Wow....my DD just arrived in Hamburg last night and I told her the Dream was there....but you said it was leaving last night??? Darn....I wanted her to go take some pics for me!!! Thanks for taking them as it seems the ship won't be there!!!

Yes, she is already back in the Skagerrak on further trials.

But she should be in Bremerhaven in 2 days for the final outfitting and then be handed over to DCL.

Oh well...she is only in Germany until thursday and then heading to Egypt for a week and then back to Germany (Mannheim) for a bit....too far to go take a peek at the ship!!!

Thank you so very much for sharing all those wonderful photos of the Dream. I was wondering where she was this morning as I sit here hoping that I get to cruise on her in May if all goes well with my dad's next surgery in the spring. It is pretty cold here in Tennessee this morning, as well. I love Hamburg, as well. Haven't been there since my dad was in the service a long, long time ago: but it still a beautiful city I would love to go back and visit.

Thank you! I do hope that all will be well with your father's surgery and that you will get to go on the Dream! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, and I will think of you in May because that is when I myself will be back on the Magic.

Is that frost/snow on the tops of the Dream's lifeboats?

Hmm, I don't really know . Could be - there was not a lot of snow on the ground, but it had been snowing lightly though consistently for days so that might well be snow there. Sorry for being such a bad observer!

When I saw the first pictures of her in Hamburg I was thinking exactly the same as you about the Aqua Duck!!

And btw the youth hostel you passed is actually really quite nice. I stayed there a few years ago for a youth conference.

No, we contemplated going on a harbour cruise but then didn't, because after all that only took you about ten metres closer to the Dream, instead of standing on the pier we would have been next to it on the harbour cruise boat. They can't get any closer to the dock by going around back, or anything like that.

I know, isn't it weird? What wouldn't I give to be back on Castaway Cay, lazily floating in the warm water alongside all you guys and never wasting a thought on winter!

What a pity about your daughter not being able to see the Dream ... She (the Dream, I mean) was supposed to leave Hamburg yesterday at 5 pm German time, she ended up staying till 8.30 pm (therefore I am glad that DH and I did not hang around until 5 to see her leave, as we had briefly contemplated doing) but then she left.
