so if you are a party of 4 and tip in cash you can leave whatever amount you deem appropriate?
Do they give you a receipt when you tip in cash?
What prevents them from charging your room card after you tip in cash?

Do the same as you would do in the real world, cross it out or write "cash" on the tip line.

This is exactly right. Cross out or write cash on the tip line, and then write the total to be charged on the Total line.

Writing CASH is a good idea, I had not thought of that, I guess if we used credit cards I would have known. Thanks for the tip!

I tend to write "table". No idea where I got that.

Table works until the server tries to leave the restaurant with the table at the end of the night. ;) :lmao:

(In case the winky guy isn't enough indication ((because you don't know me that well)) I am indeed just kidding and having fun. I couldn't resist taking a literal interpretation to it.)

Heck, they could take the table home AFAIC. :)

Hello, I have a question
When tipping with a gift card....how does that work???

Thanks

To tip with a gift card, just write in the amount you are tipping on the tip line. Give the card to your server, along with whichever form of payment you are using for the rest of the meal. Let them know to deduct $X.XX from the gift card, and $X.XX from the other form of payment.

Just spoke with Disney Tours. The price of the Illuminations Cruise is currently $319.50 including tax ....

8/13 spoke with 407-WDW-PLAY today to book our Illuminations Cruise and this CM said the cost does NOT include tip, whereas the previous CM said it did. So we will plan for a tip.

Just wondering how people figure out in advance what the 18% tip on a meal will be?
We are on the DDP with more than 6 people so we will have to pay the 18%
But I want to budget for it and have it set aside for each of our reservations.
I will have 3 adults and 1 child from my side.
I think the meal at Crystal Palace for a child is $13.99 and the adults are $28.99. Can I safely add 18% to those meal prices and set it aside in cash?

you have to figure out by the menus what you may eat. I just picked the most expensive thing and then times by 7 (the amount of people in my group) so for example we will keep it simple if the most expensive meal is $10.00 you X's it by 7 = $70.00. You times that by .18 and it will give you the tip amount of 12.60

I just set the amount in an envelope ahead of leaving on our trip and then I don't have to worry about it when we are there.

I'll be Leaving for my trip to te world in 12 days, with a total of 12 people. I made ADR's for each day were there (free dining) and When i made the ADR's I was told that we would not be seated all together.

so do we still get the 18% gratuaty automatically added even if were not All sitting together?

If you are seated together, yes, the mandatory service charge is assessed (and yes, despite the standard disclaimer, it's possible the restaurant will be able to combine tables to accommodate your entire party).
If you are seated separately but at two tables of six, ditto.
If you are seated at three or more separate tables (so, fewer than six diners at each table) but all have the same server, yes, you will be assessed the 18% service charge.
If you are seated at three or more separate tables and each table has a different server, no, you get to determine the tip percentage yourselves.

We will be in WDW next week on the FD. There are 12 of us and all on FD. Question is I know that how there is an automatic 18% tip, but how can we divided it so each of use can charge our share on our KTTW card. Example if tip is $30 can each of us put $10 on our KTTW card?
