOT overshadow any other Pavilion. Same with the Pagoda in Japan and St. Mark's Campanile in Italy.
The Imagineers seemed to take great care in creating World Showcase. I am sure there IS a reason for this oversight (logistics, cost, etc . . .).
