The DVCers from N. Texas had a great time last night. I think everyone thought it was well worth it.
For those not in the know , here is a catch up. Several of us DIS DVCers had started noticing many in the Dallas Ft Worth area. We PMed a few times and the idea was born to get everyone together and have a party. We did. Sounds like a good deal at first and then as it gets closer you get many thoughts.
My thoughts were "there are 55 people coming to a party I'm throwing and I don't know any of them!" I know many of the participants had the same apprehensions. Spouses of the DIS board people pretty much thought we were nuts.
You know what, it worked out! The adults all got along, the kids had a blast playing together, and the food and refreshments all worked out great! We found the DVC folks to be very nice as you would expect and really talented. Some of the scrapbooks that were brought were just outstanding! Slimplaw, rtwhite, and the Lintons had just incredible albums. It was inspiring.
We learned about dessert cruises, character breakfasts, and great restaurants. I think everybody had access to new information. I also believe each property was represented.
Special thanks to Judy Kaufman, DVC Guide who contributed to make this really special and the Disney Store in Hurst, TX who provided a lot of decor.
Now there were a couple of lurkers and a few non DVC members who were also great. What are you guys waiting for? BonJ this opportunity is calling your name! I hope Chelsea, Melissa and Ronnis give it consideration too!
Well I just wanted all to know you should try one of these in your area. It really is worth the effort to meet people like these N. Texas DVCers!
