I don't normally vent here, but.....
About 6 weeks ago I moved into a new house. During the final walk thru the driveway was covered in plastic so I could not drive on it.
After closing when I went up the driveway I discovered that my car bottoms out going up and down the driveway. I called the builder and "they began to work on it" (VERY SLOWLY!) Numerous calls have been made by both me and my agent and so far NO results.
Last night when I got home from a trip, I found my car covered in glass. The parking lot light had burst all over my car. While I waited on security and maintenace I noticed that the left rear skirt was coming off the car. There is NO other damage and I believe that this was caused by the driveway issue. This morning I called and threatened a lawsuit, my agent called her contacts and explained that I now have damage, my year old Saab convertible is sitting in a street (where it will probably be hit by construction workers!) and we are UNHAPPY! Basically, since I now consider the driveway and by default, the garage, unusable I am claiming that I have suffered a financial loss.
The builder and his boss are "suppose" to be here tomorrow to look at this and let me know what the decsion is.
So does anyone think I really have grounds for a lawsuit. I want a working driveway and car repair! (Saab's are really expensive to fix!)
