The Disney Club to end in 2003

I've just been on the Resorts Board and got quite a shock to read that the Disney Club is going to end at the end of 2003. Yuo can read all about it here:

Disney Club will stop processing new memberships after Dec 12 2002, so if you are visiting WDW next year and were planning on joining the club, you need to do so before that date. All memberships will expire on Dec 31 2003.

There is no info yet on what will replace it but some talk of a credit card which I don't think will be much use to us UK visitors?

I'd be surprised if they offered the Disney Visa Card over here....won't take it out even if they do - I'll still collect my airmiles, thank you very much!

I must admit, a lot of the discounts I'll still be able to get with my DVC card - but I'll miss the number one discount....the Annual Pass one

We subscribe to the magazine independently of the club card and think its well worth the subscription, in fact I'm trying to track down as many of the past issues as I can find 'cause I think they're so good.

Ironically I was only thinking the other day that we should join the club as we have 2 trips planned for next year. I'd heard theat the annual pass discount alone was well worth the cost but haven't been able to find the exact saving. The official site is very poor for such detail.

This is an absolute nightmare for those non-USA frequent visitors - now how can WE be rewarded.

Me thinks mass email to WDW is in order from us all
