Well as the title says we are a bit unsure who is actually going on this trip :rotfl:

We booked several months ago to go to Newport Bay from 31st July until 5th Aug

We being the usual:

DH
Myself
DD - Charys - 9

Although we have dream APs it was cheaper to book it as a package because of the 40% off
which meant we would end up with 3 passes we didnt need.

As time went by I started to get annoyed about this - DLP didnt seem to care about their AP holders anymore - they had changed the sponsorship system giving us virtually no chance to renew our passes for free so decided we might as well try and use the spare passes we had.

Enter 2 new additions to the trip

DS - Joel - 23 (came with us last Easter)
Joels girlfriend Steph (been once before soon after the park first opened)

Steph is an MSC student and Joel has been doing voluntary work tis year after graduating last June so we thought why not treat them to the passes.
We decided if we drove and went by Eurotunnel it wouldnt cost anything to get there, they could have our passes and we would feed them so all they needed to do was find cheap accomodation in the area. We pointed them in the right direction of the Premier Classe hotel in Bussy St George, spent an evening discussing the trip - Steph was getting really excited about it and was planning that we all buy different ears and rotate them every day and wanted to do every thing and be there for the crack of dawn much to Joels disgust.

We left for a 2 week holiday in France and while we were there got an Email from Joel saying they had booked the hotel so it seemed as though they would be joining us.

However while we were in France they left for Africa to do some MSC research and Emailed us last week to say Steph might not be able to come as she is so bogged down with trying to get her project finished.

We Emailed Joel to see if he was still coming even if she didnt and he said he might but would share our room - after his last trip with us he said he'd never do that again as someone (:rolleyes1) was snoring. However he says he now has ear plugs so it will be OK.

We phoned Disney to see how much it would cost to add him to our room as an extra adult with no park ticket and were told its much cheaper (£90) to add him as part of the package. So we will still have the tickets we dont need.

So as things stand we still dont know if he is definitely coming with us or if Steph will decide she can come after all so we cant add him to the room.

They are not home from Africa until 24th and we go on 31st.

We will also either need to stay in Ashford the night before or in Cambridge where Joel lives as if hes coming we need to go via there to collect him.

We cant book meal vouchers either as we dont know how many for so the whole trip is a bit of an uncertainty at the moment :rotfl:

Oh no! I hope you find out soon:thumbsup2 Hopefully she will get it finished and then you can all go! :goodvibes

We have booked the Steakhouse Brunch today for the Sunday as we decided that might get busy and we only have the one day to do it

We are also considering Agrabah, Restaurant des Stars, Cafe Mickey and Blue Lagoon.

I love the Restaurant des Stars ate there for the 1st time on our last trip & agreed it was the best meal of the trip.

Well things are a bit clearer at last.

Joel arrived back in this country yesterday and we've managed to speak to him so things are a bit clearer.

He is coming with us to DLP and staying with us at Newport Bay but Steph is unable to come

We have booked the Travel Lodge in Ashford for Th evening. Im finishing work at lunchtime so we will drive to Cambridge sometime in the afternoon to collect Joel then drive to Ashford.

The tunnel is booked for 10.00ish but if we are up and ready we may try and get an earlier one but wont rush to do it

I need this trip to be a relaxing one so wont be rushing to try and do everything while we are there. My arm is still very painful so I need to try and avoid getting it bumped (not going to be easy) and I think swimming may be out of the question which is a shame as I like the summer season for lazy afternoons back at the hotel.

So far the only meal booked is the Steakhouse Sunday brunch and we are considering doing a Cafe Mickey breakfast (instead of lunch or dinner) so may book and pay for this before we go.

excellent that u finally know whos going - and yaaaaaaaaaaaay for 1 meal booked!!!

i do hope ur arm is def a bit better by the time u go so it wont be such a worry for u, and that maybe ull get a bit of swimming - swimming is sposed to be good therapy....:)

Thank you Nikki - I like you :rotfl: Hes not my eldest either.:rolleyes1

Well plans have changed again slightly

We have phoned to add Joel and been told to add him now will cost £90 and will have to include tickets or we can add him when we get there for a few Euros- local tax without tickets. No prizes for guessing which we opted for.

We were unsure if we'd been given the right info about this so phoned again today to double check and were told this was correct.

We then also saw the thread about the new benefits for Admiral Floor rooms and so enquired about the cost to upgrade and were told it would only be £111 and we would still be able to add Joel when we arrive.

I hope all this info is correct :rotfl:

It also means though that we will have to rethink how we spend the days. We dont plan as such (I like to go with the flow) but we usually dont bother too much with breakfast (well DH does but the rest of us dont) unless we can get a GMF breakfast later, go into the park for EMH, have a main meal mid afternoon returning to the hotel for a rest /swim at some point and then enjoy the rides while everyone else is eating in the evening.

However if we are now going to get a cooked breakfast and cakes in the afternoon we need to work out how we can fit in other food as well

Woah, upgrading!! Good for you. Hope you have a fantastic time - shame I can't meet up for another cocktail in the DLH. ;)

Wow sounds v exciting esp with the upgrade!!! Hope you have a fab time Small World :)

Have a fabulous trip SmallWorld, looked out for you yesterday but didn't spot you amongst the crowds, very envious that you are there and we are back home with all the rain!
