Do you guys have a Disney Store near you?

We have one here in Plymouth, but we don't visit as often as we used to. It seem's to be great for kids with loads of Princess and Hero's stuff. But the adult things are mainly Winnie the Pooh, I do like Pooh but I wish they had some Mickey and Minnie stuff too.

What do you think of the Disney Store these day's?

It's not been too good for the past few years, although (apart from the mass of Power Rangers stuff) it does seem to be improving. You're right about Pooh I find it very irritating that the men and kids stuff have Mickey but not the ladies.

I last went to WDW in 2002 and stayed at All Star Sports. The gift shop in the hotel was tons better than the Kingston Disney Store.

But there have been a lot of Mickey T-shirts in other shops e.g. M&S.

M&S have TONS of Disney stuff at the moment - I have gone in a few times for a sandwich and come out with several Tinkerbell garments (not for me I hasten to add!)

I hate to say it but M&S also have some cool Mickey T-shirts for adults that make TDS ones look very sad.

We have not got a Disney Store very close - we are halfway between the Plymouth & Bristol / Cribbs Causeway ones.

I have to say, I get very excited when I go to one (as this is a bit of an event as none are very close)...but inevitably I am a bit disappointed. There is always a lot of W the P and whatever the latest "new" film is (and PowerRangers - yuck!).

Personally I would like more of the traditional Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie etc). It is rare though that I leave without spending something!!

Great thread!

Spoilt for choice here. Disney store in each of the big malls (Lakeside & Bluewater). The next town to us (Romford) has one too, plus of course we are only 20 mins on the train to all the London ones.

The Lakeside one is very popular and sells out of the limited globes etc very fast. In contrast the Romford one is wonderful as it always has good stocks of everything. Fabbo in the sales...spent tons in there last week!! The Bluewater one is very small and you cant get a buggy round very easliy....my least favourite. The biggest one is the one on Oxford St nr Selfridges. Two floors of Disney heaven and they have stuff that the local stores dont carry. There is another near Hamleys on Regent St, but thats a bit smaller. Always worth a pilgramage if you are in town girls!!

The only one we have here is in Belfast, although any time we make a trip to Scotland then Glasgow and Edinburgh both get a visit!! The Belfast store is pretty typical of all the smaller stores, you could fit it into DTD Christmas store about 3 times over!! We took DD there on Thursday to buy her a Minnie Mouse trolley case and guess what? Yep! They didn't have any! Buzz Lightyear was the only one they had in stock at the start of the holiday season and only 3 of them at that!! Needless to say we were all a little bit 'disappointed', so we'll have to wait until new stock comes in, whenever that is! Couldn't even find one online at any of the Disney Store websites. :( :( :( :(

Note; no jester smiley this time!

We have one in the trafford centre which has tons of stuff cramed in to a really tiny space, i say tons of stuff but its all for the kids:Pinkbounc It only does a very small selection of winnie the pooh for adults like slippers and night wear. The staff in there are really rude too.

I'm really looking forward to getting over there and going in the really big disney store:Pinkbounc

I have to agree with Allie5 I think that the Romford DS is better than the one at Lakeside, and after visiting Bluewater on Friday I think that it is now better than there. Although they did have some sale things at 75% off, I got a great Winnie the Pooh Apron and t towel set for £3.69 - originally £15.00 and also a Pooh playset from £12 to £2.99, but they hardly had any kids or adults clothes!

On another note, what happened to the Warner Bros. store at Bluewaters, went 2/3 weeks ago and it was there all closed up now!

Yeah the one in the Trafford Centre has also gone too:confused:

Our nearest one is in Cardiff, very rarely go to Cardiff for shopping........ nights out yes but shopping nope.

Took DD to London to see Lion King a few weeks ago and she went to the one in Convent Garden, very small but she managed to find loads to buy. All in the sale.

Our nearest DS is also Cardiff, so I don't get there very often.

Whenever we're visiting anywhere with a DS I have to take a look, but lately I've been very disappointed with the stock - lots of dressing up things for tinies, but not much at all for us big kids. I used to like the 'accessories' such as notebooks, desk-tidies, pens, etc. for adults, but they don't seem to have them in the stores I visit now :(

Bah! I work not far from the Disney Store (used to be 2 actually before they shut the Regent Street one down) and used to go there all the time - but not now. I think I've only been in one maybe 2 or 3 times in the last year...there's just nothing good in there anymore - such a shame, they are really not what they used to be :(

snookhams,i was also at bluewater on friday and was shocked to see warner bros shut,my son loves that store we always had to let him have a browse in there
maybe we passed each other along the way;) you can't miss us my dh and ds have a habit of always walking behind me telling me they are just following the leader:p

I must say that we went to Peterborough a couple of weeks ago and there was a huge sale on:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
i didn't know where to look first i got some real bargains,a couple of tennis dresses each for my 2 dd's hats, sunglasses, socks, underware all half price of less:) :)

They also had other things in the sale. Bags,umbrella's,toys,books,notepads,desk-tidies,birthday cards wrapping paper..........

They also had a new line of Adult T-shirts with Minnie,Mickey,Tink,Miss Piggy,Animal........there was a sweet white vest top with pale pink minnie silhouette heads all over it.

My DH and DD also popped in on sunday on there way to a concert and picked up a couple of Pin Traiding starter kits with lanyard and 4 pins Pooh,Piglet,Tigger and Eeyore for £6.49:teeth:
they are also really sweet.

There are 3 stores near to me. The Romford store is really nice always has loads of nice stuff in there. The one in Lakeside I just feel is really tacky and horrible, things just seem very cheap but expensive if you get what i mean hehe. The one in Bluewater me and my friends just bypassed as they didn't want to go in, miserable swines hehe. Best ones I have been into have been one in the Aventura mall in miami, and they used to have a really nice one in Orlando airport, not sure if it is still there as we always go into Sanford now, urgh

I live very near a Disney Store Outlet. They carry the stuff that doesn't sell from the catalog. It's hit or miss. It's pretty good during sale time at the catalog (right now). If you find yourself in the Washington DC area, it's at Potomac Mills. It's right off I-95, south of DC (it has it's own exit). I believe there is one at Hilton Head as well.
