The Dreaded Question: To Drive or To Fly

When we lived in Maryland we started out driving for our Disney trips. After a horrendous drive home on one trip, we said ENOUGH. And we started flying and renting a minivan down there. It was MUUUUUUUCH better!!!!

Now we live closer and the drive is way easier, so we always drive.

If I were you, I'd fly!

IF you can afford it
IF you want a relaxing. more rested arrival
IF you do not want to "lose days" of vacation

FLY!

I priced out autotrain for 3 of us, myself and my two kids, and our minivan, one way was almost $600. Granted, that would mean saving on a rental car, but it is 17 hours travel time the website said.

Since I can frequently get under $100 each way on southwest from here, and it's a two hour flight, I would probably not do autotrain. But, I am glad it's always there as an option and I looked into it.

If I drive to Naples next summer, I may look into it to go home, just to save from driving both ways. If we go for two weeks, I'd rather have my own minivan (with the built in GPS and DVD player). Plus, you can hook up gamecube and xbox to the dvd player.
