oh man, everyone is leaving and I can stay up late tonight!!! Both girls have dr check ups tomorrow morning so we aren't going to school until they are done..... KIm, Jay.....Elaine.....you gonna stay and play a bit? Or do I get the last word of the night? hehehehe!

Uh oh. I'm in trouble.

Well, I'm a sub, but I'm not a teacher. I'm basically just a willing Mom that has been filling in as needed for the last 3 or 4 years. My longest job was three weeks in the 2nd grade. I get called in for grades Pre-K-8th. I'm most definitely not in the same category as you are Betty... Basically, I'm just a student sitter.

I'm still here Jennifer! It's still nice and early here. Besides, I put a roast in the oven a little late tonight. I have to hang around till it's done now. I put it in so late, we ended up having cereal for dinner. LOL

Kim, I really have them fooled at school. I am not a teacher by degree. In Ohio, you can have a four year degree and get a temporary teaching certificate for subbing. They did not realize until this past summer that I was a fraud. The principal called me to offer me a one year teaching position for special education. They wanted to rush through a temporary special education certificate. I told them that I didn't think that they could do that because I already had a temporary one. They tried but human resources said no. I was very flattered by the offer. But they can offer me teaching in a regular classroom, thus the maternity leave subbing position.

As far as cereal goes, what kind do you serve at your house. DD just had a bowl because she was still hungry. I believe it was fruity pebbles.

hey, Yensid my 30 minutes are about up and I need to be at school by 7:00. How about those aches and pains. Shoot, just skip the aches and pains and get to the pain killers.

Technically I knew "zzzzz" isn't a word, but knew someone had it in them to say it. I knew one of you would do it, it was just a matter of time.

Ah, my aches and pains. Where or where should I begin. How about the biggest. A year ago last Aug, I had a 2 level spinal fusion for 2 bad discs in my back. Had leg pain, stiffness, you name it. Couldn't stand for more than about 15 min or so. Couldn't sit long either. Lived on painkillers, so I know what you're talking about. They put in 6 screws & did the bone fusion. I still have tightness & aches, but I'm a TON better than before.

Let's see, there's also that corneal ulcer thing. Doesn't bother me now, but nearly had partial vision loss b/c of it. Got *REALLY* lucky there.

Then there's the knee thing that kicked in a couple years ago. Not sure why or how, but it bugs me sometimes.

Should I go on or is this good enough to get into the "Aches, Pain & Aged Club"?

Know how back surgery goes. I had herniated disks at L4 and L5. Got up one morning and couldn't get out of bed. Leg was numb and percocet(spelling) didn't even touch the pain. I felt relief immediately after surgery. As for the others, well, you have me beat.

Of course us women do go through child birth. Believe me we don't want to go there.

As for more information about Kim. You must dish.

You seem to be full of so much information. I am impressed but you must talk quickly. Bedtime is coming soon.

Betty, Well, I must say... I'm still pretty impressed! Maybe even more so! You're not a "real" teacher yet they are obviously very happy with your work!! THAT is awesome!! My greatest compliment came when the 7th/8th gr. girls (the class is all girls) went to their teacher after I'd subbed, and said that they didn't want anyone but me subbing for her. That was nice to hear.

As far as cereals go, we're a sugar free type of cereal family. I always buy the plain cheerios or the corn flakes or whatever. Tom accidentally came home with honeynut cheerios one time. Gag. I couldn't even get them down. I guess we're just not used to the sugary types.

Yes Betty, you must be really good at your job!!! And having done some subbing in a former life (I actually have a teaching degree, but don't use it now. How ironic is that!!!) it is not an easy job to be really good at. And you have Administrators trying to bend rules to get you in? Wanna come teach in my daughers class? (one of her teachers is going to be out for mat. leave soon.)

I know about that disc thing. Had degenerative, herniated discs at L4-L5 & L5-S1. Had a series of epidural steriod injections & one time it didn't go well. Had a spinal tap by accident. They did the blood patch, but that didn't hold. It was over a weekend, so I spent a couple days with the worst headache you could imagine. Stick your head in a vise & squeeze. Then get a sledgehammer. Or two. That's a good start. But I digress.... Worst thing was while at Epcot in 2000, I got up to get off JIYI & a nerve pinched. I couldn't move. Extreme pain.... Got those a number of times. Not fun.... I was up to 4 extra strength vicodin a day. Not good.....

I may just let everyone think about Kinky Kama for a while. Just use your imagination.

A pinched nerve behind my shoulder blade is what I'm treating now. NOT FUN!! Dr. says it could take 2 weeks for the muscle that's inflammed to heal and take the pressure off the nerve. No where near your pain, but it wears me out.

Well, I never made it to the dictionary, but now I'm a little sleepy. I'll do my research tomorrow.

LOL... King of pain.... Funny.... It's times like this that you don't look for titles, but you get them anyway. If you really want to hear pain, remind me to tell you about the discogram I hd done (a test prior to surgery). Sheesh... I had that pain for all those years & I'm just now seeing how bad it was. Kind of eye opening in a way.

And I'm shooting for the last word for a while longer. Kinky Kama may get it, but I'm still gonna try!
