Thanks for the :thumbsup2 on eating made to order stuff at the food courts - will definitely be following that advice. Looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews :)

I'm really looking forward to reading more of your reviews!!! And you have great photos too.

Great idea to make an omelet sandwich at the food court! :)

My daughter had the buffalo loin steak at AP and liked it.... I tasted it and thought it was meh...I wouldn't order it either. The gratin potatoes looked good, too bad they were not as great as they look.

Usually I just lurk on a lot Of your food reviews because I always late to the party - this time I'm here early, so Hi! I'm really lOoking forward to more! Appreciated your AP review, I've been wanting to try it, but next 2 trips are with kids sans Disney resistant DH, so may have to wait a while

Looking forward to the rest of your reviews!!!

Thank you...more coming soon!

They were both good but I enjoyed one more than the other. I'll share more on that when I get to them. ;)

I hope you get a chance to try AP in the not TOO distant future. :)

Foodcourt breakfast! Tell me about it! :lmao:

I am so with you on the "Bounty Platter". Tried it ......... :sad2: no thanks!
But if they have to make something fresh it is quite good - we had waffles at the Pop foodcourt and they were pretty good! :thumbsup2
Never tried an omlette, but I have made a note that it is something to seriously consider at the food court! :goodvibes

What did you have at AP? Did you like it?

In response to your question: I had the pork loin something or another....it wasn't that great. What was even worse was the bland, no flavor barley side dish.... I would order anything but that again!

Anyway....looking forward to more of your review! :)

Great start! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews. :thumbsup2

subbing! So sad you didn't have a great meal at AP- that was my last signature restaurant to try, and I really felt like I saved the best for last- that salmon is TDF, I hope you go back and try it (and the mussels...OMG, they are amazing!!!).

After our breakfast in the ASMu food court, we headed over to Epcot. We spent the morning in FW before heading over to the WS for some imbibing at La Cava del Tequila, a charming little tequila bar tucked in to the Mexico pavilion.

We had gone on our last trip and loved the place. This time would be even better because we had a mini DIS Meet with a lady I met on a thread from the community board, Robin.

Mark and I went a bit early and were able to snag a table, which is sometimes quite difficult to do since La Cava has such limited seating.

In La Cava, you seat yourself and a server will come to you. We didn't have to wait long before friendly little Maria greeted us.

I had been thinking about what kind of margarita I wanted to have well before our trip. La Cava (or 'The Ditch' as it's sometimes known), has amazing specialty margaritas. They are really creative and interesting - like the one I had last year, the Pepino - El Mayor Blanco Tequila, Triple Sec liquor, caramelized pineapple juice, cucumber and agave nectar syrup, served on the rocks with a cactus-lemongrass salt rim.

For this visit, I went with the featured special, a Pomegranate Margarita - El Mayor Blanco Tequila, pomegranate liquor, pineapple juice, lime juice, and agave nectar served on the rocks with a Hibiscus Himalayan salt rim.

This was a great margarita but it was just too sweet for me that day. I guess for some reason I wasn't expecting it to be so sweet, but it was. I still liked it and drank the whole thing (couldn't let good tequila go to waste now could I?), but I would not order it again. Next time I think I'll go with the Blood Orange.

While I had my margarita, Mark drank a Patron Café, a tequila-based coffee liquor, which I seemed to have missed getting a photo of. I don't like to drink straight liquor, but this smelled amazing and Mark enjoyed it.

The appetizers in La Cava are quite good as well, so since it was lunch time, I had an order of Tostadas de Jaiba - seasoned blue crab meat tostadas, with chipotle mayo and Valentina sauce.

These were very good. There was lots of real crab meat and it tasted great with the spicy sauces. I think I prefer the chicken version though (Tostadas De Tinga - roasted tomato and chipotle pulled chicken tostadas, with avocado, black refried beans, Valentina sauce, topped with queso fresco and sour cream).

While I was eating my tostadas, Mark finished his drink and decided to go for a shot of tequila. He asked Maria for a Patron Silver, but she suggested he try something more unique and recommended the Partida Blanco tequila instead. Mark wisely took her advice and had a shot of it:

The shots at The Ditch are served in the authentic Mexican style with sangrita, a spicy juice chaser. Mark liked the Partida a lot and agreed with Maria, it was better than Patron Silver.

Another lovely visit to La Cava! I highly recommend stopping in if you can can find a seat. It's a nice rest in the AC with great drinks and food!

Grade: A

Ooh just caught up with your wonderful reviews

We have an ADR at AP for our next trip but I have already decided I want the Salmon

I can't wait to try La Cava for the fist time

Looking forward to reading more

Great reviews so far! Your tostadas at La Cava look great! And I agree with you, I would have been disappointed if that Pomegranate Margarita was too sweet...when I was reading the description it didn't sound like it would be! Can't wait to read more :goodvibes

I love that ditch!! Best attraction in WDW!! :thumbsup2 FWIW, the blood orange rita is another very sweet one- ask the bartender, sometimes they will give you a little sample if they are making it for someone else, so you can try before you buy. :goodvibes The jalepeno, cucumber, habanero, and avocado are the savory ones, I think.
