The Disney Store $10 DVD sale

I caught their $10 DVD and video sale in October. I am wondering if this was the first time that they put these on sale for $10? If not, Do you remember the other time they were on sale for $10?

I asked a CM at my Disney Store and she told me that was the first time they did that. But I am sure that I read a post here that they were on sale another time too. Thanks for your help!

I just happen to have my TDS receipt when I bought the DVD for $10. I bought them on 10/19/02. This was the 2nd time for the $10 sale. I had missed the 1st one.

However when I talked to the sales person, she had said that this was their 1st time for the $10 sale. They did not participate during the 1st time because their district manager decided against it.

I believe it was just a 4 week difference between the 2 sales.

There have been 2 $10 video and DVD sales, and both were last fall. Don't know if they will ever do it again.

I bought some both rounds.
The first one, IF what I heard through the rumor mill is correct, was to boost their fiscal year to meet their goal. (Their fiscal year ends in the Fall.)
The sale was pulled mid afternoon because they met their goal faster than anticipated due to the sale.
IMHO the second sale came from them getting so much flack over how the first sale was handled.
It certainly did help clear our the DVD/VHS stock from what I read and saw. Everyone was buying LOTS of them.
It would be nice to see it again. I am sure we will eventually.

Well, it certainly did boost sales....my two local stores were almost sold out of all the dvds by the time I got there. I did get 4 though. My favorite promo with dvds was pre ordering snow white and getting another free!!! I got gifts galore, plus dvds for us. I think that may have been to make people switch their Disney VHS collection to DVD. Worked for me!
